Nope….I’ve got stubby little webbed fingers so never gonna be doable for me that way…but I will find a way! Subbed…keep on on pickin and inspiring 👍 Just found you as I was searching for “the Gael” on banjo as its on bucket list and seems I might have to get a tenor banjo one day soon. 🤔
Do you play anything now? Would definitely recommend the banjo! But if you’re worried about big finger stretches could try a mandolin too!!

Hi, is that the Empress? Objectively would you recommend getting it?
Its not a Barnes and Mullins actually, it’s an Ozark 2142T (T for Tenor!). The 2141T is essentially the same banjo as the 2142T without the Gold plating, and seems to be in the same price range as the B&M Empress. I’m very happy with my Ozark, plays like a dream, easy on the fingers with no fret buzz or similar issues, and I think there’s a pretty nice sound from it. It’s probably a mid-range banjo, and I’ve never had a go on anything considered upper-range, but I can’t ever see myself wanting an “upgrade”!
Have you ever played a five string banjo before?
Only ever tried one once! Definitely a different feel to the 4string Irish tenor!
So this is for irish tenor banjo due to the tuning whereas regular tenor banjo is tuned like a mandola (cgda).
Tuning here is GDAE, same as fiddle tuning, popular tuning with Irish Traditional

Nice, keep your triplets and trebles on the 1st and 3rd note, you've played a few on the 2nd note, doesn't really work on a Reel, takes the pulse to the Reel away, sounds nice but doesn't sound like a Reel should, on the whole enjoyed the clip well done champion 😙
