Fishing with the Intex Challenger K1 Was Awesome For $90

I purchased this inflatable for $90 before the price skyrocketed. It served me well for fishing on a budget for two years. I have purchased the NRS Kuda 106 and so made my final excursion with this Intex Challenger K1.

Phenomenal videos on your channel.
I'm looking to take mine out for the first time this Friday and give it a good cleaning, hopefully after getting it covered in my first fish slime, lol.
@@FishingWithLou That's super! I can't wait until next year when I add a YakAttack rod holder. I do have a small crate behind my seat with couple holders. But the rods lay down real nice, too. Have a great time!
@kimharman9402 thank you. Are you using an anchor with it. Think that's what I may be missing before I go
That chicken looks delicious 😊
I miss New Jersey 😢 looks beautiful and peaceful
Florida has some nice places, too! I've heard of a place called Sunken Gardens and that is very pretty, there.
I missed the part where you had a channel too!?
I was just interested in what you were doing! Yeah mine is just a bit of messing around when I can get to it.
Been there too! I just subscribed
I just got mine and I love it
Niiice!!
Hello I’m relatively new to fishing and I can’t really afford a high quality kayak but I want to start kayak fishing. Would you recommend this one? I’ve been looking at it and haven’t decided to pull the trigger or not
If it's definitely an inflatable you need, then yes this one is an inexpensive option to get you on the water. I wanted a hard shell kayak, initially, but didn't space for it. The Intex has some drawbacks because it's not designed with fishing in mind. Also, deflating is a pain. But I happily dealt with process to be out on the water catching fish! Consider an Intex 12v inflate/deflate pump with it.
That's a big one 😳
i think ur videos are rly cool! keep them up.
Thanks a bunch! 😊
"Look' 😮 Cool 😎 are you going to do a unboxing for the new one. Are you going to video record you opening the new one and going for a spin
Thanks, bub! Yes, I plan on doing some sort of introduction video to the new kayak!
I have a question. How do you know what snakes bite or not. When I see a snake i think it bits 😮 🐍
If you don't know, just assume it does. That way, you'll always be safe. Also, pick up a snake identification book. I had one when I was a little boy and knew the garter snake was harmless.
Ring neck snakes also
I haven't had the pleasure of seeing one of those, yet. But my wife spotted one outside our front door, recently.
"WOW" your 1st caught was great 😃👍🏼 and nice view looks so peaceful and relaxing. Enjoying the view looks nice 🙂💯
I see the catch 🪝 wow 🤯
Looks scary 😳
Hey, Hector! Yes It was. Thankfully, no one died in that one. We were close by.
Really nice! So pretty there
That music works really well. Good job
Hey thank you! 🙂
It s ok fosr fishing ?
It isn't designed for fishing but you can get away with it if you're on a low budget.
What does it feel like catching a fish in this kayak? I mean is it stable enough to fight the fish?
Oh yeah it is definitely stable enough; the kayak will turn towards the fish on the hookset but not in an unstable manner. It does get uncomfortable sitting in after a couple hours. I'll be upgrading to an NRS Kuda this year now that I'm ok with the inflation/deflation. Also, the slightest breeze pushes it. I bought a mushroom anchor - haven't tried it yet.
@@kimharman9402 Cheers! Those are some good informations. I'm thinking about getting one for myself, since I would use it just a couple times a year for fishing and maybe with my kids while on vacation in Italy or so. So thanks for the info!

