What do you do when your child makes a random sound like laugh etc.?
It’s not that big of a deal, I just look at him and tell him to quiet down.
What does Salvage bid mean???🥺😊
A salvage bid is an amount placed on the value of the car when it’s totaled
I currently work in a brokerage but am thinking of going into either underwriting or claims. Have you had experience underwriting? And if so, what would you say is the best
I’ve never done underwriting but it’s a department I wouldn’t mind working in. The appeal to me is not dealing with the public as much, it seems to be more of a back office role.
First off, I want to say, I love your channel and content! I’m interested in being a desk adjuster. I heard you mention it’s kind of like a call center. However, after watching this video, the inbound calls do not seem to be back to back?? Do you have time to breathe and step away from your computer to start a load of laundry or make a sandwich? Lol I hate micromanagement and managers breathing down my back if I’m away for five mins or more. I don’t want the stress of being robotic and glued to my desk. Are there metrics?
Thank you so much for watching and I’m glad you’re enjoying the content! Yeah I compare it to a call center but it’s usually not as heavy with calls, at least not constantly. Most of the calls I made were outgoing, but you will get calls of people and vendors asking for status and such on their claims. Yes you have time to go handle stuff if you’re at home lol! I’m good for taking a 15 to go load the dishwasher or have a snack, etc. There are metrics, usually customer service, how quickly you resolve claims, following department of insurance protocol, etc.
I just completed my first week in training as a claims adjuster trainee so these videos are so helpful to watch! Thanks again!
Congrats to you on completing your training and I’m happy the videos are helpful thank you for watching 🙌🏼
I love these videos… your voice is so soothing and I love your reaction to an overwhelming workload and stress.
Aww thank you I appreciate it! I just keep it cool for y’all but I be fighting for my life at work 🤣jk
Nicta.
Thank you for the awesome video!
Of course, and thank you for watching!
Hello I’m newly licensed in TX with my all-lines Texas adjuster license & I can’t find work at all..
Hello, congrats on your licensing. I’ve been hearing that from a few people looking for work and honestly I don’t know why that is. I’d recommend just staying on top of your search but getting on job boards that offer alerts (ie zip recruiter, indeed) and getting on LinkedIn if you’re not already. When I was in the market LinkedIn was a huge help because some recruiters reach out directly and of course you can reach out to them as well. Good luck to you.
@@kelatrishaan6435 thank you so much. I found your channel a few months ago. I’ve never commented but your honesty is so refreshing. Everyone else paints lovely pictures only.
Try progressive they have claim adjuster trainee positions
Question…how often do you have to review policy
It all depends on the types of claims you have. It’s really as often as you need to.
I would honestly go with the frontline adjuster, field appraisal, or the underwriting. Underwriting low-key feels so interesting and something I can't get bored of. Thank you for the video!
You’re so welcome and thank you for watching! I agree I’m interested in underwriting too
not to be in your business but by the looks of your kitchen the new spot is nice! congratulations on your move
Oh it’s all good, thank you so much!
I've been watching your videos for a while and love all your day in the life stories. I recently got my Florida Adjusters license, and I'm having trouble finding a desk adjuster job. Everyone is asking for experience. Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you so much for watching and congrats on getting your Florida license! So if you’re not already, I’d recommend revising your search to specifically entry level and trainee positions. Don’t get discouraged though because there is a lot of movement right now in the industry so you may be having a hard time right now, but if you keep at it you’ll for sure find something. This is an industry that always needs help.
Last week since we had a shorter week was tough for me. I am learning to “anchor” my activities out rather than going in to it everyday. I had a headache Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I got my bearings. I am learning the independence and lack of supervision and understanding to work the claim as far as I can.
Oh yea the shorter weeks are tough because you still have the same amount of work but less time to do it. I completely agree with the way you handled it, you really have to be diligent about putting yourself first so you can be effective. Wishing for some relief for us in the weeks ahead ❤️
Your videos are always educational, thank you. Your job is definitely a two person job, the fact that you’re able to stay sane is admirable.
