155lb+ Bluefin Madness On The Thunderbird. Uncut Video 10/22/2020
Переглядів 6 тис.3 роки тому
Big Bluefin caught on the Thunderbird! Fish never ran away from the boat but ran straight down and hugged the boat the entire time. Deckhand Ricardo said it was the biggest asshole fish he has ever seen. Tons of tangles. Crew had to take over for awhile and help while they untangled. Goofy gave me some tips as I was tired and not sticking to true form. Great trip I'll never forget. Thanks capta...

Sweet blue
Such a great boat and crew
Good job guys
nice fishing! surface iron hits are boner time! best feeling!
Nice video also thank you for not putting in loud music. word of advise to people to it even better-move the camera maybe to your hat. otherwise hands get in the way thru out most of video.
Hats off very nice trip good job
Great video man. Killed it!
Thanks for watching! Appreciate it man!
Great video big guy.
Big thanks
what is the silver and blue reel in first scene>>>>>>>>smooth
Daiwa Saltiga 35n
What setups were you using for your surface iron and wahoo bomb?
Surface iron setup is an accurate tern 600n with a seeker Ulua cut to 9'6. Wahoo setup is a trinidad 30 on a UC wahoo rod.
I was like I think that was my trip. Look I see me 😂
What size is that solid arm u switched out on the valiant 1000?
The total length is 4.48 inches. It was a prototype for the SPJ arm.
Thank you for the video. All natural no extra noise!!
I noticed your Penn fathom has a power handle in your video at 21:08. I have a fathom 60 that I’ve been wanting to switch out for a while now! If you don’t mind sharing I would appreciate it! Thanks! Awesome video btw!
Thank you! The handle is from BlackFlag_Fishing on Instagram 👊
You hooked that fish you didnt catch it...Cant catch Tuna reeling like a girl! The two deck hands put the wooping on that fish. Poor form my friend. To pass a rod to get it around or past obstruction is one thing but that was a sraight up tripple team on a fish that weighed less than you. The truth is im just jealous that you have 100lbs of tuna loins and i dont..lol good video
Dude that fish was a pain in the ass! I've caught multiple 200+ since then and none have fought nearly as hard. Deckhand still remembers that fish going on 4 years later. It was a straight up clusterfuck! Thanks for the watch man!
Every year i think about doing a 3-7 day until i see this. The over unders never stop. More exhausting than fighting a fish.
The caliber of fisherman is way higher on longer trips. Wahoo fishing is always crazy unless you are lucky enough to fish on a private boat. But don't let the over unders stop you! You have to do at least one 7-9 day trip.
@@AlwaysHookedUp thanks. I have always fished on private sportfishers so learning a new style of fishing intrigues me but i would hate to go on a long range and screw up someone’s big fish while trying to learn the rules.
@@Deepimpactocean I don't think you would have any problems.. Besides everyone is usually super cool.
Bad ass. Those mates are definitely on top of the action.
How many lbs of fish do you bring home on a trip like this? Great video great variety of fish incredible trip great deck hands!!
It's easy to bring home 2-300lbs after its processed. You usually get approx. 1/3rd the total weight of the fish back from the processor. I usually just keep what I know I'm going to eat/give to family and friends.
Right on that makes a trip like that worth it thats alot of fish I live up in Washington thinking about doing a trip this fall if things work out! Thanks for the reply brother!
Man that reel is so smooth, made the fights look easy! Nice!
Nice that there is no music, so much better to just hear the natural sounds of fishing offshore
What handle length did you use?
4.3"
@@AlwaysHookedUpso 4.3” handle arm with spj handle for the 1000?
@@Nobodybaby78 4.48 end to end 4.3 bolt to bolt
Excellent video! Great variety of fish! You did well, first time I see people casting into Wahoo, that must’ve been awesome!! Thanks for sharing your experience 🎉
I highly suggest going on an 8+ day trip. It's awesome!
Deck hans was a cool head, handled some vuisness👍👏🎣
Night fishing for you🙄Madness not for me!Need more courtesy when someone has a big fish on
Live action! Crazy good!🎣👍👏
Fish everywhere! Great video!
Thanks for watching
Whats your drag set at? And what # braid on the bigger reel?
130lb Hollow Braid. Drag is around 25-30 lbs.
Ass move wearing flops on a fishing boat and bringing a big bundle of rods on a panga don't be that guy
What size bluefin can you realistically land with the 800 without getting spooled? I have a bunch of smaller valiants for striper and now want to build a stand up tuna rod.
I've caught a 240lb Bluefin without getting close to being spooled.
Great video and looked like a sweet trip. You should go to Cedros with Rosie at Cedros Sportfishing, best operation, you’ll love it. And I’ve caught a nice high 20lb yellowtail free-swimming chasing bait right off the beach at those palms trees at the end of the vid. Good stuf! 👍🏻
Nice trip. That processing bill must have been hefty
nice wahoo! what lure did you get it on?
Catchy Tackle Wahoo Bomb
I’d do that trip just for a shot at the Wahoo! (Still can’t believe there was an angler in flip flops…duh!)
Wahoo is definitely the prized fish on these trips
Congrats on the wahoo! My favorite fish to catch/eat!
Nice fish
Thanks!
which phenix rod are you using an the weight of yout lure? thanks looking for a popper rod now
Phenix Axis 20-45lb Rod and 89g Lure
P.S. I got 1000 of 80pd Samurai braid on it.
where do you get a solid handle from? the ones I see on the accurate website is cut out like the stock one. Do you know the length of the upgraded solid 1000 arm you used?
call accurate and ask them about it. It was a prototype for the slow pitch jigging handle
THANKS! OK. JUST GOT MY 800 A FEW DAYS AGO. HAPPY CAMPER.
Enjoy it
Hey Always. I'm headed on an 8 day in June on RP. First time on a long trip. Any advise?
Just saw this sorry! Hope you had a great trip. My advice would be to go in october-november. In June there is rarely wahoo-yellowfin-dorado at the ridge
You're fighting 150 lb plus fish never going to get in gear and you never going to get any headway tell Julie that guy just doesn't know what he's doing
When you have green hordes on the boat he should be talkin to him and let him know how to
Tell that guy to take it out of low gear you my twin you might go to bring the fish up if you take it out of low gear
This is crazy I would stop fishing for a minute and let this guy bringing go get some breakfast
Everybody just having fun that's what happens when you have a bunch of greenhorns
Well you have to whine on the fish when you're running around you're not making this tired
I got cut off by all these dumbasses I'm not a
This guy's lucky one that he has 150 lb test line cuz if you didn't need it should have been cut off by now
Imagine if everybody got a fish on oh my God it's going to be total chaos cuz half of them don't know what the hell they're doing
