The shallow wrecks off of the Everglades are teaming with big permit. And big sharks! When we hook a permit, we gently idle the boat away from the wreck, without yanking or alarming the permit. They will usually swim along like a dog on a leash if we stay smooth and easy, and this accomplishes two things, getting the fish away from the structure, and just as importantly, gets the fish away from...

The permit are so thick right now down on the shallow wrecks south of Everglades City, we ran out of live crabs and still got one on a DOA Shrimp! Watch the bull shark explode on it near the end!
