For over a decade Arts In The Yard have co-produced art and cultural initiatives alongside the communities of Yardley constituency. We work with others to ensure the neighbourhoods of Acocks Green, Glebe Farm, Hay Mills, Sheldon, Small Heath, Stechford, Tyseley and Yardley are vibrant, inclusive and welcoming places.
We are a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) governed by a board of trustees who, alongside varied professional roles, have experience as Yardley residents. The delivery team for Arts In The Yard are made up of local residents who care deeply about their communities and those that live there.
We work with residents and local partners to deliver free programmes plus ad hoc arts projects to develop, enable and enrich our local community. We do this through art activities, events and projects including regular arts workshops, weekly seated exercise / yoga, fortnightly walks, monthly Arts Cafés, coffee mornings and more!

10 To 11 Blossom Exhibition
After our set of 10 To 11 blossom making workshops with local residents led by artist Hasret Brown, Arts In The Yard held a pop-up exhibition displaying the 6 blossom trees in what was a beautiful array of blossoms.
Each tree was dedicated to a Commonwealth nation and the Blossom Exhibition itself commemorated Birmingham hosting the Commonwealth Games. It also marked the new Ring of Blossom trees to be planted this Autumn along the number 11 bus route.
The blossom tree can now be found in their new homes in the community, allowing even more people to continue enjoying them.
We wish to thank artist Hasret Brown who did a wonderful job in guiding our shadow artists and being a joy to work with as always.

what I'm going to do "ladies" ...did I hear that correctly ...yes, I did ...I checked before commenting ...and what about the "laddies" I have done crewel work in the past and facing a chilly wet winter suddenly bargello ...came to mind and here I am seconds into discovering the wonders of bargello and what do I get "ladies" as a welcome ...well I'm not that hurt and I'm not only going to finish the tutorial ...and might even subscribe !!! confession ...I am a bit of a tease ...thank you so much ...t

I did a workshop with Tina Francis one year at a Jewellery Quarter Arts Festival and it was fabulous 😊
She came to my school today and taught us!
I might be biased because I’m her brother but she has always been an inspiring person. She was born to be a teacher to children and adults. She’s always been enthusiastic about helping other people learn to draw and paint. Her artwork lends me resolve to deal with my own problems and it looks spectacular too. Very proud.
