I have 2 dachshunds I tried Farmer’s Dog my babies got sick of it. Then I tried Just for dogs dog food they liked it then tried Oille’s they liked that too tried Darwin raw meats had to cook it on the stove with butter they ate but not all. Then I Nom Nom they didn’t not like that one either they get sick of it too. Now I’m gonna try pet joy. They same thing just different varieties. So I ordered Nextirtion it’s air dried food sick of wasting money on dog food over all Ollie is the best my dachshunds like the pork the best. You can get 5 1 pounds of dog food for like 50.00 I think. My girls are picky.

I can tell you really love your dog Otto. as another pet parent of a boy dog I can so relate. My Chihuahua had the same stomach condition and had to take the same medication. He’s getting to where he doesn’t want to eat his royal canine and Chihuahua special blend anymore so we are going to try the farmers dog for the first time. I just put in his first order today and now we are waiting. I hope Otto is doing well and thriving. Does he still eat the farmers dog?

Just was through this experience. The cone was a bad option for this particular dog. I opted to try the "onesie" style jumper and turned out to be absolutely terrific. The particular one I got used snaps and had two adjustments (set of snaps). When I took the dog out, I unsnapped the back and rolled the onesie back over itself towards the front. Honestly, for my dog, it was a great choice. After a day, the dog got very used to it and seemed to like wearing it.

Seems to look way too tight on him how does he poo. Pee ,just got my female coco done 6 days ago i trimmed the cone so at least she can eat an drink out of bowls, healing very quickly so tmrw see how she does without cone on,ya she hates it but better safe then sorry right

What breeder i been looking for the right breeder

My female spayed just last month. I saw how to make a “onesie” on UA-cam- and bought a 24month size before I actually needed it. I had to make adjustments in length and shoulder width, but once that done, my girl wore it and seemed quite comfortable. I did buy the “cone” as a back up, but did not need it. Washed the onesie 2 or 3 times, and kept an eagle eye on my girl when it was being washed/dried. All went well. Cost was $15 for onesie and thread. Was a test of patience, but well worth the time. I didn’t even know I could buy one already done up. Am curious ... How much did it cost?

They should make recovery suit designs with an opening on his weewee so he could pee. And an opening for his booty part for popping. I would want my dog to poop or pee on himself.

The only thing that i didn't like about the farmers dog food was the amount of food i was receiving. i called them and they said they count the calories for each dog witch it doesn't make any sense other than them making more money. all my life I've been feeding my dog based on ounces. i just gave it a go with pet plate.

Also check his nose is free and ready to smell the food. He can't smell, he won't eat Feed him slowly. Change his plates

I transitioned my Mickey in about a week and he's done great. He loves his Farmer's Dog and I am grateful. Before FD I had to hand feed him more often than I should. I spoiled him doing that. I don't have to do that now. Today anyway! HA! He's still spoiled so I don't put anything past him. Bottom line - we love FD and I know if there is an apocalypse we can always share the food.

I hope you stuck with Farmers. My Dogs absolutely love this. Eli, my 87 lbs boy, and his 40 lbs Sister look forward to their plates, and they clean them up. I have never had to scrape off any of this food from the plates, cause they lick every bite.

It's that better then the cone my female dog getting fixed in February and I wanted to know if the recovery surgery suit is better

We have exactly that same problem with the dog, a chihuahua, almost only eats if he is handfed. He is also extremely picky and almost gets upset when he is given food. Might try out Farmer's dog..... When it comes to hand feeding one thing that sometimes work for us it spread the food out on a larger plate. He seems to not like the food touching his face when he eats.

I have an extremely picky puppy. He won't eat kibble so we got her farmers dog and loves it. She only will eat human grade food. Have you tried chicken livers with carrots and put some of the broth on top ? My 4 month puppy goes bananas for chicken livers.

I hope he’s doing better a year later. But just wanted to comment for anyone else struggling with this. Try feeding them in a crate. A lot of dogs, especially small ones feel very anxious eating in the open. It isn’t something they do naturally and I’ve noticed is more frequently in smaller dogs. Crating in a quiet room will help!

I know this is like a yr old not sure how your baby is doing. I had the same issue with food. She wouldn't eat anything & when she did she would throw it up or get diarrhea. I never had a dog so picky, EVER. To the point the vet thought I was making it up. I spent so much money on bagged dog food. They wanted to put her on a prescription food but she refused to eat it & I wasted a ton of money. But one thing I didn't realize is it is VERY common for dogs & puppies NOT to eat everyday. They will be ok as long as they are drinking which made me feel better. So I stopped worrying about that. I also tried putting it on a flat plate or a raised bowl/plate. Also the vet said dogs can be averse to some materials such as cheap metal/plastic etc. Plastic is the worse material as chemicals leach into the food over time. I got ceramic bowls that are BPA free with a raised bowl & that did the trick. Also many dogs just need a single protein source & can become allergic to protein sources such as chicken or pork. To be honest Neveah got a ton better when she got out of the puppy phase. My vet said I made things worse by continuing to chance the dog food & protein sources. So right now she is allergic to both chicken & pork, as well as any form of rice. My vet tested her. I made homemade dog food for a while but I was always worried I was missing some nutrition. I am doing the farmers dog now the turkey recipe & she is doing great. Again trial & error. Stick with one protein source for a while that he seems to do better with it allows the tummy to heal & get used to, but if you see soft stools/itching/licking feet that is a sign of allergy & it may be the protein source. Lamb is the easiest on the tummy. I hope a yr later your baby is doing well! Take care!

Otto is beautiful. I hope he is well. My dog was wanting hand feeding as well. I believe he had issues with his reflective bowls. I ordered a silicone baby bowl and that solved the problem. I know the struggles of a picky dog. Seems he needs to go hungry for him to wanna eat. If my dogs taste steak, they will snub their own food for days.

Also I think the portion size is to too big for such a little puppy.

You may want to double check the nutritional content as Schnauzers have major issues with fat and salt.

Awww... He likes what he likes... lol I have 2 females puppies an they're both like that.. So just imagine one like something and the doesn't lol , how funny is that! I'm just happy when they both like the same treats or food, at this point!🤣😂😅
