Pit boss pellet smokers suck. You can’t get good smoke flavor , that’s why people are putting in smoker boxes with wood chips . They also can’t keep a constant temperature
@keithburton3713 maybe your not using it correctly. I have never had an issue. Most people think it is just like a traditional stick burner and get tons of smoke. That is why they have a smoke setting to produce more smoke. Sorry you don't like your PB
I just dip a soaked paper towel into some ashes in the bottom of my smoker and scrub it with that. And wipe clean with another wet towel. I never have to prep anything just use some water and clean ashes. It can be cold too. Doesn’t have to be warm.

I did all the steps correctly and about 30 min into the burnoff process, I got an error for the igniter. I retried 3 more times and the igniter is not lighting. Very disappointed. The only thing they (pit boss CS) could do was send me a new igniter but who knows when it will arrive. I'm very disappointed because up until that everything else seemed to be running smoothly. I also purchased mine at Lowe's.
I am sorry to hear that. The good news is when they have sent me parts they usually get here pretty fast. Plus they tend to send a bottle of seasonings.

This video made life easy for me today. Used it on my new Pit Boss Vertical smoker Today. Worked just like you said it would. Then I smoked some wings and hot links in it with a tube smoker. Excellent flavor. Thank you.
I'd like to make a suggestion to your subscribers on the way I clean the glass on my vertical smoker. Take a small damp cloth and with a corner of the cloth, dip it in the ash from the burn pot and clean the glass. Grud comes right off. I use this technique to clean the glass on my wood burning stove
This is how I clean mine. Almost effortlessly just water and some ashes and paper towels.

I just got one of these I had the 1st series of it. .mine seems to never be the temperature that the control panel shows. Have you noticed that with yours?
There will always a small swing in the temp since it is such a large unit. But i have not had a huge swing with the difference. How much of a difference are you having
@@gavensgoodeatsbbq4162 around 15 degrees sometimes 20. I have made sure the probe is clean. I didn't know if it was because the temp probe is in the back by the vent or what.

Thanks! So a mix of th3 charcoal pellet and wood pellet gives a mote smokey flavor? I got a nice pitt boss but have been so disappointed with the wood fired and smoke flavor. Or lack there of.
Yes but i always run a smoke tube when cooking anything. Huge difference.. only like 9 bucks on Amazon. Happy smoking my friend

Just getting one of these. We can’t get the auger to turn. I saw/heard where you said it can take 6-7 minutes so we will try that. Any advice??
If your auger will not turn you may have to takenit back. Did you by chance look in the hopper amd make sure nothing was in the bottom??? My 850 took about 4 to 5 minutes to drop pellets, my vertical less than a min, but if the auger is not functioning there is another issue. Call pitboss. 480-923-9630

Great video ! I use "cleaning vinegar" on my Pit Boss.. Lowes or Home Depot. With a Scotch pad. Sometimes a razor blade for the tough spots.
The cleaning vinegar also works great on your whites/laundry .. no kidding

No, but i would definitely make sure nothing is making contact with your fan, leaf, plastic from your original box, etc.....

Hi I'm new to your channel I'm checking out the new vertical pit Boss series 6 at Lowe's is yours been working pretty good I noticed a smoke tube in there I've been offset I never had a pellet smoker before that's the one kind of looking at doing mostly briskets and ribs get one like yours for 500 or then newer series 6 is like 900
Bro i have had mine for just over a year and a half, my PS vertical 4, and have used the shit out of it. I did have to replace my auger motor but it was under warranty and extremely easy to put in. And they do put off smoke but not the smoke you are used to with a stick burner. I love the smoke tube, you can put it in and get a little or a ton of smoke depending on your preference. Yes, always keep a water pan full. I use a LG aluminum pan for long cooks... happy smoking my friend
