The Merchant of Whoville

The Grinch is a member of an oppressed minority being persecuted by western Christian hegemony and lashing out against it the only way he knows how, and Western society is indoctrinated to think that his forced conversion at swordpoint is a happy ending. Really the whole story is a tragedy about how a proud minority culture is destroyed through a combination of hard and soft power. It is Dr. Seuss' The Merchant of Venice. Maḥala = plague. Geddit? Technically the proto-semitic form *Darþ would really be realized as Deresh, not Dereth, but some compromises must be made to keep ORDER in the Republic. An original song for Ḥanukkah, composed by Isaac Gantwerk Mayer and performed by Ḥazzan Yoav Oved and Tali Tadmor. Originally written and performed for the Jewish Music Research Centre in 2020. The lyrics derive from Megilat Antiokhos, a late-classical Jewish apocryphal text telling the story of Ḥanukkah.

Yet another sacred text of my people, restored to its original Hebrew and recited in the manner of the Megillah. Images from Stable Diffusion because asking an actual artist to illustrate this nonsense would breach the final clause of the eighth amendment. Every image is prompted with the text of its verse, except for the cool skull which was prompted with "cool skull."
