What could have & should have been: this pop Motown pastiche sounds like a hit - in fact, it was a #1 hit for Take That's Gary Barlow - but Madonna's original demo is superior, sweet & melancholy at the same time, and her voice (even raw demo form) sounds terrific - if they would have finalized the mix & released it commercially, this would have been a big hit for Madge - too bad

When I listened to the Gary Barlow song 'Love Won't Wait'for the first time way back in 1997, I knew that this song wasn't written for a male singer, the lyrics clearly are meant to be sung by a woman. So when I found out in the early 2000's that it originally was a sung by Madonna, I wasn't surprised at all.

This is where her commercial music went it went to her Unreleased Material she went the Bazaar way not saying her released Material were not great many were but not commercially not every other radio station played her released Material not like her Earlier recordings her Earlier music was more commercial if she would have released her Unreleased Material she would have made a bigger impact with Rnb stations

This song is better suited for Kylie Minogue. Too sugary for Madonna.

Great track... It has that TSOP, Salsoul type of a sound and totally different from the sound that she was representing at that time 👍 but I think it would have been a hit too. Hell, it's my girl, Madonna!

It was supposed to be for Bedtime Stories, but had strong True Blue vibes. The song is lovely, just not right for the album, and Gary Barlow made it amazing.

I remember reading in the commentary section of ITVs the Chart Show whilst GBs version was no 1 that this was a Madonna cover and that it must come as a shock that she allowed GB to cover this considering the hundreds of artists she's refused over the years...........

Gary's version is best one and it's history

It's nice but Gary puts so much more emotion and it feels like he is really telling a story with his singing, overall he created a more powerful song. I don't think this version would have made it to number one. Still it's good.
