    Hi I have a question on your burner I noticed a small hole with the letters L and H what is that for there is nothing there just a hole I have a razor tip and it has the hole to but I don’t no what it’s for

    • @BURNTbyHollyPyrography
      @BURNTbyHollyPyrography 4 дні тому

      The L and H hole is an additional heat adjustment that can further restrict the temperature allowing you to achieve even lower temperatures. This setting is commonly used in artforms such as wax burning. Because Razortip is a "detail system" they really did a wonderful job making the system usable for all pyrography crafts.

    I've done many methods but heard that SOFTER WOODS may carry these transfer lines (?)so one artist draws the tissue drawing out and then draws it on the back in softer pencil and then rubs gently on the top of the tissue and that transfers the underdrawings.

    Yea I have a burnmaster and bought the bhp razor tip pens also many for the bhp. I have be careful cause it get very hot very quick. I don't like the skew or spear shape tips or they don't like me. Very easy to sink into the wood. I am sure with practice it would become more controllable.

    • @BURNTbyHollyPyrography
      @BURNTbyHollyPyrography Рік тому

      Hey there! So I completely understand; maneuvering a skew tip, especially in softer woods can be difficult. They can also tend to follow grain patterns and can tricky to get to do what you like when just starting. Please don't get discouraged and remember let the heat leave the marks, not pressure. These pens do not require much pressure to control and pressure to increase the tone when burning. If you practice rolling your pen in your fingers when making curves, you can have better success in clean linework. I will be revamping my channel and getting back into posting. Ill be sure to tag you in a video about skews to help show what i mean :) Thank you for watching!

    Pricing has always been hard for me. I don't want to over charge someone but I also don't want ripped off. I put a lot of hours in some of my pieces and not everyone can do what we do. When it's all done by hand it requires talent not just training. Thanks for the video

    • @BURNTbyHollyPyrography
      @BURNTbyHollyPyrography 2 роки тому

      It's so true. Pricing can be so hard and even more so when we're emotionally attached to the work. I trust you are aware of this already, but over time you fall into a amount that fits you and your customer and allows pricing to become AL little easier. If you haven't found it yet (the wage portion) trust that you will and remember sometimes we bend to get the art out there but this never was meant to be or is permanent. All the best on your pricing journey. And! Thank you so much for watching and commenting. Your subscription is appreciated

    Very good pricing overview! The constants I observed from 30 years of pricing the products we made: Pricing is HARD and we consistently tend to undervalue our time. In the final analysis, time is all that we have to sell and it's a very limited commodity. Pricing formulas are key for all the reasons given, but I'd like to add another. When we price rationally, we not only are prepared to justify the value proposition to the customer, but maybe more importantly, we justify the value proposition to ourselves. No product is easier to sell than a product that we REALLY believe in. So, add the value that the market will immediately recognize and pay a premium for and the pricing conundrum tends to fade.

I would recommend a heavy duty cord as well when using it. The tips themselves aren't normally described as standard or heavy. Only the pen. The name of the set is "Micro 5 Piece Set"
