I'm with your wife, love the RI. The BA is nice, but brighter, dryer sounding, not as lush, warm, & smooth as the RI. I used to own one of the dark-hued RI tenors, most beautiful horn I'd ever seen, and sounded great. Sadly, I ended up swapping it for an early '60s Mark Vi, which sounds great too,. And even though I may have made out better resale-value-wise, and a bit better ergonomics (even Michael Brecker found the RI a bit difficult to handle), I have missed that RI big time, and would be willing to sacrifice a little facility for that great tone....

I wanted to like another tenor, the P Mauriat, new tenor coming out of France. The thing is Beautiful, YOU could compare to the horns from ROC. NOT Conn 10M. The horn still rocks after all this time! I guess it proves Conn's right to fame. Thanks for comparison, I'll stick to my 10M; Great playing.

I know someone with a 1932 Selmer & 1927 Conn Big Bore, both are GREAT, neither wins, BOTH DO. WAKE UP saxophone world!

"The Martin" makes the other horns sound really mediocre, even the Super 20. Im serious, "The Martin" sounded way better than the rest!

I want one of those saxes. Where did you get it from? Is it for left handed sax players? Did you have it specially made? Having your right hand at the top and left at the bottom of the horn is really cool. Goes with the shirt.
