Another great video, it's a nice place to fish, I need to go agin 🐋🐋🐋
I can tell you hand on heart i am an honest dude and I would never give my endorsement to a venue I do not believe in 100 percent …. I promote frensham because i believe the venue is awesome and Matthew Carroll the fishery manager does an amazing job at frensham providing a great venue for day ticket anglers. If I did not believe in the venue I would not recommend it ….
Hi what pattern is a stalking bug? Do you tie your own flies.....
It’s a small size 14 when all else fails basically a white thing fry speck on a hook - I don’t tie my own flies sadly
Hi Chad, it’s great to see you out and about Sir, those browns were superb… Happy Christmas buddy…
Happy holidays!
Top man Chad. Well said. Social media is a very double edged sword. It could be a massive force for good but unfortunately it so often succumbs to unpleasant, unwarranted comments.
It’s a shame …. Our sport needs every bit of positivity it can muster
Exciting session at Brick Farm. I have only fished that place a couple of times. Must try it again It looks more picturesque than it did 15 -16 years ago..
Danny and Phil have worked really hard to get the fishery in tip top form
I reckon Exmoor is a much underrated area. The small streams are worth investigating. There are guides who specialise small stream fishing there. Also don't forget Clatworthy and Wimbleball reservoirs, both great waters. On the way there Blagdon makes a very nice break in the journey.
I fished wimbleball a couple of years ago - end of July and the fish were 30 feet down at the dam end
Great to see you fishing, and catching, again.
Cheers dude
I was there last week and a chap (who had never fished there before) landed a 20lb13oz rainbow!
Now that’s a fish!!!
I've hooked that very same tree!
I soon learnt my lesson
Great video How are you finding the rod. Seems to cast nicely..
The snowbee spectre pro is very nice it loves the xs snowbee lines - however as with all ten foot rods with a full day casting it can hurt my back and shoulder (This is no doubt down to my incorrect casting form) - the sage r8 is a dream rod - totally amazing and loves the rio perception line it’s a rod that can truly do everything - however at £1050 if bleeding well should do lol
Brilliant mate 😂
Glad you liked the vid
Awesome Chad! I lost my trout fishing mojo last year, but maybe you’ve awakened it! Brick Farm is a fantastic fishery. 👍👍👍
You got that right!
My favourite fishery well done Chad !
Cheers dude
Shows what happens when the rod pressure eases. Glad you edited out my swearing on the first peg.
Ha ha - you did better than me mate - I gave up and had coffee when I was there last comp!
@@barrybigplums I want to draw an even number next month so I avoid it
Peg 14 looked a nightmare to get to. Great fishing chad, although you were late again.
I’m always late - I always leave stuff behind like my coffee mugs etc too
Nice video lad always entertaining
Glad you enjoyed
Don't forget social is a great way to meet new anglers learn new techniques get reports on what has worked for others to aid your chances of success Unfortunately you get the idiots and it takes a lot to ignore them but they are not worth a second of your time . But I do love a healthy debate as long as it stays on topic and the handbags don't come out then it's exit stage right. Everyone is different and has different tolerance levels different levels of knowledge or perceptions best to know yours it's a minefield out there Good page owners and moderator's are key on social pages. That's my two pence Love the content plums I've learnt a lot from you and your vids keep me motivated to get on the water🙏 I just get tackle envy lol
Great comment mate

wow this place looks fantastic, would love to visit it!
Yeah it’s a great venue
Wow...yep....this one....Tavi and Rockbourne the best there is....fingers crossed it picks up....thanks Chad....another great vid.....v important to drive business...👏👏🥰💪🙏
Abi works really hard to make the fishery as good as it is
Good effort Chad, it really looks good there… I hope all works out well for Abigail.
