U2 - Wild Irish Rose
Rare video of a never-released track from 1990/91 with a very Bono-esque introduction by Bono!

Buenos tiempos para Bono!! 👌👌
I love how Bono looks so late '80s here, pre-adioption of his Zoo TV stage personas. Some of the Zoo TV props are here, but not all.
BoNo it's the MAN. Here he looks so Young, what a frontman. |_| 2 are the LEGENDS , N°1👈
By far the 😎 Rock Star ⭐✨ 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
That arena reminds me so much of the Birmingham NEC, I was there for this tour. The ZOO TV Tour was more than a concert and a band I had seen 3 times before 2 of which were at the MK Bowl that was literally across the road from my house. This was, as I said more than a concert, it was an experience and that’s what I took away from it all these years later, I do not know of any other band that has been able to reinvent themselves from the blues and rock and roll to, as Bono once said ‘what is this?’ Meaning the music they had created. No band has done that and gone on to become better than they were before Rattle And Hum. All them amazing songs on the ‘Joshua Tree’ and on ‘The Unforgettable Fire’ as well as ‘Boy’ and personally just some of ‘October’ all those amazing songs before ‘Rattle And Hum’, which by the way I rate as a really solid ‘Live’ album..these 4 guys took it to another planet with ‘Achtung Baby’ and the ZOO TV Tour and then to follow it up with what I believe are dope albums like ‘Zooropa’ and ‘Pop’ and stage one of the craziest backdrops for a concert like ‘The Popmart Tour’ well I for one thought, ‘Yep Bono and the boys are high as f**k’ lol. I may not have been able to follow them all around the world but I have only missed the ‘Elevation Tour’ so to me, to me these crazy talented musical maniacs are the best rock and roll band/group of all time. Biased ? Maybe but it would be a cold day in hell before any band will accomplish that feet ever again. Thank you Bono, The Edge, Larry & Adam. True game changers who, along with discovering Hip Hop in 1981, saved my life. MCD signing off and if you read all that then you are as passionate and crazy and blown away every single time U2 rattles your brain. ✌🏼
💯💞😥
My god! No1 and I mean no1 could ever sing like he does incredible. Does not get enough credit!!!

Is this the only live performance from 1991 that’s on UA-cam?
@Steve Mac this isn’t 1991, it’s 1992 rehearsal in Florida before ZooTV started

They’re so good live, this vid isn’t even that high quality and they still sound amazing
Give the sound engineers some credit too, mixing makes a world of difference, it's mixed perfectly and the added reverb on Bono's voice sounds amazing, but yes, it's the band first and foremost 👍🏻
BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL voice Bono....Amazing Irish Rose you are....thank you !!🌹🍀🌹❤❤
They were playing the song in dropped tuning already even before the tour. Weird as this is just a rehearsal why not play it at 440? The Song is not the same at dropped E vs the original at 440 the dynamics are completely off. I play this always at 432 khz as the tension is easier on the instruments and the key is very close to 440 for learning new songs.
they went up against guns n roses in 88 with Joshua tree and nirvana in 91 with achtung baby and the music holds up
And U2 aged like fine unlike the others.
One👏👌👌👍👍👍👍🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👋👋👋🖐🖐🖐🖐
I love u2 forever mary 🌹 💖💖💖💖
One live:::::::😇😇😇😇😇😇
Lived in Tampa during this time. Couldn't get tickets to this show but saw them at Tampa Stadium, The Big Sombrero, later that year. A couple of us were wondering at the time why they would play in such a small arena.
Hey , Todd its strange because before they decided to do the lakeland show and week long rehearsals i had wrote them a letter to their fan club. In this letter I had talked about how they were such a huge band at the time that I felt like they were no longer my secret and I hated I had to share with the world . I went on to explain how hard it was to get close to them and even get autographs anymore. I told them it would be cool if they would do a show in lakeland and that lakeland had some big bands perform in the eighties and how it would be nice but I told them that they may not like the small venue and the sound quality. About a month after this our local paper ran a story of Paul Mcguinness. flying into lakeland to tour the facility and decided for U2 to rehearse for their world tour here and play a show.Maybe just a coincidence , but I dont think so. I stood out back of the Lakeland Civic Center each night and after rehearsals they would come out and usually it was like after 11:30 so it was just a few fans around at that time. I met all the band members and its cool because Bono came out leaned against a palm tree in back of the civic center and he talked for fifteen minutes and later the Edge and Adam and then Larry came out for a few minutes before they jumped in their cars and took off. This went on all week after they rehearsed and It was one of the biggest highlights of my life. My favorite band spending what totaled to probably four hours for the week just talking . Also one night it was raining and people were allowed to come into the civic center and watch the band rehearse because Bono said he could not stand to see them all getting rained on. lol All the guys were really nice and humble and you can tell they really care about the fans!
this is among or THE most celtic-like sounding of bono/song, you'll ever hear, in fact, even if the longest of bono, U2 fans heard this, it is so covered in 'celtic-ness', if you will, they probably would not even know/recognize that this is bono singing due to the music and overall entire 'bathed in celtic-ness' of the entirety of it............
U2 are the only band that are trying to wake people up to watch is going on in the world lyrics are amazing (from God) and then their music just makes them the best I love that band no wonder everyone wants to be seen with them Daithi ó Nuallain is plugged into there music u2 thanks
HI GIRLS...X X X
This was recorded for the TV show 'Top of The Pops', which Bono refers to. At 3:34 he says "oh yeah, we wanna be number one, yeah, Top Of The Pops". At 3:20 the words "Top Of The Pops" appear behind Edge on the screen.
On his guitar rig
Raw talent... They are amazing!
For a band their scale, I'm surprised they chose an arena as small as that for their first Zoo TV concert.
Because it was used for rehearsals and it's the show that's big not the venue that's small
Late to this comment but I'm reading At the End of the World by Bill Flanagan. He was with the band at this time. A big reason why they're in this small venue is because Zoo TV was already an expensive feat, especially the screens. They had a ton of ideas for it early on but McGuiness was there to put them in check. They were still seeing how well the album was doing when getting Zoo TV on. And of course, if they were selling plenty of tickets and merch then they can explore ways to expand Zoo TV.
❤❤❤❤WOWWW
This video combines the "October" U2 and the 21st century U2. Both elements are there, which is why I refuse to be pessimistic to be hitting 30s, it just looks that interesting.
Very much dressing like this on purpose. Choice of song and style of singing also very 80's to hide the nature of the tour as well.
