Finally, my useless pokemon facts are useful. So the pokemon diamond you found was a rom hack/translation of a game called Keitai Denjuu Telefang. There were two versions of Telefang, like pokemon, and this game played a bit differently from pokemon. Only releasing in japan. In the game, instead of catching monsters, you befriended them and had to get their phone numbers to use them in battle. Personally, I never played the rom hacks or the original games, as I don't speak Japanese, and the rom hacks never personally appealed to me, but the games were translated and renamed to Pokemon Diamond and Jade to appeal to pokemon fans in an attempt to have people download the translation. Its actually a pretty interesting story to look into.

For rse to trade with frlg you have to go the Sevii islands and do the quest to get the ruby and sapphire for the pc guy

I just ordered Leaf Green/Fire Red/Sapphire/Emerald four months ago. I am able to save, beat the champ, trade with them. I'm guessing the technology has improved. All for $4 a cartridge.

I got some link cables brand new out the flea market for $15 . These cables sucks and don’t work 🫤 so disappointed. I knew I was doing it right because I used to do it as a kid.

I actually still have my copies of Colosseum & XD Gale of Darkness, and I prefer playing GameCube games on my actual hardware. I know not everyone can do this, and that's fine. It's just for me personally, as someone who just recently got that exact HDMI converter, I definitely prefer playing my games with as few emulation errors as possible. So yeah, I definitely prefer the bottom footage.

To me there's something enduring about the old blurriness or washed out colors of old games. But ya I'm not willing to spend the 100 something dollars to get a gamecube copy lol

Emulators are great, make retro gaming affordable, and are a great way to prevent the loss of save files and damage to physical unites. However, I will always adore my purely authentic gamecube and other retro game consoles. Full files, they look cool to collect, and its something I can physically hold that reminds me of my childhood or were the thins my mom handed down to me from hers. I still use emulators to play games that I don’t physically own, or that are just too expensive. All in all, for me… nothing beats connecting different original hardware, and software, together to do stuff like build a genuine Pokemon team from over the generations.

I honestly hate the emulators because they look nothing like ones on UA-cam being perfect speed and stuff. I downloaded the dolphin and the ps2 on my current laptop and all they gave me is slow bit crap. And that’s why I prefer consoles rather than emulators

This looks cool. I just modded my old dsi xl with twlmenu, unlauncher, loaded a bunch of gba and nds roms so i can play metroid fusion using the dsi xl dual ips screens.

I have the game on my gamecube and my tv has an AV adapter. I can play it on its native resolution and tbh I prefer it that way. The screen smoothens out a lot of the imperfections that are a little more noticeable on an emulator. And if you think im being nostalgia biased, im 20 and the wii/ds were the newest consoles when i got into gaming. I got my first gamecube about 3 months ago.
