    Robert Moses is not the number one ever that I want the damage what he's done but the damage he also that I leave a part of it of a scarf that are of a community suburbs neighborhoods towns smaller communities of stores and different stores as well data from in well in New York that are from the Bronx queens and Brooklyn especially that how much money over trillions and billions of dollars that are New York City went to bank for the 70s the 80s and then the 90s that was the worst time in the years right there because Robert Moses that he could do whatever he wanted to do that a building his Highway fantasy daughter in the sky but however the communities are for the people that are just like how to say this don't realize that that of a Robert Moses that he destroyed of a scarf of everywhere to build on his vision to rebuild over new things but the problem is that the damage is already done already and today right now in 2022 right now is just like a how a rich man daughter of a helip of a terrible scarf on that he destroyed over the Bronx queens and Brooklyn of a marketing that he just realized that he just don't care realize it about it and specially that what he's done to get rid of it over the people like how to say this oh yeah the Jewish the Italians the Germans the Irish and the African-Americans especially Latina Americans they're like how to say this they don't know that of where they're going to stay where they're going to live but instead that of Robert Moses that he built on a cheap old apartment that is so tiny right there many people they refuse to stay with it because it's so little and it's not big enough and specially thought of a what is a politicians of a corruption so anything is always about a selfish greedy of money data of a he could do whatever he wanted to do but it's too late too late for that anyway because New York City that I was a how to say this corrupted bankrupt and even the worst time ever that are of years in the present it's just like a well look at what he's done anyway especially data of other people in New York are not going to remember his name because everyone just forget about his name but however Robert Moses he have a deep connections that are about who is approved this project anyway it's just like everyone have evolved other connections and today that are right now the Bronx have a big future of New Yorkers the people of the Bronx Queens of Brooklyn and enjoy especially for loved ones as well that I could Joy of a center is for how to say this High Line in the park line the Bronx queens and Brooklyn but however you know this that Robert Moses that he never saw this one coming but however he's dead already I'm glad that that nightmare is over because he doesn't care about the communities he doesn't care about the people here the voices he doesn't care about it that I was going to do anyway because it's too late today that are right now in 2022 the scarf of a robin Moses that is what he's done it's just like a we will never forget anyway especially daughter of a for another reason stutter of a you know that other so many other corruption politicians excuses and the rich people are building of a high taller skyscraper anyway from office to companies for expensive apartment of it looks like a office building but it's not it's just like an expensive luxury apartment and not to mention that well let me say this for telling the truth today right now is still like a keep it quietly and don't say nothing about it but you know this rich people that are in Manhattan they could do what the hell they wanted to do but Dakota is going to get the shine will be covered it up and the people over where lower Manhattan we're not going to be failed to warm but you know this everyone I'm glad that of Manhattan is low Manhattan in the middle of Manhattan is growing up of taller skyscrapers but the sun cannot be shiny anymore it's going to be like a for rich people going to get more the sun right there but in the ground right there it's like a how to say this toxicated polluted gasoline's turnpipes and not to mention of different sides of vehicles of well driving and especially done it for the selfish and rich people that are today right now in 2022 they're going to be out of space anyway and you should know this anyway everyone because well I keep seeing the boss Queens at Brooklyn still having the scarf of markings and that one is not going to be killing just like a rich selfish people they are so what is going to be the next strategy over many of a rich people that are going to do with their all that money right there because I can tell you this that I of the low Manhattan and the middle Manhattan is getting popular anyway because it keeps seeing looking and what is going on don't you love other corruption that are from New York City that are over what the hell they done with all that billions and trillions and thousands of dollars right there by now and specially how many are rich people are there living a luxury expensive Cuisine and more of well let me say this people that just don't know anything about yet and more people that we're not going to realize if that how to say this for all of you right now people they don't care but let me say this for all of you right now sometimes that other corruption that I got out of our ingredient is selfish that I don't know what to do but sometimes that it is depends as people matters life depend data of I don't like to keep it like traditional over good neighborhoods but that good neighborhood is already destroyed there's no existing of a part of a neighborhoods that's only like glass steel concrete of dental locations of part of Manhattan everywhere but you know what anyway I'm going to say this the warm the touching and comfortable is for the Bronx queens and brooklyn.. in the world not taller skyscraper not a expensive daughter of luxury it is especially that I'm going to say this right now whoever you are that are really this message right now you could be selfish and greeted you are but you don't have respectfully.. for the people of New Yorkers not to mention that of well what's coming up next going to be the next strategy of the rich people they are I don't know because I already do know everything about it