"WOW"😲 That's a Beautiful View of The Lake. That's Amazing And Nice Catching The Fish.
Thanks, Hector!
good job! im thinking of buying this kayak for fishing, but i have a question. how is the storage on it? i want to hold 3 rods and a bag with it
There is virtually no storage. There is only the netting up front to put things under. Keep in mind that this kayak is only a cheap way to get out on the water (when I purchased this it was only $90). I now know in the near future I want a NRS Pike inflatable.
The Challenger K2 is basically the same kayak but made for two people. If you just use the one seat in it you'd have plenty of storage space.
Great video man, one thing that i do with this kayak is i put a small folded tarp infront under the net so i can put fish there and it also protects the front of your kayak against your fishing hook
Nice tip! One of the little add-ons I did was a light milk crate on the back secured with the existing rope (untied and retied). Thank you!
You sure that was a beaver? Its tail was pointed? Subbed to the channel, dude!
I'm not really sure but I know there are beaver in the area. I'm not sure what else lives around there. Time for me to do a little proper research! Subbed as well!
@@kimharman9402 I think it’s a river otter, which is an even more impressive find.
@@DpuckFishingandOutdoors oh sweet. Yeah I just quickly read up that they are in the area, too. Man! Learning something new everyday.
That bird was playing with fire.
The exact same thing happened to me trying to grab one. Of course, it was a baby and I had fishing gloves on. 😛Got it on camera too.
The little boy in us just has to play. Got it posted?
@@kimharman9402 I do. It’s in video titled “How do you catch these suckers.”
At least you got the picture of the perch before it jumped ship
😆
Fellow newbie fisherman here, just picked up the same kayak (my first one ever!) to go river fishing with my friends. Glad to see you having a good time with it, gotta say it’s inspiring! Very excited to hit the water now.
Very cool. Hey it's a small process inflating and deflating but worth it. I am never able to get nicely folded until I get home. I blow it up and hose it off. I aim a fan on it in the garage to dry off a bit. The I let the air out and let it sit until I can pack it up.
Afe you ising crank bait?
In this video I was using a Rapala jerk bait. I didn't even know what a crank bait was, yet. 😆 But by Fall I did. You will see I was also using a wacky rig after I lost the jerk bait.
That's awesome! Fish on!
You da man!
Nice video, I want to ask if this boat is too tight on the legs or it is fine? Please can anyone reply?
As a matter of fact, it is quite snug at the feet. My feet have to turn a little sideways. This is not too uncomfortable for me that it takes away the enjoyment. I forget about it in the first minute of paddling off. My legs are not too cramped. I am 5' 10", 184lbs.
@@kimharman9402 thanks a lot, appreciate your reply
Был такой😂 Прикольная штука.Но без жилета рыбачить не рекомендую.Особенно с блеснами )))
You said: "It was like this😂 Cool stuff. But I do not recommend fishing without a vest. Especially with spinners)))"
Thank you for enjoying! And thank you for the life vest reminder! It's the time of year to go fishing again here in New Jersey.

É um caiaque inflável. Espero fazer mais vídeos neste verão. Obrigado, fico feliz que tenha gostado!
You’re making this look too easy. 😂
Wow solid perch catches! I’m thinking about getting one of these kayaks since I can’t find any lakes with good bank spots. Would you definitely recommend it? A little worried about the durability and poking a hole with a hook.
Not really a problem with hooks piercing the material. It's pretty tough. It's got that netting, though, in the front and I accidentally caught my trebles on there. I couldn't bend forward far enough to unhook them. That was a real pain and I ended up cutting some net to get them. But I've really been enjoying this kayak. It's not great like a hard kayak. But it gets you out there enjoying the lake. And you can easily store it away. Who knows how long it will last. But it's been fun, so far.
pickles! haha I def have to try a homemade one. Thanks for sharing Dad :D
Was it deep enough everywhere for the canoes
Just barely enough in some spots. There are times when at least one person had to step out and pull the canoe over the gravel in the inches-deep water. Or you had to do the 2-person scooch motion (in sync) to move the canoe forward bits at a time until the water picks you up, again. But this wasn't frequent enough to take away the enjoyment of the trip. It just added to the adventure!

Nice video…glad to see that I can fish in this kayak. I have one just like it.
Love this. Great video to watch first thing in the morning with my coffee. Thanks and have a great day!
Looks like an awesome day to fish. Great resolution. What type of camera did you use? Fantastic video!
Thanks! The camera is a Sony HDR-AS15 Action Cam. I picked it up a month before on Craigslist for $75 for a canoe trip next week (down the Wading River in the NJ Pine Barrens).
@@kimharman9402 thanks! I just subbed to your channel. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos. Randy
I had my K1 on the River Ancholme yesterday.... great fun. Never thought about a spot of fishing while i'm at it...... I'm thinking, catch a big an and you suddenly have a speed boat
I just looked up that river - nice! Yeah if you catch a 3lb'er, you'll be dragged along for sure. But here in southern New Jersey (in between Philadelphia, Atlantic City, and the state of Delaware) significant sized fish are hard to come by unless you fish saltwater. The small ones, though, do pull you to face them in a subtle manner.
@@kimharman9402 I thought you was in the UK. Ancholme would mean nothing to you then. Nothing exciting but a place to play with the challenger ua-cam.com/video/mlpgZdeQfxk/v-deo.html
Wow a perch and a pickerel off the bat?? This was very inspiring. I bought the same kayak last week and registered it last night to finally try it out this weekend. Scared to fish with the hooks but like you said… there’s just some spots you wanna get to that you can’t get from shore. Thanks for taking us along on the trip, awesome vid 😁
The hooks sort of just bounce off that durable kayak material. But you really want to be careful of getting your hook in the netting while out there. Enjoy!
registered it? really? what state/location? (I wasn't aware inflatables needed to be registered?)
@@sdriza I just looked it up and turns out some states require it, though some also vary on whether there's a motor. D.C., Ohio, and Delaware are some that require registration. It wasn't necessary here in NJ, happy to say.
@@kimharman9402 Thanks! I've been reading up on it... (Turns out, I've been operating illegally the last few years and didn't know it... just subbed too! Thanks)
@@sdriza In Ontario Canada we don't have to register a kayak but if a motor is used on it then you need a pleasure craft license. This is for all motorized watercraft used on the water.
