How much are they asking for the 2008 Cadillac DTS?
How much are they asking for the 2008 Cadillac DTS?
Price range is quite wide, quite a large spread, depending on location and condition. I've seen $3500 up to $20,000
How much money do they want for it.
?
you have to learn how to DIY and slowly accumulate tools .Im low income and right now have a 99 deville ,BMW turbo convertible but for every day?? Honda CRV!
That touchscreen is dumb. Get aftermarket so you can get CarPlay plus streaming Bluetooth. I’m looking at buying a dts and will rip out the screen if it comes with it
I have the 07 dts I love it and also had the 04 century it was a beautiful car for my 2nd car
Nice subaru! I just picked a 2006 outback 83,000 miles. And needed new head gaskets. Other than that I like the car. I got it cheap so the repairs were worth it. Best wishes Ben from your old neighbors in Idaho.
It’s look like a Peugeot 404
@@ericdenis495 Pininfarina designed both. I sometimes think he cheated/got lazy and just slightly tweaked one design for both companies lol
You saved the video!
Looking forward to finishing up your Subaru vid 😁
Do you still have it and if so what problems has it had?
Howdy! Yep, still have it, still love it and she's still running strong! Absolutely no serious issues whatsoever. Little stuff (broke a belt a few weeks ago, easy peasy to replace) but nothing that has caused me to change my opinion: It's a great car!
To start a British car of this era always start in neutral without depressing the clutch even when warm. Actually they were pretty awful compared to other British saloons of the era. In the UK they rotted through in 2 years.
If you want to try something fun with a Northstar. Put a half a tank of E-85 in it and hold on. (don't do it in the rain) You'll see a whole different personality.
Loved my Cadillacs
We are becoming a Cadillac family. My dad owned 10 of them over his life and although he passed away in 1994, my wife picked up the tradition in 2002 buying a brand new White Diamond Deville. She still has it- That's our number 1. Then she bought a 2017 CT6 black over black. Then she goes to a garage sale in 2021 and finds a 2011 DTS that's being sold by owner. Only 32,000 miles. Cherry Red .She buys it. Now we are up to three. Then I see on Bring a Trailer a beautiful Silk Green 2006 DTS with a dark green canvas top. I buy it. Now we are up to four. The favorite? All three 'old school' Deville/ DTS's. You can have the CT6- too much 'performance suspension' for us- it's just not a Cadillac anymore. Still a nice car and beautiful too but give me the old ones with the Northstar. By the way my wife's 2002 has 161,000 miles and she's running strong with only minor repairs in 22 years! AC Still blows cold too.
I love my mint condition 07 DTS on Vogues with only 55k miles. Garage kept and it does not see rain or snow. I have it on top of a 3 inch rubber mat that covers the length of the car to separate it from the concrete….I call it Pharaoh’s Chariot💪🙂
Hi, I. A classic Mini owner as well. I just moved to Boise Area and I'm looking for other Classic Mini owners in the area. Please let me know if you know of any in the area. Thanks
Malt run please get ahold of me Justice Stitch
I own an '07 and I love it, it's everything you have said. I first drove one (an '06) in 2007 my dad had, and fell in love with these cars. My son has the platinum triple black edition (2010) and THAT was my dream car back in 2010 (no way I could afford it though). They are wonderful cars. They are still around today but thier numbers are dwindling. Love your presentation on this car.
Where are you guys located at
Currently in Texas but we move about the western side of the US :)
Whats not to like about this car? I get that the Northstar is questionable but by 2008 they were much improved. At one time you could get these very reasonable but everything now is priced way more than they are worth. I would have no problem having that car as my everyday driver.
I love it!
Beautiful ! 😍😍 I wasn't aware they were market in North America! 😳😳 I don't remember seeing them growing up in Pennsylvania,in the 70s & 80s. I saw 60s Ford Anglias,Ford Cortinas,Hillman Minxes,Sunbeam Arrows(Hillman Hunters),Sunbeam Rapiers/Alpines & of course Triumph sports cars,etc. Also 70s Ford Capris,Hillman Avengers(Plymouth Crickets) & Austin Marinas/Morris Marinas.
