I also ordered 2x8gb in my laptop because the 2x4gb that are in the laptop are eaten by the desktop by 60% XD In addition, I have 2 different RAM sticks and one has a lower clock speed which lowers the 2nd stick. I do not recommend mixing 2 different RAM sticks because the PC will choke. Here you added 1 stick of 16gb and you have 8gb in the laptop. I would recommend replacing it with the same capacity and clock speed then you will have better work.
The clock speed did drop down a bit, another 16gig ram stick will sort that out..but for now it is keeping up with all the tasks that it needs to do
