I have always tried to make my photos about fire fighters doing their job. It is my hope that my photos have documented, educated and inspired other fire fighters along the way.
I hope you enjoy my photo’s, I have had a lot of fun shooting them!

Excellent video production.
At least the fire chief does his job in Gilmanton - the police chief just sits next door at Daddy's house all day
Great work, Gary!
What is the music's name, nice little tune.
New Hero in Town by Kevin Macleod
@@JohnNNYC holy hell thank you
1:27 that truck on the close right is a 1980 seagrave telephone booth ladder 61
0:08 what town was that in?
Photo was taken in Pembroke NH 1983
Using a small diameter hand line with a fog nozzle is just poor tactics.
At 0:16 you see the disbanded Engine 232 from the old "Tin House" in Brownsville, Brooklyn. That was the engine that mayor Ed Koch put out of service on Super Bowl Sunday 1984 (?)
I have the Captain's Helmet from 146 Truck from the war years. Brooklyn's ACE IN THE HOLE.
I always go to that campground every summer last summer feel weird because that old barn not there
I was there
At 3:03 is that a engine or ladder
Ladder 146 on Richardson St.
@@thecaptainsvision3689 it's a very nice photo also sorry I have 2 more questions. On 9/11 did anyone on Ladder 131 die? And what was ladder 120 doing in ladder 146's bay
@@shawlewis6492 Sorry I do not know about Lad 131, 120 was relocated to 146 for a fire
@Shaw Lewis yes unfortunately 131 had losses. You need to read the book, "Finding John" by Andrew Serra. It's a fantastic book.
Brooklyn: The boro of short buildings and tall tales...
Really ? LOL
2:35 anyone know what truck that is?
It's in North Lawrence GA living the good life retired. It's been painted a really dark blue and it still has 290 on it and on the rear door it has the FDNY Emblem. It goes to events and car shows. And the cab is painted white
The Truck is 103
American lafrance 900 series
Engine 290 is now blue and in ga living the good life retired. And still looks great
What is the number of the rig now
@@shawlewis6492 she says north Lawrence on it now still wears 290. Has a bigger tank on her now as well. If you give me an email I can send you a picture of her now if you like. I see it quite often
@@willharris4429 i found pictures and a video of it. Does it still do emergency calls
@@shawlewis6492 no it’s fully retired goes to events and car shows all over ga and south east
@@willharris4429 well it's earned it. How many different fire departments has it been with
Legend has it that OSHA inspectors were forbidden to watch these videos -- TOO MANY HEART ATTACKS AND STROKES !! 😆😂🤣 🚨👨🚒🔥 ❗
" Yeaaah, we're gonna go ahead and switch to a defensive attack. Let's go ahead and turn on heavy water. " ---fire captain
RE: Brownsville fire--- " Yeaah. Let's just go with heavy water! "
Awesome pictures 😊👌
I remember standing in my front yard down the road a little ways watching the smoke rise it was slightly emotional
3/4 boots, SCBA optional, no 4 inch hose, 1 3/4 hand lines just starting to come out, riding on the back step, or open jump seat..... great times
Great video
I was born in 1977. Back in 1991, after watching Backdraft, I read every book about firefighting in the public library (including Report From Engine Co. 82). Most of those books had pics from this nostalgic era. These guys were gods to me. Thanks for posting. FDNY... badass. LAFD 1999- present. Honor and respect to Lt. Ayers, a man who presumably saw a lot of action during “the war years.”
Whoa... that is so cool!!!
Quite a few of those rigs had 2nd carriers in southern pa.
I worked on alotta of these trucks pictured here
Shops ?
Nice to see old pictures of Engine 232 formally Squad 7
During the middle 50s the original SQUAD 7 was quartered on Devoe Street and Manhattan Avenue.
Thank You
I was born in 75` it crazy to see how far the department has come. I remember seeing most of these trucks and engines.
What song is this
music from incompetech
Called “New hero in town” by Kevin MacLeod. But keep in mind that the Original doesn’t sound like the one in the video
I was there....FDNY 1978-1999
Where were you? Any chance we met?
@@thecaptainsvision3689 Brooklyn....it's possible
Rode with Rescue 1, summer of '87. One Saturday night they ran no less than 12 runs on everything imaginable. Artie O. was on board with Eddie Loder at the wheel. And no EMS run then. Purely firefighting.
The ALF rigs were a nice looking truck in NYC. Unfortunately Mack had the market cornered for their durability. Perhaps a few years later they would have been a good fit since Mack was on its way out. Then ALF would have survived. Who knows?
The ALF rigs were junk ! They broke down frequently while the Mack rigs held up to an unbelievable beating.
@@280StJohnsPl Thanks for the information. Macks were built tough. Unsure about in 2020. The ALFs probably couldn't handle the punishment of the city. They stood the test of time in the city where I was in '72. Were probably best in bedroom communities.
I hated the lafrance..tub of shit
ALF never would have survived regardless. As a Freightliner subsidiary, they signed their own death warrant. Look no further than the plastic pieces of shit (that didn't last a decade) under the heavy use of New Orleans.
@@DowntownDeuce2 anyone ever been on the mythical Sutphen tower ladders? Always wondered how the guys felt about em down there.
Thanks for posting. Great pix.
Holy
This was a tragic loss for Northwood
Oh my God I dont even know what to say. I'm so sorry!
That was my house.
Oh my God addie I am so sorry. Did you see my texts?

I am close friends with that boys house
I know that kid
Nice work, what time was this?
Call went out at 04:31, Thanks
@@thecaptainsvision3689 Great work as always. My scanner's off from 1 to 10, a guy's gotta sleep, lol. P.S., I shared it, hope you don't mind.
