Rishiri Island
Rishiri Island is just off the coast of Wakkanai, Japan in Hokkaido.
We took the ferry which took around 2 hours each way. It has a dormant volcano on it abd lots of beautiful views.
I’d recommend making the ferry reservations ahead of time especially if you’re bringing a car, moped or bike. You can also reserve a car, bike or moped on the island ahead of time.

Did you know you need an International Drivers License to drive in some countries? We are in Japan and Japan required you have one. Have you heard of Zipair? It’s a budget airline that flys to Japan. To me it’s still way better than most American Airlines. You do need to purchase your seat, food, drinks, luggage etc but even then it’s still 1/2 the cost of other airlines to fly in Economy and 2/3 less to fly in their lie down seats which I did. which tower is best at The Westin Maui Resort & Spa? 1st time to Maui. looking for some ideas. thanks
Either is fine. The Hokupa’a has a higher cost a you get breakfast and evening appetizers. But the other towers rooms were just renovated and are great now!
Have stayed there over 20 times starting in 1996. It’s like a second home and I’ve made many friends there.

No the King + sofa only is for 3 max. You’d need to book a double queen or i’d look at Residence Inn
when tradewinds or at least winds that blow AGAINST the plane's departure, watch out! it can make the few minutes challenging for plane, pilot and passengers. the pilot did warn us all about the weather (it actually was clear, blue skies, but winds were strong). Even when landing on Maui was challenging, as if the pilots were trying to stabilize the wheels. the only grumble I have is that they kept on switching flght times....
Yes we had clear skies, but the day before my Husband was stuck for hours due to weather!

For sure! Lots of all inclusive resorts other places. Hawaii has great food and restaurants so all inclusive isn’t needed!
Hi, we are cruising on Princess Cruise to Alaska in Sept 2024. We are deciding between doing a boat cruise to see Misty Fjords or by seaplane. I am slightly afraid of heights and therefore thought maybe a boat cruise may be better. Can you advise from your experience of the boat cruise ie do you get to see really amazing sceneries of the Misty Fjords by boat?
Yes for sure- my video highlights some of the views. It was stunning. I can see how the plane you’d get an above view which would be beautiful as well.

No it’s family friendly but it’s more for adults. Definitely don’t cater to kids with a waterslide, kids club etc.
Great video! There aren't many reviews out there yet since it's been rebuilt. Question: In these videos I never see anyone swimming there, is the beach good for swimming? We'd also like to rent snorkels from the resort and try it out (we've never snorkeled before), is that possible? Thanks!
It depends on the time of year and if the water is calm. The day I was there it would have been beautiful to snorkel! The beach crew has snorkels you can use!
What kind of music do they play?
Usually Hawaiian, Reggae, whatever they want!

These guys got rescued vs killed! In Alaska they automatically kill bear cubs without their moms.

How cold was it? I figured it would be warmer now but you seem bundled up! Plus i am cold natured and want to make sure i pack a warm enough jacket! Tho 1st week of July might be warmer 🤔.
It was beautiful in port, but once sailing and sea days, it's chillier. I recommend lot's of layers!

The luau is illegal- the property is not zoned for amusement like KoOlina, Turtle Bay, Waikiki. The luau violates HRS Chapter 205, in that the property is located within the State of Hawaii Agricultural District. Here is a link to a youtube video that details the nonconforming luau end use activity of which the property owner has been cited by the City and County of Honolulu to cease the luau- all who attend this luau are enabling our laws to be broken and violating, disrespecting our zoning laws outright: ua-cam.com/video/x_c9ahyTr6c/v-deo.html

The middle section. It’s a great section if you don’t want to splurge for the front section. I wouldn’t recommend the back section.

Lanai Cat Sanctuary is one of my favourite places on earth. I've been there twice on seperate day trips on Lanai. Truly a beautiful special place for cat lovers, and those seeking peace. The people who work there do a terrific job and I'm happy to help them out with donations and free toys and treats I bring from Maui. The kitties are little angels I've enjoyed my time with and missing them dearly every day. And now with that awful Maui fire, it's impacted the Sanctuarys logistics putting the cats in a spot of danger. They need all the help they can get. Thanks so much for visiting and documenting them. Wonderful to see the place and the kittens again through your perspective. Aloha!

I didn't think you got lounge access with premium economy. Are you one of the higher tiers of Westjet Rewards?
West Jet premium economy to Hawaii pretty much is their first class. For other airlines you’re correct, premium economy wouldn’t get you lounge access.
