I Blind Tested 10 Decks of Cards So You Don't Have To
In todays video I put my playing card nerdiness to the test in the form of a blindfolded challenge - How many decks of cards can I correctly identify while blindfolded? Even I was surprised by the result.
This was honestly one of the most fun videos I've made for a while, so please tell me you like it so I can make more!

This has been a major passion project for me recently, and many of my friends can attest to the fact that I have been thinking and asking questions about this topic for several months now. I'm still trying to implement the lessons I learned while preparing this video, and every day I'm trying to be more present when performing. This video is something completely different to what I'm used to ma...

That was insane. I can’t believe you got that many right. That was crazy! Also I’m glad that I’m not the only psycho that likes to sniff the cards. 🤣 Edit - #CertifiedNerd
SUPER FUN Video! 😂
Hahahaha😂 first time I heard you call out that accent on decks haha it took smelling decks to make it happen haha 😂
HAHAHAHAHAHA there were so many good quotes in this video! "I can smell uspcc" love it! I don't think I could do this, maybe you'll have to test me next time I see ya! #certifiednerd
Hahahaha for sure! Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it
#Certifiedweirdo
I really enjoyed that challenge 😄 wouldn't have been a problem, if it would have been longer 😊
That was actually really impressive man. 👌🏼
Hahaha thanks man, the depth of my nerdiness has been revealed
Fan before you’re famous
🫶
What's your favorite deck for the price? Just standard bikes?
Tally Ho circle backs are the goat imo 🤌
Hey Caleb I started a bit of a deck collection a few months ago when I was just looking for a decent deck to play with and I've always wanted to learn a few magic tricks to impress my mates with haha. Can you guide me to the right direction, as in where should I start? I like your videos, they've been informative and you have a calm delivery.
Hey! I honestly recommend starting on UA-cam. You can learn a few cool tricks for free, and there are some great easy ones out there. I actually teach the first trick I ever learned on my channel, which you can find in a playlist. If you find that you're interested and you want to continue, I highly recommend getting Card College Volume 1 and 2, which are designed to take you from a beginner to a fully fledged magician. Good luck! I hope you enjoy magic as much as I have
That was really impressive! But the socks... those are amazing!
Thank you! I'm glad you noticed them
10 out of 10 INSANE 😂❤️
Turns out all the hours have paid off!
spoilers 😡
Thank you for bringing us such an amazing interview. I will grab a coffee and my cards and fangirl a bit.
Hahaha it’s a pleasure
It's hard I'm just getting started my hands hurt 😂
YEEEEE ❤

