Jewellery boxes cut with a SCM Morbidelli N100 CNC
Join me as I create two jewellery boxes for my sisters grandchildren for Christmas. Great project for anyone who has a CNC machine in their workshop.
Some of my videos are not how to type as such but rather taking you along with me while I build a project.
On my videos there is no commentary and no music just the sound of making from machines and tools. Explanatory notes provided where necessary.
Materials used on this project:
American white oak lumber
Finished with Osmo PolyX oil
In my workshop I used the following equipment:

Folding Workshop Desk Build
Переглядів 1803 роки тому
I have this cutting mat in my workshop that always seems to be in the way no matter where I leave it and find myself constantly moving it. So, it is time to build a dedicated work desk incorporating the cutting mat. The criteria for the desk that it could be folded out of the way when not in use as space within the workshop is premium. Therefore, I designed a wall mounted folding desk with the ...

My Dust Extraction Has Stopped Working

Water got into the electrical junction box on my dust extraction motor. As a result, the motor blew up and fried some of the electrical components in the control panel. The motor and contactors needed replacing. I contacted the suppliers of the dust extraction system, but they didn’t want to know as they considered it out of warranty. The system was only 15 months old. Very disappointed in them...

Really nice work, shows a lot of respect and care for your tools. What I cannot understand is why JET doesn’t offer a steel stand for this machine. I guess they do not want to bite into the sales of their other spindle sander with a 2k plus price tag:-)

I am looking at purchasing a SC4e, could you tell me the full stroke length from front to back? I am wondering if 17'4" in enough, thank you. Nice shop

    • @arbordesigns2514
      @arbordesigns2514 3 роки тому

Hi Roy thank you for visiting my channel and your comment. The distance I have front to back is about 24'9" and it needs most of this space to operate the sliding table. There needs to be sufficient room to allow the table to fully slide back to change the blade. I only use 8 X 4 sheets larger is possible but need more handling. I bought my table saw before my CNC machine. But if had known then what I know now I would of bought a smaller table saw as I do most of my sheet cutting on the CNC. The table saw takes up a lot of space. Hope the helps cheers Michael

Thanks again for leaving a comment. It's all about confidence and I'm not there yet with that one to present or provide commentary. I do provide as many explanatory notes as possible to explain what I'm doing at each point of the video. I don't display notes if it's obvious what I'm doing eg sanding as I assume most people watching have a understanding of the various processes. I did do a lot of research to determine the format of the channel and I notice quite a few comments on other channels to drop the commentary and music as the viewer would rather watch. I know a couple of UA-camrs who did a lot of commentary on their videos to later started to produce videos with no commentary. So I opted for this format. It's suits me at the minute. Thanks again for stopping by. Cheers Michael

Hi Richard thank you for visiting my channel. The workshop is about 100 sq meters plus I have office space and some storage. I think if it was any bigger I would have more machines in it so I'm glad it's the size it is. Thanks again cheers Michael

I'm surprised how few subscribers you have. Your shop is at the whole different level. Great tase! Just amazing!

Hi Leon thank you for visiting my channel. Yes the channel is moving quite slow but I know it takes time to get the subs up I have a bunch of new projects ready for editing and uploading. I will just keep putting them up there and see what happens. Thanks again cheers Michael

What was that button with the green light for ? Is it necessary for making the box? Why did you do a close up of it? I don’t think I have anything quite like that in my workspace.

Hi James thanks for visiting my channel. I watch the video again and didn't see any green button. Is this comment on the correct video. Thanks again cheers Michael

Are still happy with your SCM SLIDER? Does it square up plywood accurately for you and stay true? Thx

Hi thank you for visiting my channel. Yes still happy with the sliding table saw however if I was cutting carcass components I usually use my CNC machine as it more accurate and easily repeatable thanks again

@@arbordesigns2514 Thank you for the reply. Now you have me wondering if the SCM sliders are accurate enough to mill up sheets of plywood for me. I need to retire my track saw method and find a more efficient way to do this. Thx

Would you ever do a video highlighting all of the uses for the slider table saw? Is that the 8.5’ sliding bed? Thx

Hi the SCM sliding saw is very accurate once set up and I would recommend it no problem I work in my shop alone and it's easier for me loading the CNC machine rather than the table saw. Yes I will maybe consider doing a video on my table saw let me have a think about it. In fact I might make videos on all my SCM machines it would be an interesting series thanks again cheers Michael

@@arbordesigns2514 okay, that sounds good. I’m looking at the Minimax SI 315 ES myself. Just subbed and would watch the series if you decide to do it. Is your slider the 8.5’ length bed? Thx again.
