Paul Gornall Wildlife Photography
Приєднався 2 чер 2023
I'm retired, living in Hungary with my wife Anna , Wildlife Photography is my passion, amongst other pursuits, completely relaxed and living my dream. I am fortunate to own a reasonable size woodland added onto our garden, excellent for wildlife. I'm not a chocolate box photographer, I enjoy seeing the birds in there natural habitat, I just try to get a clean background if possible, if the image is sharp I don't mind a little busy background.

Nothing left in my garden due to the activities of sparrowhawks, they have killed or frightened all the bids off.
Bet you haven't seen a bull fince😊
Great images Paul and a very interesting video explaining macro well done ❤ regards Dave
Thank you Dave, just ordered a proper macro set up today so will have to wait a couple of weeks or so for delivery , don't get stuff delivered here quickly unfortunately.
Great video and a good verity of birds where abouts are you i live in Merseyside and Greenfinches and chaffinches use to be very common but sadly don't see them very much thease days ive never seen a Goldcrest
Thank you for your comments, I moved to Hungary 4 years ago this September, it is great to see so many different species and to photograph them as well.
Great tips for macro photography, thanks for the video
Look good to me Good Luck x
Thank you
How about ditching the bloody music and let us hear the birds. Bloody hell! I hate all that music. Just nature sounds. 😤
Thank you for the comment, sometimes the footage is in slow-motion , therefore no sound, but also my woodland has a main road at one end so getting nature sounds without road noise is challenging. but I get your point.
😊 thank you
Look good to me. It’s warming up a bit, it maybe the start of our Summer, have a great one x

Happy days indeed!!! That's really special! I've seen many LEOwls roosting over the years and they're almost always deep in the hawthorn or pine trees totally obscured. Great video😃
Thank you for your comments, it is special, I have waited so long for the opportunity to photograph them without major foliage.
Nice one Paul , have a fab Spring. Janet H. X
What a wonderful hobby. Will tell people about your sight , I know. a couple who may be interested x
Happy Days x
Nice sharing
Thank you! Cheers!
I think the pictures and the music are beautiful ! I saw a sparrowhawk on my way to work today, which flew to my feet and then to its nest and then back to me. It was also carrying a smalI twig and was obviously working on building its nest. I was so surprised. I've never expected to be so lucky. That's how I landed here. Thank you for the beautiful video! ❤ Greetings from Berlin.
Thank you so much for your comments, much appreciated
Willow Warbler and Wood Warbler are entirely different species, I have to say. Their plumage and songs are quite different.
Yes they are I stand corrected, I think mine is a willow warbler. Thanks for the comment
Looks awesome. bet even better when the green will come in. beautiful place
Can't wait! I love it, thank you for your comment.
No need for the music.😢
Hi thanks for the comment, I do question myself sometimes whether I should or shouldn’t
Lovely video. You seem to have better weather than we are getting where i am in Sussex - never seen so much rain, so many grey days and so many waterlogged fields!!! Have to grab the occasional good days when you can.
Yeah it seems that way I think the uk had more snow than us here this year which is very strange. We had 2 mild winters also not much rain, which suits me fine. Thank you for your comment
Nice one Happy Springtime
What an amazing variety of birds on your doorstep Paul. I highly enjoyed watching them and I loved seeing the goldcrest, a bird I haven't seen in the real world 😀. Great video!
Great Paul. You're really fortunate having such a wide range of birds around you. I know how much enjoyment I get from my small selection of Scottish garden birds, so you must be one happy guy!
Nice one Paul x
very good I can never resist photographing robins. I have never seen a brambling, and the warblers are so hard to tell apart.
The more you spend time with birds it does get easier to identify them, if I’m not sure I always check on eBird, that gives me great information. Thanks for visiting my channel.
Which lens did you use and how far away where you please. subscribed
Hi. I am using the canon RF 100-500 lens, also sometimes the EF 100-400 L series lens when photographing and videoing I’m sat in my hide and about 20 feet away, this gives me good focal length so I can zoom out for the bigger birds and still have detail and zoom in for close ups on the smaller birds, I absolutely love the RF 100-500 lens because of its versatility, also being an L series lens it gives me the best quality. The closer you get allows you to zoom out to get a better aperture for when the lighting is poor, as the minimum aperture is 7.1 at 500mm but 4.5 at 100mm. Thanks for the question
Hi Paul Thanks for the information, I've just ordered the Canon rf100-500 for my r6mk2 and I'll.be more than happy if I get half as good of shots as you. I'm going to make myself a reflection pool for my small rear garden as I get tits, robin, sparrows, and occasional goldfinch and rarely a bullfinch. I hope the pool will attract them more frequently. Thanks and take care. John, Wigan UK.
Just found your channel and find it very educational. Only recently found bird photography quite satisfying. What are your camera settings for slow mo video please?. Subscribed. John from Wigan UK.
Great pics as usual. Happy New Year
