Government too busy sending our money away to other countries. Can’t afford to open sufficient passport offices to service Canadians.

We travel for business all the time. Often last minute notice. Can’t afford to send passport away for 3-4 weeks for renewal. Have to get expedited process all the time and wait in line for hours. Pain in the a**.

I'm pretty sure you can mail stuff in or upload online now to avoid the line.

In USA 5 year passports are for children because they change so much as they quickly grow. Once 18 yo, it’s every 10 years.

You have it for 10 years ? I always got a 5 years passport...

Such an easy answer, there are 40,000,000 people in Canada and around 70% of Canadians have a passport. Which means there are around 28,000,000 people with a passport and only 300 passport offices in Canada. That may be the reason it takes 10-20 business days plus mailing time to get a passport renewed.

Nowadays everyone’s “boundaries” involve never doing anything for anyone or tolerating an ounce of discomfort at any time.

Not a “we” thing. Choices still exist. Your personal decision to feed into capitalism and allow it to overshadow those past simple favors “because feelings” is an individual choice.

This is one reason I love living in a small town. The sense of community is so different. Around here these favours are just known as taking care of your neighbours ❤

As a person who used to do favors for others and nevet got them returned, I'm very glad that now we have a service for everything.
