Jean Francaix (1912-1997): Rondino-Staccato for cello and piano. Henrik Dam Thomsen - Cello Ulrich Stærk - Piano Photo: Maiken Ingvordsen Text: Esben Tange Rondino-staccato is a technical tour de force, especially for the cellist. The music comes from the comic opera Le diable boiteux (1937) - The Devil on Two Sticks - and the devil has actually set a small trap in Rondino-staccato as the piece...

Does anyone know where one can find the sheet music for this arrangement?
Très belle vidéo, et très belle interprétation ! Un régal pour les yeux et pour les oreilles...
Bravo♥️
These recordings are exquisite. I am a cellist and this is my favorite kind of music to play. Your interpretation and tone and technique make these sound perfect. Please record more!!
He's so amazingly still throughout this performance. It really shows his dedication to his art. Beautiful.
So wonderful, thank you for taking the time with this one, when someone plays it faster it loses much of its longing, tenderness, sadness and beauty.
Very good tempo with a beautiful and lively way to play this piece, bravo !
Qué maravilla 😍
More!! Delightful
berceuse pour l'âme qui cherche son reflet dans l'eau. Mais l'eau est rarement limpide....
i don't figured out why this video isn't trending
My favourite piece of music, done so many, many ways, but this makes me cry
Beautiful!
Tempo is just right for me
Absolutely beautiful.
Stunning composition and performance. Thanks to you I discover jewels of beauty. Shared on my fb profile.
🥰🥰😍😍😋😋
Terrible camera work. We never, and I mean never, get to see anything meaningful. We get distance shots, and closeups of the middle of the bow, or the face, and every 4-5 the viewpoint changes. There’s a disembodied hand, there a face profile, and just before the recap, we saw four different shots of the face, but almost nothing of the hands, and no full body shots except from 30 feet away. Set the camera about ten feet away, for a full body viewpoint and then don’t touch the camera. The only way to listen to this is with eyes closed. Sheesh. Wonderful playing but mindless camera work.
Un peu vite pour une berceuse, non?
C supportable mais je ne vais pas dire que j adore
Ducoup t'as rien d'intéressant à dire
Too fast, I think
i think the speed varies between each player, as we each have different reactions to it, however i am learning this piece and would too use the speed in the video
Very beautiful interpretation , congratulations.
Lovely!♥️👏

Thank you for sharing these beautiful recordings. Did you arrange the pieces yourself? If so, do you sell them?
Beautiful
Congratulations for your very sensitive interpretation. And for the accompaniment too. Jacques Françaix, the composer's son.
Dear mr Francaix. Extremely happy and proud to read these words from you. We will continue presenting the beautiful music of your father. Thank you very much. Ulrich and Henrik
Bravo! Thanks for the tour de force performance.
You should state that this a transcription by Maurice Gendron of a (flute piece in an opera?) by Jean Francaix.
Is this a transcription of a piano piece? Lovely!
It's from a ballet. Les demoiselles de la Nuit. Thanks
Thank you for these videos! The explanations and descriptions are much appreciated. Looking forward to future videos :)
