Neurofibromatosis (NF) is a complex genetic condition that causes tumours to form on nerves, under the skin and deep in the body. NF can lead to significant health issues including blindness, deafness, bone abnormalities, disfigurement, chronic pain, learning difficulties and event cancer.
The impact that NF can have on organs and other body parts is varied, with no two cases the same. Importantly, it can be debilitating and even life-threatening, but these courageous kids are able to see beyond the challenges their condition poses too.
We are grateful to our wonderful NF heroes for sharing a part of themselves with the world to help educate and encourage greater efforts to find better treatments, access to care and services. Because NF does not just affect children - NF is for life.
