This playlist intermittently occupies my second monitor, and I'm glad you continue to find wads to play, as I continue to watch. I wish I had more monitors.

These crufty old wads are so dreadful I almost fail to see why anyone would play them 30 years later. But then I figure it's a historical thing.

so from what i can gather, this is basically a bizarre crossover of DOOM and famous figures in the art scene. it makes slightly more sense once you look up some of the people (nam june paik was a famous video artist, hence why he attacks with a video remote), but even with some of the context this is still really strange points for originality at least!

It was an art project shown at the Ars Electronica 95 convention held in Linz, Austria in 1995. I tried linking to the Doomworld page on it but the comment was deleted probably due to the hyperlink. You play as a religious extremist destroying the artwork for the project, and the heads are the artists, and they don't attack. A statement piece, basically.

What a quirky, goofy level. This left me with so many questions: Why does the 10 foot tall murderbot scream like a man passing a kidney stone when you kill it? Why are there teleporting moon wizards? Is that authorization acknowledged message from the OG Star Trek? Why do I kinda like this level? POWER. POWER. POWER. You're doing gods work, MeatySpag, playing these levels so we don't have to.

I like the chop.

I can appreciate when a map maker changes sounds up. Running From Evil is a great song, but you can only hear it so many times before installing Jimmy’s Jukebox. Item pickup sound changes are usually obnoxious, but the ones in this map are fine. And even the monster sound changes can be refreshing if the mapper gives the player enough of a chance to see what made the new sound (to avoid nasty surprises). Also, neat map!

Ok, the meat cave at 5:45 was cool, but there's a reason the Id guys didn't throw every new monster in Doom 2 at you in the very first map; it spoils the fun and pacing. And tightrope walking over death pits? In a MAP01? Unforgivable. Edit: what a wholesome message about literacy oh wait nevermind.
