Ciao, vorrei acquistare il Laowa 65 macro per fuji, so che l'ottica è a messa a fuoco manuale ma vorrei sapere se quando si chiude il diaframma l'immagine nel mirino si scurisce rendendo difficoltosa la messa a fuoco. grazie.
Ciao, teoricamente su mirrorless non dovresti avere problemi. Non conosco le Fuji, ma con Sony non succede.
I strongly doubt.. I never heard of diffraction in relation to magnification.
It's a shame you can't use the focus stacking mode in the Canon R7 with this, since it requires AF.

Are you sure the lens is less sharp at 2:1 or were you not allowing for the considerably more narrow depth of field when that close. Another thing to test is the relative performance of the lens alone at 2:1 and using it with extension tubes but focused to give the same size image. I preferred this because it allowed a little more distance from glass to insect at the same size image on sensor. Laowa makes good lenses but there is a learning curve to get the best out of them.
the lens is slightly less sharp at 2:1 because of diffraction but of course, at higher magnification you will have a narrower DOF.

Ciao Riccardo! Do you see focus peaking in your EVF or rear screen using this on your A7. I'm considering this as my next lens for my 7R3.
Hello, yes! I do use focus peaking but it does not work that great on laowa lenses for some reason. Make sure you set it to "high".
Nice! This is the kind of comparison I was searching for. Because I have a Sony 90mm macro lens and it's a 1:1 magnification lens. I wanted to know how a 2x magnification lens compares to it.
In my opinion, 2:1 macro lenses are very much worth it! Many times I will unmount my Sony to use the laowa!

Hey great video! Interested in your flash diffuser and arm setup I want this exact setup for my a7riii I’m waiting on my 90mm to come from laowa now !! (And glad you still have your finger lol)
The bracket is a manfrotto 330b which mounts some small rig 2059 hot shoe mounts. For my flash setup, I use a Nissin i40a and i60a paired to the air10s command. For the diffusers, I am using a Nissan 20x30 soft box, and Photo-E 13x10.