Do you know what the name of those color changes are at 3:23, 3:27, 3:30, 4:46, 5:54 of the video? Cool video btw. Those color changes kick @$$.
I don’t know their names sorry, but I’m sure you could ask Jack or Sam on instagram and they’d tell you
Make podcast with Yevhen Moskalov!
His name is definitely on my list :)
Second this
I've been in love with magic for over 60 years. What would you suggest as a good, general starting source for beginning Cardistry? In any format. Thanks! Have a great New Year!
You can find a lot of great cardistry tutorials on UA-cam, so what I’d recommend doing is watching some cardistry videos and finding moves that you want to do. Most of the time the names of the moves will be in the description of the video, and then you can hunt down a tutorial for it. Otherwise there are some great beginner cardistry videos on UA-cam which will teach you the basics before you move onto more difficult techniques. Good luck!
Tutorial caleb❤ beautiful second deal push off
I was at CXP24 and met Jack Paton. He was so nice and actually taught us a lot and talked with us so mich about theory. His knowledge was crazy..
Yeah Jack is one of the nicest guys out there. Very willing to teach anything you want to learn, and he's got some crazy chops.
❤
Fantastic interview. Love it . Keep up the great work ❤
Thank you, it was great to talk to Antonio
Great video, you've given me a couple if ideas that I believe will make my practice more productive.
I'm glad to hear it :)
Great performance 🎉
That was actually very useful thank you!
Glad you got something out of it!
Great video my friend! Definitely has inspired me to look at how I can improve my practice sessions as well as the way I improve my craft 🙏🏻
I appreciate it man, though I really need to be taking lessons from you!
Great interview. Thank you for sharing ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great advice. What card magic did you perform for the people??? Did you change your routine up alot?
Thank you. Over the course of the challenge I introduced new routines to try and get some flight time with them, in particular a lot of tricks by Ben Earl. If you want to see some of the live performances from that time, they’re all still up on my instagram ;) (link in description)
Something about late night shuffling isn’t there 🌚
Double Deck: Another excellent practice idea is to use a double deck whenever possible. If You practice shuffling, false shuffling etc. for one week with a double deck, when you switch back tp 52 cards... everything is much easier, better control, quicker and it looks better. It amazing when practicing the Faro shuffle. If you can Faro 100 cards ... 52 becomes a lot easier. You'll notice the difference after as little as 20-25 practice shuffles with the double deck... really improves accuracy (getting a perfect faro). Love your video!! This is stuff that people need to understand about becoming good at card handling.
Yes, that’s a great point. I could make a whole video talking about this one subject
@iamcalebsimpson Proper practice is probably the most important area when it comes to being proficient at card handling. I train athletes to become more skilled, faster etc. I just apply those skills to card handling and its worked really well. I just saw an ad for a "weighted deck"... That will be great for building speed and quickness just like the weighted basketballs I use for my basketball players. Ok sorry for the rant. Keep up the good work. You have great content on your channel.
@ thank you :)
A double deck? I've never thought of that. I'll definitely have to give it a try, especially since I wanted to start working on learning the Faro shuffle.
@@charles95597 i works really well for so many card handling moves
Turning difficult moves into a fidget move is a great idea. I realized that my fidget moves were really good but the second deal was an issue. So I turned it into a fidget move. You notice the difference within a week. Excellent advice. (You need to set it up so cards are not all over the place and easy to gather while watching TV... so i use a small box at my feet to deal the cards into).
Thank you, it’s a great strategy for making difficult moves feel easy
@@iamcalebsimpson Exactly 💯
Really appreciate this.. invaluable info. Thanks Caleb
Thank you so much for this informative video! I have taken a lot from it and really like the thoughts. Even though I usually practice differently, I'll try to incorporate your thoughts into my practice. :) I wish you a happy new year! Thank you for all the hours we spent watching you work your magic in 2024 and learning from you. :)
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you, there’s even more to come in 2025 :)
I agree 100% Happy New Year!🎉
"dicks"
Thanks guys. ❤❤❤
One of the last qustion caught my attention, which were they 3 books he mentions written by. Also i really really enjoyed the interview, new to magic just learnt my second false shuffle. Hope you will get alot of subscrivers soon, ill be here for at least part of it. And as this comment has turned into an essay by this point I have to end it with a goodbye; In case I dont see ya' good morning, good evening and good night.

So youtube algorithm suggests I need to watch this video... Sorry but no. Style isn't something you're given by others, that's "fashion" and it's a media trend.
You might be missing the point a bit. Everyone has to figure out their own style - what personality or character suits them. But that decision is shaped by the people who influence us. At the end of the day all of us are the fusion of our life experiences and influences, no one can claim to be completely original.
Merry Christmas mate! Love this kind of conversation. I have been following and studying Dani for years now and I love his psychology and have now integrated it into much of my way of doing magic. I didn't know Antonio, I'll take this opportunity to look something up. Thanks!!
I’m glad you enjoyed it! You should definitely check out Antonio’s stuff, he’s very good
Love it! Antonio is amazing! Thanks for sharing!
He is, glad you enjoyed it!
Very nice idea, I'm really curious, who will join you in the upcoming conversations😁🔥 Merry Christmas Caleb🎄
