Beneath the skin
Another rough demo of a second new song I’ve written. Again it’s recorded on my phone so I apologise for the quality. I will work on proper demos shortly, just wanted to get these down so I have them somewhat hammered out when I goto demo them properly.
This one is pretty personal to me. It is about my self growth and about me talking to my younger self from where I am now and knowing what he’s going through and going to go through. The outro is the epiphany I’m sure most parents have which is that your children though they might have their own demons have the same struggles!

The guys receiving a reward in 2006, shortly after Syd's passing. on another note, Mick Kluczynski, one of the guys touring crew from 1972 onwards, passed away on Friday 6th of Feb 2009. He was most recently production director of the Brit awards and was due to retire this year

I’m normally very much on Davids side based on the previous years and normally he’s very gentlemanly but in this case describing Roger as a passenger seems rather callous to me
Yeah, especially when Syd and Roger were co-founders and he wasn’t.
He didn't mean it like that. In context, he was obviously describing them all (himself included) as "passengers" in the sense that their career had been a crazy ride that they were never in complete control of. There are so many moving parts involved in their success, nobody can claim to be "the driver", even Roger. Without David and Rick's unique musicality and telepathic chemistry, Hipgnosis' iconic artwork, etc., etc., they never would have been as iconic and timeless as they are now. What they made together and the way it resonated with the world is bigger than any one of them.

Roger waters is the greatest songwriter of all time !! Pete Townshend quickly mentions Roger's name as if it killed him to even do so ! A touch of jealously perhaps lol 😆 thankfully roger pulls it back with his sharp wit 💪👍
