Porsche 911 Turbo S at Gran Turismo, Nürburgring Nordschleife

A stunning 2 day Gran Turismo event in Sep '21 with epic weather ancd a ton of incredible cars to play with. This is a BTG from Harry's App. It was my first time using the new version (for wide angle onboard camera) and accidentally set it to 720P HD instead of full HD. Doh!

Playing cat & mouse with a good mate on his R1M, during super-quiet TF in August '20. Cold tyres at the start so no records broken ;) Both car & bike are June 2015 models.

The car has had the BMW 'M Drivers Package' software, which raises the limiter. I was just checking the small print was correct ...

Judging by the feathers and bits of bird wedged in the windscreen surround we found when we pulled off the track, it was indeed a bird 😳

ESS Supercharged E39 M5 doing 80 - 140 in 4th
The car driver could pass him anytime he wants.
So 186mph with factory competition tune? Pretty impressive!
The sound and acceleration from the 911 is mind-blowing.
Porsche much faster. Rider was good in a straight line though..
Why do a lot of those sports car drivers wear gloves, their doing a couple of laps in a plush car.
Turbo's aren't known for their sound, but the smoothness of that flat-six is so relaxing and sounds sophisticated.
Hi @nordschleifers. Is there an email that I can reach you at? I have a question about your data from this lap.
I don’t think the bike is really pushing it ,seems very fluid but not trying too hard to get away ,quite a bumpy circuit in places
cars are really for old and weak undermen
Nice riding sir. Good form and big Cahoones on some of those rises.
That porsch is a seriously stable car at speed.
It is difficult to crutch the bike! Because it's a superbike! ! It's anYamaha yzf1000 r1!!! It's equai to a bullet....!
These two are extremely amateur. I mean the difference between a pro and these amateurs is night and day. If you don't know how to deal with breaks in racing why race? You can't be scared to trail brake at 100ft or less from the curve. If you do not trail brake you're never going to go fast. That's how the pros do it; trail brake. Instead of trying to go fast in a straight line learn to trail brake and watch the seconds go down. Is like watching kids driving in the streets.
What tyres was the car on?
To dangerous for my liking, to many fast car and bike all together, not a good combination for me to many egos, although this driver did give the biker room, other I'm sure are not so keen, and want to show off more.stay safe enjoy.
I love bikes, the R1 is an amazing machine. But the Porsche would have won had he wanted to. He simply followed at a safe distance and didn’t try to pass on any corners. The bike can take the lead off the line, but that Porsche will more than make up for it in braking and the corners. I bet the car would probably take top end speed also.
There’s a video of a speed triple RR doing the lap a minute quicker. Wonder what the difference would have looked like there. Great video BTW
It's funny how the comments are arguing about cars vs bikes and can't tell the bike is riding a leisurely pace while the driver is pushing it. That R1 is barely braking for corners. I'd guess the rider is giving it about 60%.
Who drives a 911 Turbo S and can't afford to fix a badly cracked windshield?
If the R1 was ridden by someone who could ride it properly, the Porsche wouldn’t have got anywhere near it. It was an entertaining video nonetheless.
Great video. I am a bike rider too but especially in nurburing the cars are faster.
Skilled and brave biker!
That rider wasn't even on the limit either, there are other bike pov vids of the nordschleife and they all pushed harder than this guy
Tja Fake Race on the Computer
Has to be the slowest rider i have ever seen somdont go blowing smoke up your arse
Car requires little or no skill the bike well that’s a totally different level of skill.
Acceleration and top speed the R1 is always going to be quicker but round the bends, the Porsche is always going to have the edge.
How about you show us how fast these guys are going
You need glasses. You can see turbo lift on the straights. Speed differential is substantial 992 vs 991 let alone a 997.
No way the cat is catching that mouse anytime soon
The biker holds the Porsche driver back, he should give way to faster vehicles
Car is PlayStation. Bike is real life.
Awesome!
Is that a low tyre pressure warning on the Porsche drivers display?
Watching this is even better at 1.5 speed.
18 000€ vs 80 000€
200kg vs 1600kg
@@jozefjozefczyk3936 500 HP vs 200 HP 😊
The bikes only have power to weight going for them, modern track capable cars with sufficient power are much more rounded in performance capability, they own them.
I shudder to think how many laps Andy has done around the Ring. Incredible rider / driver.
Bike slowed down the car many times. Car faster on track. Congratulations for not trying to overtake and killing him
is that MPH or KM
Km
riders is not very fast at all, super late turn ins, late on the gas, very shy on the leans. this is what a fast rider looks like against a car at the ring ua-cam.com/video/-2976rRzb3s/v-deo.html
If you you know the road / track then its easy to go fast, I'd out race any of these 911's etc etc if they were on the roads around my manor.
If you look at the minimum speeds in the Porsche, he's driving it very gingerly! Aremberg for example: without going nuts, most cars I've driven apex at around 60mph on normal road tyres. I've just checked my Elise in-car video (a careful lap done on holiday - it was my only road car at the time and I certainly wasn't pushing) and it was bang on 60mph (standard Elise S2 111S). If you watch other ring laps I'm sure this is fairly typical. This guy's going about 45-50mph min speed through there (doesn't reach 60mph until halfway through the exit on the power), maybe held up by the bike I guess? If that's the case - neither were truly on it, and my message to anyone in the comments is that these were two guys enjoying themselves in close proximity to each other, not trying to show which is quicker.
Thanks for this wonderful 9 Minutes. A 911 Turbo S is more than fascinating.
Winner yamaha r1 👏🏻🔥
I could rip the two of you a new one on a 1999 Yam R6 no joke. Why was his knee out all the time with zero body shifting on the bike? New rider he needs to learn the trade on a 300cc. I've seen plenty of older guys 60+ that adapted the zero seat shift riding style and a lot of bigger guys maybe 6ft5" 17+stone guys ride the bike without moving about on it but this style is not suited to knee out as you are relying on your body as a tube to force the bike about, in contrast a proper riding style where you are constantly moving about on the seat using the tank as a chest pivot is beneficial to have the knee out as you're effectively relying on the bike naturally steering tight while on the throttle as your entire body is hung off it like a monkey. This rider has confused styles and his line discipline is that of a newer rider too. I can happily tip up and smoke anyone who's got anything to say about what I've just stated. Just let me know as I beat TurboS for fun
Sorry to say. Both far away from any Limits. Impressiv to see the acceleration of the Porsche👍
Motor bike is faster
El de la r1 es un parao , mal paso en curvas y poco piloto
