My dad didn't know how to invest money, so I never learned from him. However, I heard an ad for trading futures on the radio when going home from work one early morning. My (now ex-wife) laughed and told her brothers who told her not to allow me to learn. After the divorce, I took the course and learned to trade futures. Yes, the markets 'are' set up to make the little person lose, and 40% of newbies are in/out of the markets in one month after blowing all of their funds. I was fortunate to find a self-made trader who was willing to teach everything they knew. The golden key is learning to manage whatever you have to start with. Understand the risks, define your risk boundaries, and never, never, never go past them. 2% of 100 thousand is 2K, which is a nice size buffer to the downside. But most people starting have a great deal less, (I started with 5K), and 2% of 5K is only 100 dollars for risk for any one trade. Patience is something most people starting out growing their garden of money are lacking. There are weeks on end and I do nothing, but, the IRS is always happy with the checks I send them... The money markets are indeed a boys club for the most part, however, I know that women tend to be better at managing funds, once they learn how.

OMG, so much food for thought as always here. I feel so alive and full of purpose when I’m asked for help. I just never stopped to consider it was so deeply ingrained in mostly women. It’s just so fulfilling to feel a sense of worth to someone else. Especially when you’re looking for a purpose. It’s such a high and aliveness to have some need you. I have so many thoughts on this subject now ☺️☺️