    Very simplistic "analysis" (actually really just opinion) from Jason Haber. Robert Moses was appointed to his various positions by elected officials. You could call Hillary Clinton a "dictator" (in her position as Secretary of State) or any other powerful appointee. Moses had real power because he created TOLL expressways, tunnels, bridges, etc. which generated millions of dollars of revenue every year and because he invariably created a lot of JOBS in the process. The true "fragility" of democracy rests in an IGNORANT and/or APATHETIC electorate. Jason Haber can smile and tell you, "Really, don't we all know that one and one equals three?" Do your own research before you believe bunk peddled by Jason Haber or Donald Trump: they are BOTH trying to pass three dollar bills on you!

    • @jasonhaber101
      @jasonhaber101 2 роки тому

      If you believe a "dedicated highway" is the answer to gridlock, I suggest to try to traverse the Cross Bronx Expressway or the Long Island Expressway. A Lower Manhattan Highway would have eliminated most of Soho and done nothing to ease congestion. Instead, we'd just have an eyesore highway running thru the cast iron district. The way to address gricklock downtown is to improve mass transit and transpo alternatives so there are less of them occupying the same amount of space.

  • @sybildavis463

    Casting Robert Moses as "the devil" seems both naive and over-simplistic. Mr. Haber chooses a two hundred year old example of "great urban planning" (the Erie Canal), when New York City had a population of 123,000 people, to show a "success" and then proceeds to equate what Robert Moses did for (or in Haber's opinion "to") the city in the 20th Century as equivalent to the evils of the Great Depression. It is quite true that Moses' projects did not increase the population of NYC 10-fold (as he purports the Erie Canal did), but may one ask, "Are Moses' projects to be blamed for this decrease?" If one looks (for instance) at the once thriving City of St. Louis, Mo in the 20th Century, it population peaked at roughly 856,000 in 1950. Today it hovers barely above 300,000. Was St. Louis' decline the result of dictatorial urban planning, or were there perhaps other factors? Critics of Moses tend to propose a simplistic opposition between Roads/Cars = bad with trains/buses = good. Well now with the electric car I'm afraid Mr. Haber and his colleagues will have to rethink their strategy. It's quite true Moses ALWAYS favored the car over mass transit; for the very simple reason that he knew he could charge TOLLS to individual motorists and fund his building projects. Subways, Trains, Buses BY DEFINITION are always MONEY LOSERS. If your local public transit was run by private corporations you'd find trains, buses, subways, etc. CANCELLED--as the Airlines now regularly do and strand folks without a thought. So Moses (inevitably) always tried to build large projects to generate self-sustaining revenue. And he did throw in quite a few parks and beaches at the same time. If you want a true "dictator" who totally had everyone in his thrall I suggest you take a look at J. Edgar Hoover: the F.B.I. was his personal domain and I would suggest he did a lot more real harm than anything of which you can accuse Robert Moses. Robert Moses was essentially "racist" against anyone who could not pay their own way. And to blame him for the evils of racial discrimination when you had the likes of Fred Trump taking Federal money and not renting to minorities at the same time seems incredibly short-sighted. Jane Jacobs stopped Robert Moses--but if she'd managed to STOP FRED TRUMP then maybe all of us alive (and the half a million unnecessary dead Americans) might be SIGNIFICANTLY better off today, don't you think?!?!?!?!?!?!?

