Thank you for this I think this is often what students mean in a classroom when they say they want freedom to do what they want (their form of respect), and we negotiate with safety and their work done they can do what they want. I learn from this that once somebody develops a sense of self-identity and security they can develop autonomy.

His books, trainings and lectures on Dementia Beyond Drugs may be the best tools created for carepartners and family members alike. Here, he offers a common-sense approach based on research and experience for why the pandemic had a significantly less devastating impact on elders living in small homes and culture change models. There has never been a more appropriate time to implement changes in long-term care. Dr. Al Power is one of the people leading the way.

I’m glad you mentioned Eden Moments bc I find them very valuable and not that many people watch them, at least according to the numbers. I also find the live shows very interesting to have on while I’m taking care of things, like animals, that don’t require my full attention. Everyone needs validation. How delightful to find this precious lady in another presentation. I was fortunate enough to hear her for an entire day on "Alzheimers - From Diagnosis to Living With" on December 5, 2012 in Little Rock, Arkansas. That is a life-changing seminar, and I wish I'd heard this dear lady prior to my Mom's cognitive decline and passing away. It would have made such a difference, I truly believe. She is absolutely precious.

Thank you everyone for sharing your thoughts on aging, ageism and it's impact on not only yourselves but others. As Sarah says, 'let your words edify and honour others'. Words make worlds and your collective wisdom reminds us not to categorise a person by their age, but to celebrate that you are, we all are, rare and wonderous.
