Super excited you guys got to this ep! I commented way back in a S1 reaction in reference to this ep. While the dinner episode might be the critically acclaimed one, I agree with Joe that this might be my favorite episode of S2 or maybe the series. Richie's growth is just so good - genuinely felt happy for him finding his purpose here, maturing, learning. Almost wish he'd stayed but of course, Carmy is family and they definitely need him LOL!

Had to add a Six Sense comment. I saw the film when it came out i was in my 20's. Then watched with my parents when it released on cable. They NEVER got the Bruce Willis twist 🤷🏽 Could never figure why not. Finally just stopped trying to explain.

The title was triggering after that last episode .. forks 😮 We needed something uplifting after fishes. I totally agree it is great to finally see positive character development. Looking forward to seeing your reactions to the remaining episodes for this season.

I think Richie and Tiff are making the faces which Eva makes at him in an earlier episode.

The four major trauma responses are fight, flight, fawn, and freeze. Michael fights (even with himself), Michelle runs away to New York, Natalie tries to make sure everyone is okay, and Carmen freezes up and disassociates. The entire family is a personification of trauma, both cause and effect.

Oh Lord... Here we go with this episode. I remember being sat on my comfy chair just staring at the TV screen as the end credits rolled. Every cast member brought their A game with this episode. It also opens your eyes as to how the siblings ended up being so damaged. Michael the oldest had to step up as the family man and sadly struggled because of which couldn't cope, Natalie being the middle child and only daughter could never get her mother's approval thus her constant need to act as the saviour and Carmen the youngest has seen his older siblings suffer so much and their trauma that he avoids any confrontation or actually trying to cope with his own troubles. Also, that mother is just a classic example of someone who should NOT have been a parent. Every time, Shei kept saying "something about to happen..." I was like girl, just you watch. I also think Natalie's expression at the end is more to Carmy, her telling him "I understand now why you didn't and don't want to come back home". Rewatching with you both though I've come to my conclusion... I can't stand the Faks 😂😂😂

Their mom, Donna, is more than just alcoholic, she also has Borderline Personality Disorder (most likely).

Not gonna lie, I completely agree with you guys' take on Sydney at the beginning of the video. We're on the same page on that. I do think she makes up for all of that afterwards with the amount of work and dedication she puts into the restaurant during season 2 and onwards, but, yes, I would have loved to have seen an actual apology and acknowledgement of everything she did on the season 1 finale, but, unfortunately, that never came.

Everyone watches this episode and wants to step away from this show for a bit. I get it. But please don't. You'll thank yourself later for watching the next episode as soon as possible.

I've always thought that The Hug with the bicyclist was the random act of gratitude touching Marcus because, damn, he NEEDS a hug.

Have to agree, happy for Carmy but man needs to focus on the restaurant. What do I think of Tina .... She came up with Jeffery and Carmy responded, chef's kiss 😘. As for Ebraham, I think it is difficultly with change, especially as an immigrant challenged with PTSD coming from a war torn country. And I would say he is around or older than Tina. We also do not have any background on Sweeps( Gary).

31:44 Apart from the fact that she came there because she needed the kitchen to do r&d, she was deferring her salary till the restaurant was up and running so if a decision was being made that could potentially push back the date, the least he could do is inform her of it. She could have at least saved herself the trip if she knew that the kitchen was unavailable for her to use.

The whole Richie antagonism started because he was, to put it bluntly, sexually harassing her from the jump, in the disguise of being (fake) Italian because she represented the change that was happening. He quite literally acused her of blowing someone for a review. What self respecting woman is supposed to interact normally after that? Yes, she could have handled it differently, as they all could have but her being a b--ch to him wasn't out of nowhere and he knew that, which is why he quickly put it aside. By the way, he backed into her knife, how is that intentional?

Luca is played by Will Poulter. Not sure about the bike scene. Possibly just the strangeness of a new place but still helping others? I have scene many theories, just a strange choice of music.

Sydney was doom-scrolling restaurant news, so with you guys pointing out that she's pessimistic, well...she really shouldn't be doom-scrolling lol. As y'all know COVID and everything that came with it wiped out so many businesses. Here we also see Carmy avoid answering questions directly or set boundaries or hold up his end as a (creative? business?) partner. Not a good start.

The scene with the biker is demonstrating personal resilience. How to bounce back when bad things happen - no matter what you've been through, you just get back up on the bike.

I feel like that biker scene with Marcus is a foreshadow for something that will happen at another time.