I love this comment thank you so much! I’m not always sane lol but I try to handle one issue at a time to keep my head in the game ❤️
I always wanted to be an adjuster so I love watching your videos. I like that you take your job extremely serious and you are so professional. Have a wonderful weekend.
I appreciate the compliment thank you so much, and welcome to the channel. You have a great weekend as well ❤️
This video is very helpful because I've been trying to shadow an adjuster at my job. Can you talk about your metrics and what they mean by negotiation skills, please? Cute sweater, btw!
Yesss I’m happy you found the video helpful thank you for your comment. For sure, I can’t put together a video on my metrics and how I try to achieve them. Yes to the negotiation skills too, I can give some pointers but it’s something that needs to be practiced to perfect. Re sweater thank you I got it from Boohoo a few seasons ago ❤️
Have you thought about working Independent for a storm season? You are very skilled in Property and Field adjusting you could make 6 figures in less than 10 months.
That’s a really good question, I have thought about it but because my son is still small and I take him to and from school (my husbands hours are like right outside of his school hours) it’s not really feasible. In a couple years though that may change. Thank you for your comment.
I totally understand my youngest is 8, so I’ll be moving closer to family to help if I do decide to take a deployment this storm season. But I’m sure a lot of the firms would love to have you as a trainer also.
@@toshinanorwood6190 yes having family that can assist during deployment is a blessing! Training is a good idea too I’ve thought about it because I for sure can’t do claims forever lol! ❤️
New subscriber here! 🫶🏼 thank you for sharing your day with us… im a delivery driver and i can make a living if i over work Which i dint mind because at the end if the day im on my own schedule. But iam getting at a point where i want to stay home. Im very interested in becoming a home or auto adjuster .. Im doing my research in between my orders and very thankful for your content . I can totally say im more encouraged to move forward and get a course to get my license… i appreciate you. ❤
Omg thank you so much for your comment and for watching the content, I’m happy to help. There are plenty of work from home adjuster roles so you’re looking in the right industry for sure: good luck to you, I’ll be dropping another video soon ❤️❤️
What if you have a car loan, it’s a total and the money they are going to give you doesn’t cover your loan and you want to keep the car?
Since you don’t own the car it would be up to the lien holder to let you keep the car. You’d still be responsible for the payments though and the insurance company will give a lower settlement. You’d have to still make whatever payments are left, AND fix the car on your own.
So I’ve been doing claims for two weeks! I love it! I’m in APD
Nice I’m glad you’re liking it so far!!
I was in a accident last year I fixed the damage on my car my self and never filed a insurance claim. I never heard anything from the other driver so I assumed they never filed a claim either. I just found out today my car has a salvage title due to that accident I don’t know how that happened. Do you have any theories?
Hmm that’s a tough one. Did you physically do the repairs yourself or did you take the car to a body shop? It’s possible that the body shop reported the damages with the VIN and/or license plate information if you took it somewhere.
Thank you so much for the helpful information. I love how you broke everything down. I’m currently thinking of becoming an adjuster.
You’re so welcome and thank you for watching! Good luck to you on your adjuster journey.
Thank you so much. Do you have any suggestions on which companies that will hire people in the process of or who just received their license ?
I completed 4.99k to 5k, new here!❤
Yayyy thank you for subscribing 🥰🥰
Just found your channel and I am binge watching!!! Thanks for sharing your wisdom and experience with us!
Aww thank you so much for watching and you’re welcome, I’m happy to share ❤️
Thank you so much for thus video. I have two questions. If I have proof that I just put a brand new cadillac converter and entire ac system equating $6,000 (done by the dealer)...can that be included in evaluating a higher ask for my car. Also my car has a dent in the bumper and a tiny bend in the bar underneath, the but car is drivable nothing us lose, do I have to get it repared can I drive it with a salvage title. I'm in Florida. Thx
Thank you for watching! Typically you can present the proof of items you purchased for the car to your adjuster and it may enhance the value. Don’t expect to get full reimbursement but if it’s new it’ll definitely enhance the value. I’m not familiar with the salvage process in Florida, you’d have to speak with your adjuster for specifics. In CA though if the vehicle is deemed a total loss, a salvage title will be placed on it regardless if it’s been fixed.