    "You tell me 'Jane Jacobs has won,' I'll show you mass transit that is literally crumbling before our very eyes". I live in Mexico City, where just a few weeks ago a subway overpass collapsed, resulting in several deaths and severe injuries. This specific subway line has had issues since day one. It was built in a hurry by the local government and by a businessman that I would describe to New Yorkers as a mix between Robert Moses and Rudy Giuliani. So yeah, that one hit home.

    One of the best things Robert Moses did was Orchard Beach in the Bronx. He had the original beach by that name landfilled (it was in Pelham Bay, between Rodman's Neck and Hunter Island) and had the new beach built on the east side, by Long Island Sound. Everyone in the Bronx had the chance to go to a beach close to home after that (though before the highways it would be a long trip for some people). With the original beach, a group of people somehow got together and decided to form a beach colony and keep out anyone that they didn't want there (I'm guessing black people, Hispanics, Italians, Irish, and anyone else in the Bronx who wasn't WASP). They had a lot of nerve, and deserved to have RM kick them all out. Other people, however, didn't deserve that fate when it happened to them, like when the city wanted a new opera house. (I love 19thc architecture, and in my opinion, the old opera house was a lot more attractive.) And the fate of Penn Station makes me want to cry.

I think its pretty fair to say Robert Moses ideas were horrible in the long run. Having millions of people drive into a city is not practical due to space needed to accommodate that many vehicles. LA has horrible traffic for a reason.... Also, cities that try their best to accommodate cars, like Moses wanted, end up turning into giant parking lots. Look at Newark, Baltimore, Cleveland, Buffalo, and Kansas City. These are all cities that destroyed their downtown in order to build highways and parking lots. Now look at them..... @@louisyeostros4978 The cities I mentioned (including Buffalo) all faced economic hardships. They turned to the 60s era policy of "Urban Renewal" to rebrand their cities. This involved destroying much of the historic downtown to make way for parking lots and highways. That's why Buffalo has lots of parking, but not a lot of residents! New York dabbled a bit in the "Urban Renewal" nonsense. Hopefully the new generation can learn from the mistakes of the past. Cars will always be needed, but great cities need more than just cars.

Stick to driving on a road well traveled because you suck at building roads.