My 06 Dts keeps leaking something. Only 77k miles on it. Finding large spots on the ground on the passenger side by the front tire. What could it be? Power steering fluid? Idk🤔
This is such a great video! Thank you for sharing that adventure~
A Cambridge was my first car in 1969, cost £365. Unfortunately three years later I rolled it into a field on an icey road in a Scottish glen.
A friend of mine went there back in 2014 to take his freshly built Dante’s Peak suburban replica as the movie was filmed there. The movie was played during the festival later that day.
i just bought my first car which happens to be a 2006 Cadillac DTS Luxury ii. Fucking love this car. Its so comfy. Quick enough. And the best part, It was 6 grand with 62k miles, IN THE DARK BLUE. By far the best color. Plus remote start and the 17 inch chrome wheels.
Those a body buicks ran in the same body style from 82/96 with just fascia refreshes and trim shuffles. I had an 85 good car but under powered and rusted worse then any car ever made.
i OWN 2007 DTS
The Northstar system is very expensive to repair and maintain because of how it's built (where certain parts are located) and how tight the engine bay is. I was thinking of getting one but I think I'll get a Lincoln Town car instead, cheaper to fix and definitely an engine that goes 300-400K
Just bought my first Cadillac..an 08 DTS. Little old lady owned, only 17,600 miles on the odometer. My great grandfather owned one before he passed. I couldn’t believe the miles and picked it up immediately.
That's wonderful! So far so good? Happy with your purchase?
@@spiriteddrivesunreliablecars totally. Really enjoying it. Keeping my eye on the oil when I fill up. I’ve been using premium fuel only. Balanced and mounted the tires.. new engine air filter and cabin air filter.. going to moisturize and protect the seats with some 303.. it sat in a garage most of its life. As far as ride quality, just as good as my 22 Silverado RST on 20’s.
Trust me when I say this, if you sale this car you gone end up upset later you did , just take care it , it's well worth it,
It's only because the cars had got a bad rep about the overheating, but without that problem you just end up in love with these cars, they are simply fine made, not perfect but its own its own and the Northstar has this sound that you fall in love with, it's a strong mild bold sound that they all make, you have to own one to know smh ..
It's crazy because I find it a normal thing for one to decide to sale the car only to end up wanting to get another one it's like you end up missing the car, it really does that to you, it's not just me, it's common to most owners who ever had one ....
Wallace. Home sweet home. Glad you enjoyed the show.
Best looking caddy ever .. to me , on my 2nd one 07 DTS yeah there's some trials & tribulations with them this old but it's worth it
Purchased my 06 DTS 1SE from
I'm a Town Car Crown Vic fan, and all those cars require exhaust manifold replacement, and it's hard to find a low mileage car that isn't selling for top dollar. These cars are value for the money. Strikeout the headgasket issue and if you can find one with a good body, you're laughing. These and the 06+ RWD STS are good cars. Thankfully the DTS doesn't have the electronic door handle. I saw one with over 250,000miles/400,000km so they do stay together. Undercoat the chassis with oil, do yourself a solid and undercoat it because rust is what is killing these cars. You can spray a can of PAM up in the fenders and bumper seam if you are too cheap to take it somewhere. LOL!! The rust always seems to be the rear chassis, to the front of the rear wheel. Front mudflaps are a must on these cars, yet few ever have them installed. All that water and road debris (and salt, if applicable) ends up at the back, thus what's causing the rust forward of the back wheels.
Or you could just find one from California or Nevada. Those are great cars to find if you’re looking for something rust free
my 93 mini cooper is a daily driver but with HIF44 carb
That's what I'm running :D
You're getting pretty good at this! It died when we were in Idaho. Haha! I wish I could join you on that drive.
No more with suuuuuper duper e-coil! Lol!
