    I’m not criticizing. I’m simply asking, the crown race in the beginning it almost look like it was put in upside down but this is a nice build. I’m probably getting one soon. I used to have the chameleon. I sold it and regret it.

    she's a beauty except for the back brake and cable tape.

    4:14 I'd put several layers of tape between frame and cable before securing it to lessen paint rub. Dia Compe cable clamps aren't expensive, either.

    How is the Highball different than a Carbon Chameleon?

    • @lirrtrainwreck
      @lirrtrainwreck 8 місяців тому

      The chameleon has interchangeable dropouts so you can make it a single speed or you can run 27.5. Also I think the stack is higher. It has a slightly more upright position. The highball is definitely a cross country race machine.

    1:17: why remove the stem cap? Just put the handlebars in after unscrewing a bit. 1:30 ream the bottom bracket shell... You are in a workshop. Don't tell me you don't have something to ream the frame...! 4:16 use a cable guide set please!

    Can't believe those are 38 tires, they look like 50 rather! Do you think mudguards would fit with 650b rims?

    I like the color! Doesn’t the wheels paint job wear out as you brake?

      They do a little bit. The front wheel more than the back one. I have similar whiles on my bike and I use it every day, the black is mostly faded off the front wheel now

    What is the name of the tool you used to pull the cable housing through the frame? It looks as though you threaded something on a blue string and used it pull the housing?

    what is exact frame weight ?

  • @datdudeinred
    @datdudeinred 4 роки тому

    You really should have weighted the frame before building & should have compared to official figures that is especially important in xc bikes. 👎

    Did you end up doing any cable sound suppression? I have the same frame and was curious if you got any cable rattle.

    • @1ucas.mcgarity
      @1ucas.mcgarity 4 роки тому

      I haven’t noticed any cable rattle but I’m usually more focused on other things when I’m riding it 😄