Hi Kela, what kind of adjusting do you do? Property? Liability?
Hey! I’m a property adjuster
@@kelatrishaan6435 What would you say are the main bottlenecks in a property adjuster's routine that prevents them from handling more claims/making more money?
Great video. Great info. I worked in P&C from 2016-2020. Left insurance. Went into home building from 2020-2023. Now just got my adj license and I’m learning xactimate .. trying to gain all the info I can to try and be the best equipped I can to go into field adjusting ❤
Thank you so much and I appreciate you watching! You’re on the right track, learning Xactimate is key and the license will make you more marketable.
I was working for Wardlaw making bank as an IA for a couple months and out of nowhere no one was getting claims literally since February no one has gotten claims for Wardlaw. So I’m looking for a new job but no one wants to bring me on for some reason I literally have the experience and everything.
I’m so sorry to hear that and I wish I had some advice for you in the IA space. If you’re interested I’d recommend looking into being a staff adjuster or even public adjuster to see what opportunities there are that would work for you
I’m thinking of keeping my 4 year old home to save this 300 weekly on daycare I usually supervise wfh but taking a senior claims role not sure if it’s a good idea to keep him home your son just seems so chill
Oh this was a few years ago when he was chill lol these days I have him in daycare/pre school. If it comes down to it I can handle him while I’m working but it’s not something that would be ideal for a busy day. I feel you on saving the money though do what’s best for your household because that’s what matters.
Im an auto adjuster and I’ve been going back and forth on going to the homeowner’s side. I’ve also been looking into commercial line more so on Cargo.
Oh yeah I think I may look into commercial as well, seems interesting. Good luck to you!
Really great information, I also enjoyed total loss. Each day was a challenge and never the same. Has homeowner adjusting have the same fast pace and challenges?
Thank you Chris and yes that was a great job! Homeowner claims is a whole different beast. There’s a pretty big learning curve if you’re not familiar with building materials, but after that it’s managing workload, working with Public adjusters and attorneys and people that are in disarray because of their homes.
😂😂😂😂 OJ isnt OJ anymore! Lol 💀
🤣🤣🤣
Those eyes! 🥰

Omg! You are so beautiful! Keep going Queen
Thank you!!
Thanks for this info! You're pleasant to watch. Thank you making these videos. I realize they're a bit old, however, I'm sure not allot has changed. 😊
You’re so welcome and I appreciate you watching! Yeah a lot of the info is still the same lol but I do plan to do some updated videos for things that have changed ❤️

Thanks for pointing that out. It’s an old video and I was pretty new to editing.
would you be able to do your job while abroad ?
That’s a good question. I’m sure there is a way but I haven’t come across one.
Can you also talk about the claims adjuster licensing?
Yeah I can put together a video discussing licensing, I’ll put something together.
Very Informative and clear. Thank you, Kela for your insight! It really helped me understand what I am looking to get into.
You’re so welcome! Thank you for watching!
What's the point of keeping a car that's totaled and trying to fix it yourself? Is the insurance still paying the person?
What's the point of keeping a car that's totaled and trying to fix it yourself? Is the insurance still paying the person?
Some people can’t afford to buy another car, and just because the car is deemed a total doesn’t always mean it can’t be driven. The insurance will still pay but it’s a lower settlement.
@@kelatrishaan6435 oh ok I see
If you don't mind me asking what city are you in. Just tying to get an idea of the city size that would get that many claims per day or per week.
No worries, I’m in Los Angeles!
By being a desk adjuster how do you inspect and estimate claims being at a desk
You’d inspect through photos and vendors that inspect on your behalf
