Great to see you posting again! Welcome back to UA-cam
Wow so beautiful!
Thank you! 😊
Thinking to go in just a few days. I offered the Eastern Trail people 2 months (free) of my time to help revamp the trails... but never got an answer (did work on the Transcanada Trail 20 some years ago, for a period of 6 months. Has any of your friends ever done the whole trail? In two months, let's say?
Between which two points specifically are you planning to hike? There are two trails on the island of Newfoundland that are part of the Trans Canada Trail (a third is in Labrador). There's the T'Railway, 847.2 km, crossing Newfoundland from Port aux Basques to St. John's on a former railway bed. Then there's the East Coast Trail on the Avalon Peninsula, which is 328 km. Harry and I completed the T'Railway, (cycling and hiking), though some portions were closed due to washouts. We had vehicle support, allowing us to bypass impassable sections and visit national parks and northern fishing villages like Bonavista and Elliston’s puffin viewing area and root cellars. We haven’t hiked the East Coast Trail yet but plan to do so in the future. We made 4 videos of our travels on the T'Railway-a playlist of the 4 videos can be found here: TC TRAIL - NEWFOUNDLAND ua-cam.com/play/PLmcjhBdhcssPB365OirN3138Ifx6FSnpp.html
I've spent hundreds of rides on this trail, especially Navan to Bourget. Bourget is a jewel. There's a secret shortcut west of Anderson Road, Ottawa that gets you to the back of businesses on Innis Road if you don't mind a bumpy single groove path between two fields followed by a left turn through the woods over a strangely out of place high quality bridge. I take this every single time.
Thank you for your shortcut suggestion linking the Prescott Russell pathway to Ottawa paths! It sounds fantastic, and I appreciate you sharing it. While I can’t cycle your route before my next video, I definitely want to check it out in the future. Once I do, I’ll share my experience. Thanks again for contributing to the channel!
I'm so sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well! Thank you for putting out this video anyways. Another great one 😊
Thank you!
No worries! We will all be here when you are feeling better.
Rocky Harbour is on the west coast of Newfoundland, NOT the east coast of the island. Otherwise, a nice video...
Thank you for noticing that! Despite the focus of the video being on the west coast, I accidentally said Rocky Harbour was on the east coast at one point. It was a slip of the tongue, and I appreciate your understanding. I'll add a note in the video description to clarify this for everyone. Thanks for your sharp ears and support!
I need your help... As i Will leave Guatemala in 10 days. If i was to walk on that trail, i have six months off, where could i sleep? Looks to me that i could not just pitch my tent anywhere... Thank You!
I’m sending you a link to the Canadian trail map and website. tctrail.ca/explore-the-map/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAopuvBhBCEiwAm8jaMcJtD-GPM0vSAq-WZr_uz2SI7NS5bD6QVCsmTvH1GvOdOGSW0CYtbRoCEHIQAvD_BwE. On the map there is a search box where you can type in "Voyageur Cycling Route", which is the route I took in the 2 UA-cam videos. Throughout the map, if you enlarge any section, you can see camping locations which appear as small brown circles with a tent. Restrooms and picnic areas are also shown on the map. The voyageur cycling route is much longer than the part (178 km) I covered on UA-cam. I only cycled from North Bay to Sudbury, which is also part of the Canadian trail, the focus of my own journey. But the voyageur cycling route is some 600+ km long and goes from Ottawa to Sudbury. If that is of interest to you, I suggest contacting Voyageur Cycling Route Facebook Group. I don’t have first hand knowledge of the trail, except for the portion I cycled, and they would have more details. Tourist information sites for the towns of Sudbury and North Bay would also be able to confirm which campgrounds are open and if reservations are needed. I hope that helps.
@@hikingfordayz Thank you. Much appreciated. Have a good night! 24 degrees here in Southern Guatemala!
@@hikingfordayz Hi. Did find this map as well... But it does not seem to show where to camp for free (like on Crown's land). Sent a message to many people that work for the Transcanada trail but i guess they are still sipping on their coffee! I worked in the Matawinie section around 30 years ago. Cutting branches. Building small bridges over small creeks. Platforms over some rocks to have a view of valleys... Will never forget this expérience and the people i worked with!
Really interesting to see what this trail is actually like to bike. Thanks for sharing!
Super enjoying the Ontario series. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoy it!
Nice video and helpful information. Cheers.
Hey thanks!
Nice video. Thanks for sharing. 👍5
The moose is awesome🙂
The rocky landscapes are very nice.
The rocks were amazing, deep red colours with ribbons of contrasting colour. Tufts of moss and lichens are on top. I'll show more of them in the next episode, Lavigne to Sudbury. 🚴♀️
Nice video. Thank you for sharing. 👍5
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you for the videos it is clear that the great trail north of Toronto needs allot of work to be made safer for cyclists and hikers both
Very true!
Nice video. Thank you for sharing. Subd &👍11
Thank you so much, and welcome!!!
❤❤❤ we love this trail ❤❤❤
So happy you loved it! It's definitely one of the best trails I've come across, offering superb facilities, safety, and overall happy atmosphere. Ideal for families, solo travelers, and everyone in between!
Amazing!! Thanks for caputring this
Appreciate your support ❤️
Quite an exciting adventure you encountered!
We see more in the spring before the leaves come out.
Beautiful woodlands
They are!
Beautiful area of Canada thanks for bringing me along!
Any time!
Really enjoyed this episode! The views the whales and the townsite were incredible. Thanks so much!
The US National Seashores have been really amazing so far. We’ve been to 4 of 10. Most are on the east coast, making it a relatively short trip for us.
What a lovely trail!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you.
Most welcome! 🙂
So beautiful! Love the relaxing narrative. Thanks!
Thank you too!
Beautiful shots! I can't wait to try this hike myself
Have fun!
Great video! Always enjoy watching your video and love the narratives. This Ottawa trail is on my bucket list. Thanks for the amazing production!
Thank you! ❤️
great video...the music was too loud, hard to hear your very good comments!
Thank you so much for your feedback! I truly appreciate it. I've gone ahead and adjusted the audio mix to ensure that my voice narration is clearer and easier to hear over the music. (It takes several hours for UA-cam to process the changes, so ready on Tuesday). Your input helps me improve the quality of my content, and I'm grateful for it.
you are welcome! This trail is really...also like the Friendship trail...perfect layout. My wife's favourite trail would be the Niagara River trail, from Willoughby to Fort Erie...very scenic, and all off road. My favourite trail is from Waterford, down through Simcoe and Port Dover...nicely shaded!
Thanks for sharing your favorite trail! The trail through Simcoe sounds like a hidden treasure. Although I've completed all the trans Canada trails on the Niagara Peninsula, the one through Simcoe awaits. I'll definitely check it out!
nice trail, on a hot summer day...almost all shaded! @@hikingfordayz
This looks like a lot of fun! I love watching your videos

Faire du vélo au Québec, c'est fantastique. Les sentiers sont incroyables, les commodités sont numéro 1 et le paysage est magnifique ❤️
beautifully shot.
Thank you so much!
Beautiful wildlife
It really is!
Love the relaxing presentation
Thank you!
Great trip! I hope to visit there one day. I like seeing the carnivorous plants. They are quite interesting.
I hope you get the chance to visit! The island is quirky and full of surprises, and we found the people we met to be wonderfully witty, with an endearing dark sense of humor. If possible, aim for a visit when the icebergs are floating past.
Your trip looks amazing, thanks for sharing guys!
Most welcome!
Another great one! Thanks for sharing
