What size hose and fittings?
Is it 3/8’s or 1/2” for the rivet nut?
@truckertavis for 1/4 bolts I believe it's actually 23/64ths. 3/8 is slightly larger but will work if you are careful
@@gblonde2331 appreciate it
Where did you get the plugs that plug into the factory plug on truck????
@@MrEly115 skip to 7:54
Looking for those crimp fittings as well. Any ideas where to get them?
What size rivuts if you remember?
1/4 "
I'm working on my fourth rebuild right now. I want to completely rewire the entire dash It's a 1998 Peter built 377. That's getting converted to a 378 short drop hood. Wow its alot of wires, im totally customizing the dash, adding vents for A.C cooling, new windshields, rebuilding doors to seal tight. The old wires look ok, i just want all new, its more time than cost. I just came across your channel today. I'm in to rebuilding Peterilts from the ground up. Start with a new powder coated 280 inch aluminum frame. Im a bulk hauler so build em light! Have you ever considered totally guttin A 63 or 70 inch stand up unibilt sleeper? I've done 2 of them. You would be surprised. How much room you have? I put a shower and an incinerator toilet in 2 semi truck sleepers. And now everyone of my drivers wants to drive only those 2 trucks LOL. Its really the only way to OTR. I'm a bulk holler and usually run a hopper. Or a walking floor so I'm not out for weeks at a time.I gotta say spending the night in a sleeper with amenities like a toilet and shower is A world of difference. When are the manufacturers going to start putting amenities into these new semi trucks sleepers??? .If you just rip all of the stupid rattling plastic you have all kinds of room curious if you've ever thought about it. The worst part about trucking is truck stops.I will literally use the bathroom in my sleeper. And then just use my fuel card at the pump and not even go in to a nasty truck.Stop, I have not been in a truck.Stop bathroom in almost four years since I started getting sleepers.... You seem to be very knowledgeable and good at rebuilding trucks.Wondering what your thoughts are on gutting. The sleeper and trying to make life better for drivers.
Where did you get all the parts to redo the air lines?
Silicone works better then anti seize and a lot cleaner.
To prevent stainless steel fastener thread galling apply Milk of Magnesia . My preference is mounting the paddles lower on a plate off the frame rail .
I havent heard that. I will try it for sure. thanks
Thank you very much i could find any good videos on UA-cam on how to do this but i found yours lol thanks for explaining on how to drill the huck bolts and all again thanks!
Glad I could help! Happy modding.
I drove an E model cat in a 1996 379 xlhd with a 13 speed and Loved running the East coast with it, U boys will Love all the hard work too, it’s a Great Ride
awesome motors
Where did you get your crimping tool
Can find them on Amazon
Fck that corrosion on the chassis rail is ugly.
Hey great video, I would like to make my own hoses, but I don’t know where to buy the fittings Can you tell me where can I get those fittings? Thank you.
Sub & thumbs up, REALLY appreciate this clip, just got a 78 & the windows are hard to roll up & down, put plenty of soap & wd40 in the channels and still no different, at least your clip shows me HOW to pull the guts out where I can further investigate
glad it helped. thanks for watching
been there
uh oh
thats just a bowtie isn't it?
It's a 12-10 reverse bowtie. I don't like them super exaggerated like usual 11-7 or 13-9
@@gblonde2331 right on. I think its just hard to see it being black and indoor. I didn't know that made them so minimal.
@@humveekid ya the lighting in there doesn't do it justice. I had it custom made by 12ga
Thats a reverse bowtie? It just looks like a straight visor
it is but i had them custom make it 12-10 instead of 13-9 i dont like them when they are really pointy
Take a shot for every time he clears his throat, you'll be drunk 🙄
Drink up
😂😂😂😆😆😆 If you don't like his grunts you sure won't like mine
Where can you buy those crimp fittings?
Why. Will you farm that land in the near future. Why is the government doing this
It's just a joke. Just took out some of the headland so my test plot was visible
@gblonde2331 thanks for the joke. I've heard the government is doing this but wasn't sure
Lol
Landing gear?? Thats a new sort of plane?
