im sure someone’s already commented this (but i dont feel like scrolling through all of the comments), but the born in chaos mod pack (the one with the bonecaller, plus the nightmare armor you were wearing, if paired with optifine, may not display the armor on your character. so the armor being invisible makes sense if you have optifine.

Honestly, as other people have said already, i'm not a huge fan of those who end a series when they die in hardcore. I much rather watch a clumsy gameplay with deaths here and there than have the series interrupted by a death, even more so if the death is something caused by a "broken" mod with a unfair entity, or as in this case the player clumsiness (wich, btw, I will never ever complain about). If it makes you feel less guilty, maybe in future hardcore series you could add the rule "1 death = fortune wheel of number of horror mods to be added + fortune wheel of horror mods", could be fun!
