Very trippy video... Interesting. Funny that some aspects like traveling in subway or jist traveling in winter looks just as gray and depressing during the war as before the war. But the lack of light and the sound of sirens just add that dooming touch... R pootin

Thank you for your work. It is very important to share and spread stories about Ukraine during the war in various forms. However, for me, as a Ukrainian living in Kyiv, the plot, the main idea, and the selection of interviews remained unclear. Some people talk about dreams, others about evacuation and the beginning of the war. It feels like there’s no cohesiveness in the idea. Also, the roles of the railway station and the metro are completely different in the lives of Ukrainians. If the goal of Ukraine Dreams was to capture the dreams of Ukrainians, I would recommend going to the metro during an air raid at night when hundreds of people with children and pets gather at the stations to sleep safely through the night.

Hello, I hope you are doing well in Kyiv. We did not want to stick to a linear narrative with this film. It is more about the train as a metaphor for transporting people and dreams in times of war. Some of this footage was filmed before the full scale Russian invasion, when the war was raging in the East. So part of our process when editing this film was to capture the atmosphere between these different times. When we filmed a second time, one month after the full-scale invasion, it was hard not to let some of the footage in about the evacuation, as it was happening all around us. The dreams came into this world too, but we decided to be open to what was happening around us. We were filming in Kyiv when it was very empty at one stage too, a complete contrast to 2018, when soldiers told us the busy metro-systems, and every day life had forgotten their sacrifice in the East. I am not sure if this answers your questions. Giving you some honest insight into the process.