What do you call them
@@gblonde2331 landing gear i guess but in different langage it make no sense 😭
Hope everything is going good for you haven't seen no new videos
Thanks for reaching out. All is well was thinking about starting to create some content for you guys again. Hopefully you will see a new video soon.
Seen these at 4state trucks I’m pretty sure these fit the 359 also
Hey there, you’ve done a great job I’m just starting in on a project very similar to that. Do you mind me asking where you got your OEM parts from?
Oem parts come from Peterbilt. Or a automann dealer.
Scrap that carpet and talk to ‘Day Cab Company’ (EZRider & Twin Sticks both used their kits…)
That was a thought but it turned out awesome and was my fav price.... free.99
Is there room to reach behind and put a nut and washer onto a bolt instead of the rivets? Enjoyed your video! Very helpful as I had not done this before.
im sure there likely is. I thought of that but didnt want to run a lock washer and worry about them coming loose as I didnt have any lock nuts on hand. the rivets worked great and they are easy to remove.
I have the same mirrors on my truck with the factory brackets. The only complaint I have is similar to your concern... I didn't have a good amount of lower vision. But I have new one piece drop style brackets installed now (truck is at body shop so not sure exactly how much better the view is). Does yours not have a small grommet next to the air cleaners to run the wires into the cab? Your truck is looking good though! Keep it rolling!
how did the vision change? my wires are all ran through the door and brackets
The new brackets dropped the whole mirror assembly down so now it's perfect sight! I think I had two thoughts going on in my head about the wires... I probably was referring to the small grommet next to the air cleaners for the lights mounting on them. I also ran the wires through the bracket into the door for the lollipops and heat.
What si the tire's and rim's size?
What type of hose is it boss man trying to do the same on my Pete’s
What kind of hose and size and what size fittings please and thanks
Where did you get those panels from with the wholes already in them I'm looking for a set for my 2000 rebuild I am working on as well
12 ga customs
the flap on the steps it makes rock chips worse. Keep a eye on it
thanks for looking out
I'd use clip nuts or even nut's & bolts before using a rivet ... that will need to be drilled if ever revisited.
All of those are good options. A rivet literally takes 30 seconds to drill and I don't plan on revisiting for a long time.
Great to see you back again, nice upgrades on the Pete Greg. But eehm, how in the world do you manage to get work done with Todd around? 😉
Hey great to see ya back. Your fleet of Petes sure looked sweet in the wheat harvest. Great job Greg.
are you still out there
Been awhile since we’ve seen the Pete. Must be busy with the farm these days
How tall are those stacks?
13'2"
What heads lights are those
What did the paint job cost you
Very helpful video, thank you!
water is getting into my truck when it rains, any ideas? 🤕
Where
@@gblonde2331 it’s a 379, under the dash
@@mariacamilamurillomadrid6167 they leak at the front window seals as well as where the visor mounts on the side of the cab especially if u have an aftermarket visor and arwnr using stock mounting location
@@gblonde2331 I really appreciate it, thank you very much
Hey brother where did you get your seat from did u get from a dealer in Canada?
Hey ya I did actually. I bought 4 of them over the last year. Some came from London KW Some came from a friend
@@gblonde2331 thanks appreciate it trying to find one like you have and just having no luck
Supply is limited. I waited half a year fir the last few
What light spacing are you using? It looks Great!!!
Hey thanks I believe they are 4" spacing
Like for Brasil!
Thanks! 🇧🇷
Cool looking pickup, nice video
Everything is easier off camera. Ask me how I know 😉
Great looking truck but those dual beam low lights are going to get you pulled over for sure . Not to mention the number of people that will flash you with their bright lights.
Nah I think we will be good.
Sweet looking truck that's the kind I'm looking for cause I love my Ford trucks witch I'm trying to find a 1978 Ford truck like that short bed cause that's the year I was born
