I have the same amp with the matching 1x12 cab.. I highly recommend that set up if you dig combos! The cab is voiced to sound like a 4x12 as described by Mr. Friedman himself! I tried many high quality cabs with that head and the friedman 1x12 won hands down. You can actually run the presence half way up. Sounds fantastic.

The JEL20 sounds so good! I see you have a Peavey 3120 with white knobs.I use to have the same one. The 3120 with the white knobs is hard to find on the used market.

This is a really good demo.

I can’t decide between this one? The new pink taco or the little sister? They are all great very hard to decide without playing one,but guitar center doesn’t stock them in stores and sweetwater is 4 hours away☹️☹️☹️

That Knagg is a BIG key to that sound. But, this sounds absolutely killer Friedman's best mini amp, IMHO. That said, you could find 10 demo's of this, and maybe two sound this good.

I would be leaning towards a cold solder joint on the ground somewhere in the chain.

Used to love playing this in DeJaVu! Diana did great with the vocals and Jack Strong would slay the solo! I played all the keyboard parts on guitar.

Did you buy this from a person in Maryland? I saw one just like this for sale and the seller was clueless. He was running KT-88 power tubes through his 3120. I told the seller the amp wasn’t built to accommodate KT-88 tubes. A few days later he modified his posting, removing the part about KT-88s. I would have bought it but didn’t want to risk it knowing he had been running KT-88s through it.

My first guess would be a capacitor that is exclusive to the lead channel. Could also be a solder joint, despite your careful handling. I have a 6534+ from the same era (2012) and the soldering in it was extremely sloppy with a heap of cold joints. My tech has replaced a lot of solder in that amp. It is lead-free solder and it seems to be the era when Peavey was transitioning to lead-free and basically weren't doing it very well. My tech replaced it with 60/40 leaded solder. My guess either a capacitor in the active EQ for the lead channel or the solder that connects a capacitor to the PCB.
