Unfortunately i couldn't change mine..after removing the 9 screws well my only had like 6, the plate dint came up.

Would have been....more helpful...removing the actual part from the roof ...

Sadly we are all looking to replace that button as it’s broken. On mine the top is forward so the plate does not lift off. How do I release the arm test so I can access the lower plates????

I cannot get this to work, and I’m pulling this will all my might.

Re-installing it can be very problematic. I've done it several times and the technique I now use is to first spray a little WD-40 on the spring. Then align the spring in the mirror with the slot in the base. Keep it level and then deliver a few solid blows at the spring with a medium sized rubber mallet. It takes quite a bit of force to seat it flush. It can be done with your fist but it's much easier and quicker with the mallet, and a lot less stressful.

Just bought a SL500 last week and when inspecting the details at home I found out that the Armrest Push Button is broken. I was disappointed and expected a nightmare to fix it. Thanks to Classic Trim Parts it seems just "a hand full of Dollars" away which made my day ... Will order soon, but beforehand I will check for other things on my car.

Very useful! I figured out myself how to dismantle it. Your description is spot on. My Japanese spec '95 car has an additional yellow 3-pin connector that is easy to take apart with a small screwdriver. Watched a couple of your videos now. You got a new subscriber. Thank you so much for that video! My SL came with the mirror housing taped together and everything fell apart when I barely touched it. Had a hard time figuring out how the spring clips fit. I was always trying to get them into the housing instead of the frame. Mystery solved now!

Hi, so I ran the code on my car WDBFA66E4NF039738 and the interior color came back as Java Yet looking at your web site this color was for the years 1999 2000 and my car is a 1992 and I always though it was palomino and according to your site Palomino was for years 1990 - 1992 which is correct. Weird for sure.

Hello, I recently purchased one of your soft top handles for my 98 SL600. It was perfect, thank you! I recently purchased this vehicle and cannot get my center console/arm rest to open. It doesn’t appear to be an issue with the vacuum system since the side button to open locks/unlocks and the front portion comes unlatched when attempting to open. It’s the back half that refuses to release and I’m not sure what could be causing this and I’m afraid to pry it open with force. Do you have any suggestions or experience dealing with this?

A rating of 10 is extremely difficult for such an engineered R129. There is no doubt this vehicle shown is an excellent model. Now if I could only drop off my beautiful 1998 SL500 with Classic Trim Parts to have it meticulously detailed to this level !!❤

A trim tool would ne better to use , than a small object.

Better then any Pagani. The AMG 73 R129 with panoramic roof can’t be beaten or even compared to anything else on wheels IMHO

Recently purchased L&R Vanity Mirrors from Classic Trim Parts for my 1995 SL500. Parts are high quality and well worth the cost. Hopefully Classic will make a mirror cover replacement for my model year soon.
