Bugger me..!!
Thank you so much for renewing some memories for me
I quite liked the Soutgate shopping centre, they shouldn't have gotten rid of it. Sad to hear my old secondary was closed down (Culverhay) mind you it wasn't a surprise.
Born in Bath 73 years ago lived in Weston Village at 18 the Weal. Worked for Hayward and Wooster. Now live in Chichester West Sussex good memories thanks for the video well done you 😉
Amazing photos..
High Lovely selection of photos, brings back memories when I lived in Bath from 1960 to 1974. Thank you for your effort.
Great pictures. I remember the Bailey Bridge being built, after the flood
Fascinating to see and try to work out where the 'photos were taken. I liked the juxtaposition of the older and rebuilt Cross Bath; I learnt to swim in there in the sixties. Dad used to buy National petrol from the garage, now a bar, just opposite the Theatre Royal.
excellent historically documented work. congratulations. thanks for posting this
3:04 wow, its weird to see no cars around the church! if ya go there now i bet that the road will be full of parked cars.
Thought they fixed that a long time back. Must have been exceptional rainfall that night.
Excellent collection and thanks for sharing with us.
I love old pictures ❤
Nice, lived here for 8 years or so
Lots of slave money went into this place
It's a masonic stronghold - "magic" and geometry ⚕
There's always one on every thread
Served with SWS Troop 21 Sigs from 1969 to 197 Laarbruch, Wildenrath and at HQ RAF Germany. I did work at all RAF Stations except Berlin. Served with the Signals 1960 to 1976. Enjoyed every minute, David Price
I lived at nº 2 The Circus, which was partly destroyed by one of the bombs intended for the Assembly Rooms just beside it, thus I have studied the reality of why this raid occurred during a lifetime. Unfortunately, I must state that opinion in Bath was always that if an accord is made to not destroy historic cities, to place the Admiralty main offices in the city was already breaking the accord. It has since become known that 'Bomber Harris' destroyed Lubeck and Rostock in experiments to test the starting of firestorms, as they had abundant wood framed buildings that "would light up easily and were as yet undamaged". My conclusion is that my family and several thousand others suffered because the British did not respect this 'gentleman's accord'. So, for once history must place the blame not on the Germans but on the British.
The buildings still look good why knock them down
You've peeled the first layer of the onion !
It's like history brought back to life. Very moving so many so many memories the good times and remember the very good old days
Fascinating
Littlewoods, part of the "new" Southgate Centre opened on 22nd Nov 1973.
Before Bath became one huge traffic jam 😂👍
nope, there was massive traffic back then too.
Many thanks for uploading this video. I have shared it on a Facebook group called 'BORN & BRED OR LIVE IN THE CITY OF BATH' and it has attracted a lot of attention. Thank you ... and stay safe at this time 👍
Fascinating! Thank you!
