Read about the pineal gland. It has a retina, and lens. And imaging bars and cones, as it is in fact a third eye, without need of an orifice. Buckle up, you are in for a wild ride.
@experimentalprogramming1758 Thank you for the comment. Is there a particular article or book you suggest be consulted on the topic?
Beds are not that high
Some beds are. Some beds are not.
Hi! Well said. Is this from a text? Or your own words? Thanks!
Hello. Good question. These are my words. If I quote someone/text, I will state it. Though I suppose if it's a really famous DO quote like "Find it. Fix it. Leave it alone" (A.T. Still), I might not think to ascribe it to the author since I'd assume (rightly or not) that DOs would know. 🙂
You look more fit ! Please more videos of the technique. Thank you.
Then function is primordial to structure and without function structure will cease to exist.
It would seem to be the case for biologic systems. It's an interesting philisophical idea to contemplate for "non-biologic" systems or to wonder if seemingly non-living structures are really part of a bigger biologic system. Like, is the Earth a giant-to-humans organism? And is the Universe a gigantic-to-humans organism? In some respects, we are like fish studying the stars.
@@RebeccaJBowersDO Food for thought indeed. Thank you for your response and please continue posting shorts like this. We need them more than ever
Perfect analogy
Thank you for the tip. Very profound
I am glad it spoke to you.
Also, it is worth mentioning that Dr. Chapman placed great importance on the need to treat out pelvic dysfunctions as well. This makes sense from multiple ways of looking at it: vascular/lymphatics, developmental/embryological, musculoskeletal.
Gracias por tu vídeo profesional, tu método de enseñar es fácil de entender, y cómo mides la zona de punto y su localización es sencillo, eres muy buena maestra gracias, por tu video
Gracias. I appreciate the feedback.
It was very educative. Thank you for sharing.
You're welcome.
This is very informative. thank you
You're welcome.
Really good explanation. Thank you
Your videos are wonderful and you are a very genuine person. Only one thing; can you use a lapel mic when doing the talking at the table. You can barely be heard and that diminishes substantially the learning process. Thank you pretty lady. seen the last part of the video and the book you recommended, it comes to mind the pioneer work of Dr Fulford and his famous hammer
Lovely🤌🤗
This is real helping people. Not just like others professional only did the examination of the dysfunction but never tells what causing or things to avoid. Hope this comment encourages you produce more vids, constantly do it and people will noted.
Thank you. I think education is an important part of removing barriers to health.
very informative. Can also dive deep into what caused the somatic dysfunction? e.g. if patient results a sacrum torsion dysfunction after clinical test, what the common habit /activities may caused it and what should be avoid?
Patients should be counseled to avoid bending and twisting at the same time as that can cause the sacrum to get stuck in a torsed position. Please see my video on proper bending technique. ua-cam.com/video/zKKn8MM8U8g/v-deo.html

I needed this reminder today.

Thank you, Porky.
Can you integrate the famous Norwegian Fish Slapping Dance into this? It would appear to compliment it wonderfully.
But we're not wearing the right costumes!
Great explanation of somato-emotional and fascial dynamics in symptom formation, that's hard to do! This is really clear, thanks so much!
I am glad you found it beneficial.

This was just what I needed, thank you!
You're welcome!
It's hard to see what your doing with what you are wearing...
Thank you for the feedback.
Awesome!
I'm glad you found it helpful.
I have a little lump that moves when I touch it in between my glute medius and low back. I was suspecting it was a lipoma. But after seeing this I’m hoping it’s a herniated trigger point. Can herniated trigger points move when touched? It feels like a little ball that just popped out. When I do ultrasound therapy it goes away but then it comes back 2 days later.
It's hard to say without feeling it. So far, the herniated points I have felt have been no larger than a few millimeters and they have the fascia twisted around them. There is a little bit of wiggle/movability to them, but not much. Lipomas and cysts are much more mobile.
No
No?
I also want to make sure to note that when the lymph system is being stimulated due to acute pain, infection, or other inflammation (like acute exacerbation from allergic rhinitis), the lymphatic pulse can and should dramatically increase in frequency and amplitude. I have felt it speed up to a rate of 1/second.
Excellent! Learned a new technique. Thanks.
I’m glad you liked it.
Thank you for this video! For so long, I've been looking for a basic video on FDM. I really appreciate the demo as well.
I’m glad you like the video. The book pictured in the video is a nice, basic presentation of the Osteopathic FDM concepts and traditional methods of treating. I love the model, but have my own methods of treating the distortions. I have another video on my channel of how cylinder distortions feel to me and how I treat them using FOR- which is great because you can treat a cylinder distortion of the spinal cord dura using my approach, but no suction or massage tool is going to do be able to do that. 🙂
@@RebeccaJBowersDO Thanks for your detailed response! I will definitely check out the book and your other video. I find this stuff fascinating. Currently an OMS-3 and intend on taking an FDM course.
I learned hip Drop last week. Ur video is really useful. Could u also post the citation?
Hi! I'm sorry for the delayed response. I only just saw your comment. To answer your query... Foundations of Osteopathic Medicine 4ed. mentions the Hip drop test: p. 1439- dropping 20-25degs=wnl & states which side is +; p. 1057= indicates lumbar dysfunction; p. 480= states feet should be shoulder width apart. Foundations of Osteopathic Medicine 3ed. mentions the Hip drop test: pp. 426-27 describes Nicholas Atlas way and says LE MSK issues that can interfere w/ test. Nicholas Atlas 3ed.: p. 28 says have feet shoulder-width apart & Observer's eyes level w/ L spine, then ask pt. to bend knee & Observer watches for amount of L spine Sidebending (wnl=25-30degs), but no +/- or mention of watching hips drop. An Osteopathic Approach to Diagnosis and Treatment 3ed.: p. 239 says to have feet 4-6" apart & doesn't say +/-, just that the hip that drops most is contralateral to L spine side that Sidebends most.
I’m glad you found it helpful.
This was very informative! Thank you for posting this guide, Dr. Bowers!
You're very welcome!
Make bags with the same sponge material in glycerin, coffee syrup, maybe a really thickened protein shake and coconut oil? This is absolutely brilliant.
Great ideas! The possibilities are endless :)
