Sometimes it can be tricky. Sometimes they do actually do some of the things they promised you with. Mine did promise future things for me, but I don't know why. Is it just something he did to keep me in his vicinity? Me being there physically, he'd have more access to me? He didn't end up giving me the things he initially promised me with, but he did help me and push me to get a job. So I guess as long as it serves them good in some way, they will give you something.

I think another key indicator is trying to seem disinterested sometimes and not handling rejection. I had someone who would fist bump me, but also wanted me to hit him sometimes, he would joke and say how I would like hitting people. Would try to rile me up. Called me buddy a lot. One day, he kept trying to keep fist bumping my hand multiple times. I said to him, I'm not going to hit you today, and he had pre-planned grabbed the stapler gun and put it to his head. Told him not to do that and took it away and patted his head. We would joke sometimes, but I had weird feelings constantly. He would boast about having a girlfriend but was also always mentioning how attractive women were. I feel like the idiot, because I did care for him and had a connection, but I always felt off and unsure. I also have since been blocked, because I removed him, but also had a mental toll with the place I was working and had to leave and called out other situations occuring. We trusted each other with some things, but think he wanted to fish for info to get to know me more. I don't think anything would have occurred but it felt like a game. Early on, I would feel his eyes on me. I always have sensed this from people easily though. I hope this doesn't seem like it's just me. When I would confide other things, said I always overthought.

My now ex, I am pretty sure was human trafficked. She played games, wanted to be a #girlboss. I told her I wouldn't be okay with her going to clubs/bars. She started going. I listen the reasons. She kept going... Disappearing... Likely cheating. So I knew I was going to leave her. She started floating the idea that she'd get a job at a bar... I told her that we weren't together anymore. She started crying. By the time she finally moved out, she was hooked on nitrous oxide, adderall/meth, weed, and booze. She was going "out" dressed extremely slooty and would immediately make large batches of drug-infused brownies. This was many years ago. I realized that at first she was happy to go out and wanted me to go... Then she suddenly started to hate going out but she did anyway and wore lingerie. She was always on her phone, but pissed off at it. In my state, you can't just kick someone out, so getting her to leave became a chore. I think she went to the bar when I was at work, did a reasonably innocent drug like shrooms, cheated, got blackmailed into doing it again, started getting paid to do it, started getting paid to hold on to drugs... Started having her money taken... Remembered how I had warned her about human trafficking in the bars at the city we were near... And then she realized she was trapped... And so she either got ordered to, or was given cocaine that she started getting addicted to... She lost a lot of weight... She started hitting me... Talking about how I didn't love her or protect her and I was like "yeah... You are right... I don't. Move out." She started hitting me. She started demanding that *I* move out. I started flushing her drugs and threatened to go to the police. She went out, came back after a 5 day bender all bruised up mostly on her legs, belly, butt, lower back.... Shortly after, she moved out finally, but not before trying to have Johns over to the house. I thought she was just cheating but that final night where she tried to have a dude over who was a total dork with glasses, shorter than her, dad bod, Army haircut and boots... i realized she didn't really probably like this guy. Then when she left, she didn't leave with this guy... And when I told the guy to leave my house, he acted like I was being unfair until I mentioned the police and he looked afraid. I'm sure that at first she just wanted to do a little cheating or maybe just partying.... But I think her life is basically ruined now. I'm just happy to be single and, no, I do not miss her or feel bad. She chose her fate and I gave her chances. I will never date or marry again. No cohabitation. I don't need or want the drama.

some time back I used to work for a dealer and began getting to know people who sold knives/guns, were into prostitution and trafficking to name a few. The technique they used was to sit outside a children's home and befriend young girls with gifts, weed and money to gain their trust then exploit them. The easiest way and I'll be careful what I say was when they picked up a local prostitute who was on crack and gear and kept her for over 5 weeks making her 'work' from a room at a Snooker club. I've seen a lot worse to be fair but there's naughty people everywhere, and when there's big money to be made, you'll be shocked how evil people will be. Stay safe!