    When i watched this presentation by the Latest Anointed Apologetical APPROVED STOOGE for the POST-BLOOMBERG SODOM ! Its a shrewd SPECIOUS SOPHISM add in the DISNEYLAND 1950, s feel with Graphics from a WARHOL Movie ! I had Two OLD friends who actually Worked for WARHOL at the FACTORY . NOW in the INFRA-RED Reality of the 21th Cen Your VAUNTED CITY is the INFRASTRUCTURAL TOILET BOWL OF AMERICA. SLOWEST Snail-Like SLUGGISH Slow down Slowpoke BUSSES in AMERICA. The Average SPEED of a TAXI now in MANHATTAN is a Blazing 4.7 MPH ! AS a DIRECT RESULT of YOUR STUPID STATE REBUFFING the Greatest Mammoth MASTER BUILDER and ENGINEERING GENIUS since the 18 th DYNASTY of PHARAONIC EGYPT > ROBERT MOSES and instead SUCCUMBED to the SIREN SONGS of the POST MENOPASUAL SLUT who HATED CARS jane jacobs and the GERIATRIC WEASEL robert caro who still lives in SODOM on 95 th STREET and works part time for the NOXIOUS N.Y. TIMES a paper i reserve for the PARAKEET CAGE . Again No Wonder N.Y. IS THE INFRASTRUCTURAL TOILET BOWL OF AMERICA .A few YRS. back i asked the Syncophant at the WHOREHOUSE IN MORNINGSIDE HTS. Look when was the last time YOUR STUPID STATE even BUILT a major Monumental BRIDGE ? Need a hint ? Go back to the FIRST WORLD TOUR OF THE BEATLES at SHEA STADIUM !!!When i was in the ARMY that kind of Sloppy Slip-Shod SLOTHFUL SLATTERNLY SLACKER SHIRKING SLOVENLY Performance to INFRASTRUCTURE ROADS UNBUILT UNBUILT BRIDGES and EXPRESSWAYS would have been labelled CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE and DERELICTION OF DUTY ! Actually to BUILD anything SPEEDILY in the stupid state of N.Y. one must have a PENAL PURPOSE : ELECT A CUOMO and BUILD A JAIL IN SULLIVAN COUNTY ! NOW N.Y.C. is the Most Congested Blocked Jmmed OVERCROWDED GORGED SNARLED BOTTLENECKED Super Saturated Streets of SODOM in AMERICA. STOOGE maybe another Set of TROTTENBURGS SUICIDAL KAMIKAZE BIKE LANES would ALLEVIATE YOUR PRESCRIPTED PREDESTINATED TRAFFIC WOES ! ONE can Always take the STINKING SUBWAYS or the ROTTING RAILROADS . NOW N.Y. Must Shell OUT 20 BILLION $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$Per YR. just to Compensate for the LOST TIME in the INCESSANT EVERLASTING UNRELENTING BARRAGE of CARS FREIGHT TRUCKS VANS LIMOS VEWHICLES WHEN IF IF LOMEX and the MID-TOWN EXPRESSAYS were CONSTRUCTED the COST would be TWENTY BUCKS ! BUT SODOM Choose the WORST Most corrupt INEFFECTIVE USELESS WEAK IMPOTENT WORTHLESS PROFITLESS FECKLESS INEPT MAYOR John V. LINDSAY>Again NO WONDER N.Y. IS THE INFRASTRUCTURAL TOILET BOWL OF AMERICA . STOOGE perhaps the NIGGARDLY BLOOMBERG Congestive PRICING Below 86 th STREET will EASE some of the UNWANTED CARS and DELIVERY VEHICLES from BARRICADING your EXCLUSIVE EXPENSIVE POSH ELECT NEIGHBORHOODS of SODOM !IF these crrrritically needed EXPRESSWAYS like LOMEX were constructed now some 70 YRS. Ago NYC would be a THOUSAND TIMES SAFER , YOUR MERCHANTILISTIC CITY A THOUSAND TIMES MORE PROFITABLE $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and finally A THOUSAND TIMES MORE SANITARY . Check that FACT out with the DEPT. of SANITATION ! NO WONDER the COFFERS of your stupid state are EMPTY .NO WONDER the Per Capita TAX RATES in N.Y. ARE THE WORST MOST ATROCIOUS IN AMERICA. STOOGE your IMPERTINENT INSOLENT Presumptuous BUMPTIOUS SMUGNESS especially when discussing LONG ISLAND sounds EXACTLY like the IGNORAMUS from ITHACA who composed the SCURRILOUS article on MOSES in CITY LAB > CITY LATRINE . SO this DEMONIC MALIGNANT Malevolent MANIACAL MOSES Built His BRIDGES TOO LOW , the DIRTY DOG , STOOGE your Shallow FATUOUS