Gday I am arriving in Orlando and staying in the U.S for 3 months and I am looking at buying a car for around $5000 max I could buy a pick up , a toyota yawn ! but the Cadillac DTS keeps catching my eye but that Northstar engine plus front wheel drive concerns me. But a big thanks about letting me know that Gen 3 Northstar has finally been seen to :) I want a car to tour the U.S and be comfortable in,not bounce around in like a pick up or be bored to death in a Toyota . I'm currently in France on tour from Australia and I bought a Jaguar XF 2009 3.0 diesel for $5000 U.S, so far no issues at all. I wanted something that was comfortable to tour France in and it has met that criteria. So it's the USA in two weeks so it looks like I'm buying a Caddy DTS 🤣🤣🤣 (It's better to buy a car than rent because I will get something back when I sell before I head on back to Australia)
I'll be watching for the sale ad when you go back :)
My mom just bought one... $2,200 to fix an oil leak they haven't traced down yet. Oh yeah, and they have to remove the sub frame to get to it. I told her not to buy that damn thing.
how has the car held up since purchased
Howdy! I'd say, overall, GREAT! Since the video I haven't had to do anything other than regular oil changes, new tires. It IS going through a very trace amount of oil... a little less than a quart by the time it's due for an oil change. I can live with that. :)
@@spiriteddrivesunreliablecars sounds awesome! So you’re saying it’s leaking oil or burning oil?
LOL... I'm saying that my 15 year old Cadillac uses less than a quart in between oil changes and that I can live with that. If it was a new car, probably have a different perspective. Many folks are having issues with brand new MINIs and some other models going through oil right off the showroom floor. I'd likely not have the same attitude in that case :) @@thaanswer500
@@spiriteddrivesunreliablecars ahh that’s even better lol
These are good cars, hands down!
Ben: I had a brand new 2007 BMW 530i. It was in the shop all the time!! I found myself driving their PT Cruiser loaners sometimes for weeks while they had my car. I traded it in 2 years. I couldn't take it anymore. The car was $60K!!! The sad thing is I had traded my 2003 Cadillac Deville that was awesome. Cadillac had fixed the issues with the Northstar and the leaks, and even replaced the piston rings! I was such a fool. That's life I guess.
You have my sympathies! Been there, done that as well! I gave in to the wife's desire and purchased a BMW 735iL. I admit I loved the sound, interior, the ride... all of it. BUT it almost immediately gave us mechanical issues that were, frankly, ridiculous. I turned around and sold it fairly quickly.
My straight piped DTS isn't quiet anymore
I Have a 2007 Cadillac DTS and man it is very fast with the north star V8 take care your car and it will take care of you love it.
Due to the BABVVO and TEBBVO laws, all petrol cars will unfortunately soon be banned from public streets in the EU, CH USA and Scandinavia :-( In Germany, the Green People's Party has given the order to shorten the fuel supply from 2025 by reducing all conventional gas stations to just one state-run central gas station per city or county Now they even want to slow down all gas pumps by 20 liters per minute to 2 liters per minute... From 2027, some car spare parts will also be banned in the EU... such as exhaust systems, turbochargers and even some engine and gearbox oils. .. California and New York will do the same from 2027... So no more investing in petrol cars... They even created a new type of crime here called emissions and smoke crime . "Bundesabgasbespaßungsverbotsverordnung" BABVVO in Germany and HESCHLAVVO in Switzerland!!!!!!!!!!!
Ya, I'd guess the Dodge ('71 Coronet, 3500lbs) and larger trailer (2000lbs) weigh more than what you're hauling this time. Pulled it without a problem though.
chug chug chug lol
@@bencompton2332 other than the big hill up hwy 18 from 167, it was just speed limit all the way. That truck is horrible to drive empty, but remarkably nice with a load on.
Got my 06 DTS muffler and resonator delete and it never fails to turn heads
I have a 92 Coupe DeVille I hope to RWD convert someday. 02 Deville, parked due to severe oil leaks. 08 DTS, parked because I have to deal with a moisture issue due to the sunroof. Oil leaks are starting. I'll be resealing that one eventually. Currently working on my 00 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi beater then I have to put an 07 Colorado back together. Then I'll be starting to work on they Cadillacs. I think my 08 is around 190k miles bought with 56k. I beat the crap out of the 02 and 08. Especially the 02. Probably going to steal the throttle body and brakes to put in my Bonneville from the 02. I modded my Bonneville to use the same style cabin air temp sensor as my 08 with the little blower fan instead of stubs that goes to the HVAC box.
Fuel cuts off at 120. I've had it cut out at 119, 120, and 121. I removed the limiter but haven't topped it out since. Just went above 120 to make sure it was disabled. Had my Bonneville up to 137. That was rather sketch with suspension that is shot. In Mexico of course.
