A sanctuary for small able and special needs birds.
Rescuing birds from abusive and neglectful situations, and taking in those who need a new home.
My mission with Little Beaks is four-fold:
- To educate and share information with people on bird care and welfare issues
- To create change in bird care standards and regulations
- To help/rescue pet birds in neglectful and/or abusive situations
- To provide a loving home, as natural as possible, to birds in need
My hope is that through this channel along with my Facebook and instagram pages, and with the help of other bird rescues and sanctuaries and animal welfare organisations, as well as through education and legislation, the world will gradually become a better place for pet birds.

Rescued: Diamond doves (and a quail)
These doves and quail were kept for some time in a small cage with some parrots.
Thankfully they were rescued by a wildlife carer friend of ours, who treated various injuries.
They are now enjoying life at the sanctuary.

Welcome these guys to the flock. They are lucky enough to have previously lived in a bigger cage - many others live permanently in this size or smaller, which is plain cruel. Apologies for how loud the background is - thought my voice might be louder! Please let me know if you can actually hear anything 😅

I have a confession. Have you heard the conspiracy theory that birds aren't real? And they're actually drones operated by the US government to spy on people? Well, it's true. The birds are all drones. We give them sanctuary after being involved in such dangerous activities. Because drones' lives matter too. ... Sorry for the late reply. Since we are in Australia, the temperature is actually pretty perfect for them. They have shelter and can retreat to it, but often like cuddling up with each other under the stars 😊
Hi , I am in San Diego! And I will build an aviary very soon for my 2 finches and my canary’s! What is the lowest temperature that canary can servive? And at what temperture they need heater?! Please let me know! Thank u so much:)🤞

Exactly.. I've got 2 in separate cages because they will fight. Had to take young male canary from aviary as father tried to kill him