Survey Failed to mention the Most Ambitious ASPIRING Enterprising Grandiose ENERGETIC MONEYMAKING ADVANTAGEOUS MASSIVE BRIDGE BUILDING PROJECT of the latter Half of the 20 th CEN , The MAGNIFIENT PANORAMIC PRESTIGIOUS MONUMENTAL EPOCHAL TRANSGENERATIONAL SIX-MILE VISTA CRUISE across the AMERICAN MEDITERRANEAN > THE RYE OYSTER BAY BRIDGE which would have seamlessly Perfectly Wonderfully CONNECTED I-287 with ROUTE 135 THE SEN R Ralph Lick-Spit MARINO MEMORIAL TRUNCATED Roadway to RUIN BANKRUPTCY and INSOLVENCY .STOOGE this Crrrritically needed CIRCUMFERENTIAL MONUMENTAL WEALTH $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ CREATING JOB $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ BUSINESS $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ EXPANDING CROSS SOUND LINK would have OBVIATED the EXIGENCY of MILLIONS and MILLIONS of OVERLOADED TRUCKS BUSSES CABS LIMOS VANS COMMERCIAL TRAFFIC from having to TRAVERSE SODOM in the FIRST PLACE ! NO wonder N.Y. IS THE INFRASTRUCTURAL TOILET BOWL OF AMERICA. NO WONDER the PROPERTY TAXES in NASSAU-WESTCHESTER are the WORST MOST ATROCIOUS IN AMERICA.STOOGE THANK YOUR ADULTEROUS Treacherous SPINELESS Autocratic PLUTOCRATIC Back-Stabbing WHOREMONGERING GODLESS GOV Nelson ROCKEFELLER for HALTING construction on the BRIDGE>REF HOUSE of CARDS , Netflicks for a superb DRAMATIZATION on this Topic < in JUNE 1973 .NOW a THEMATIC for the GERIATRIC WEASEL , caro > L.I. GOLD COAST TO TRASH COAST 2013 ! NOW NOW in the INFRA-RED REALITY there is NO EVACUATION ROUTE for L.I. north-south because of this MONSTROUS MALFEAISANCE of the UNBUILT UNBUILT BRIDGE to REGRESSIVE RYE N.Y.NOW the Poor Slobs Motorists will have to SCHLEPP east-west 495 on the WORLDS LONGEST PARKING LOT TO SODOM , THE L.I. DISTRESSWAY . ROCKY however did get some timely help from the JUDAS ISCARIOT GOV of the NUTMEG STATE Abe RIBBICOLFF assisted by a SODOMITE CONGRESSMAN from FAIRFIELD COUNTY stu mckinney and the QUISSLING SEC of the INTERIOR , UDALL and of course a SCUMBAG CONGRESSMAN from GLEN COVE , Lester WOLFF . THIS JUDICIAL SLIME got a FAKE FOOLHARDY FABRICATED FORGED FRAUDLENT Specious ASSININE ECO WETLANDS BILL RAMRODDED Thru CONGRESS in 1972 THE OYSTER BAY PRESERVES so now NOW the CANADIAN GEESE and MIGRATORY WATERFOWLS have the OYSTER BAY all to themselves WHILST 10000000 MILLION MOTORISTS A MONTH ARE CONSIGNED TO LIVING HELL ! STOOGE because of this MONSTROUS MALFEAISANCE by YOUR BOOTLESS BLASPHEMOUS BENIGHTED Capitol in ALBANY L.I. has become a CRIMINALIZED commercialized consumerized CUL-de-SAC in the COSMOS !ACTUALLY a OSTRASIZED Feminized Trivialized Marginalized SCANDALIZED Simonized IMMOBOLIZED DEPAUPERIZED DEMORALIZED DEMONIZED DEATHTRAP !Miss Plastic who also works at the WHOREHOUSE IN MORNINGSIDE HTS. then told Me to RELAX. Come on Why be soo UPtight about some crritically needed CIRCUMFERENTIAL UNBUILT BRIDGE to REGRESSIVE RYE , N.Y. from over 48 YRS. Ago ? Now Miss Plastic makes Lucrativo $$$$$ at the WHOREHOUSE so i told her to buy a BMW CONV. Miss Plastic you would look stunning in a BMW CONV and this could really help out your Act . SHE continued to urge me to just forget about N.Y. SKIPPING the CROSS SOUND BRIDGE and then She quipped ITS ALL HISTORY NOW ANYWAYS .REALLY my mother had a spoiled , stink,in , flea-bitten poodle named SANDY ....

      There is absolutely no super highway, interstate or parkway that goes through the neighborhoods of Hempstead and Uniondale...Both African-American neighborhoods... Both on Long Island... Long Island Expressway went right through white wealthy Old Westbury