She is a very nice lady and deserves all the best
Agree wholeheartedly. Tavistock is the best run trout fishery in the Southwest of England. It is a wonderful place to fish even when things get hard. Abi works her socks off to keep the fishery up to a great standard. Yes I am a great fan having had many years of excellent fishing. One tip first timers, make sure you have a Blue Flash Damselfly in your box. Dave
Abi is clearly a very hard working lady
Hey there everyone - a personal request from me if you are able to help - If you are able to show Abi some support and kindness at Tavistock if you are local to the venue I would really appreciate it - she has had an awful lot to deal with over the past few months and she still continues to work all the hours she is able to keep Tavistock fishing as the amazing venue as it has aways been - big thumbs up and support from the plums
Yep you right you have made some good points on the vid👍 you did mention a name at the start tho, which you may have forgotten about the video which he done about a certain fishery around OCT last year slating it as he had a bad day which cost the fishery £10k - £15k in revenue
Thank you for your comment - I have never posted a video of myself having a bad bay at a fishery and I have deleted GoPro footage on more than one occasion because of this. I don’t want this sport to go anywhere and all I can do is try my best to show the best sport I can do with my skill sets and camera
@@barrybigplums the 2nd part of the comment buddy wasn’t about you pursa 👍
@@dylanthomdan7350 I know mate i appreciate the reply
The internet is a great place. Problem is as with most problems in the world, it takes a small percentage of people to spoil it for the rest. #keyboardwarrior #nonothings #getalifemuvvafukka keep fishing.bruvvas and sistas. It's good for you ❤
Well said Chad
Mate you get it every were it's never going away I'm a member of a club and all they do is moan I just let it go over my head I fish to enjoy not to listen to old granny's just enjoy block them out
Hi Chad, new subscriber here. Your comments are unfortunately well founded. Social media has spawned a breed of invasive species that will unlikely be eradicated any time soon. The sites that plagued, need careful consideration if a person really should expose one's self. Im really enjoying your 'back catalogue ' of videos, especially the fisheries i am planning to visit now I'm dusting off the flyfishing gear and throw a few casts in anger! Keep up the good work on the videos!
Great comment thank you for stopping by
Well said Chad, There are a few anglers too ready to blame the fishery rather than themselves , or the weather, atmospheric pressure or temperature. They think because they have been fishing for 40 years they know best. Ignore them is the best thing !
It all evens out good times and bad times on the water it’s called fishing not catching
Chad I've known you the best part if 25 years, and this is the most impressive thing you've ever said. Man hug. 😊
Appreciate that mr Brandon lots of years ago now we gave each other bruises at jui-jitsu - especially the 12 hour black belt grading! Appreciate the support with you watching the vids bud - let’s get out on the water together I will take you to my syndicate if you like
Think the issue lies in using these dated sites like facebook, usually how I find a fishery in the UK is just via google reviews. No offense but using facebook in 2024 just going to run into old bitter people. Completely different over here in the states, very community driven and positive. Thanks for the video :)
Lots of truth in your comment - glad to have a sub from across the water too!
Well said Chad the negativity on social media is not needed.
It’s lame
Well said sir I have been fly fishing for 40 years even good places have people who moan because they don't catch a bucket full of fish they should learn to fish properly the amount of people see who just fish bung all day and they're not catch much and just sitting in same place and moan they not getting much but the person who can change tactics to suit the weather and conditions will always do better
I blank sometimes too - it happens it’s called fishing not catching
I agree Chad. Having said that, some of the venues, especially locally to me, they’re getting away with murder and taking peoples money when they either aren’t stocking, stocking half pound fish or not maintaining the weeds etc. there are some fantastic fisheries out there but there is two close to me that would be better off closing or letting someone else take over because they are being run in to the ground and are basically stealing peoples money knowing full well there is no fish stocked, to be caught. I could give you two fisheries names in particular that are a disgrace but what would I gain by naming them. I just don’t visit them anymore. I’d rather pay more to visit the fisheries that are run properly by responsible and passionate owners. It’s those guys that deserve our footfall and custom. It’s a two way street. We both need each other.
I think venting or voting with your wallet is totally fine - there are right ways and wrong ways to do things
Agree 100%. My view is that social media could be part of the problem. Its very rare to see a fishless session, what we get are edited highlights of good days and so people assume that that is how fishing should be. Couple that with inflated egos and lack of real knowledge then some will get angry and start spouting negativity. I have been appalled at some of the behaviour and practices exhibited on social media and am very careful who I subscribe to. Liked and subscribed. Thank you. 🧔 👍
Thank you bob really great comment and thanks for the sub
Couldn't agree more Chad, and sad they you've had to make this video. All your vids are always so upbeat and positive and a great watch. Keep up the great work representing the largely positive side of the sport. Maybe see you at Brick Farm of Chalk Springs some time 👍
Come and say hello if you see me there
It's not just fly fishing mate. Match fishing, carp fishing, golf, photography.... Pretty much every interest I've ever had is disappointing when it comes to the Internet. I think a lot of people like to blame the rest of the world for their problems. Well every problem I've ever had has come from one of my decisions. It's a shame, social media should have been an amazing platform, no one accounted for the amount of sad people there are in the world!
It’s just so bloody toxic mate - it really doesn’t have to be either
Spot on Barry if you have a full bag every time you are some fisherman 😮but carry on with your good work, And all of us remember owners and venues are under great pressure with energy and feed prices so please talk them up for all our sakes 🎣🎣🎣😀😀😀🇬🇧🇬🇧
They need as much help as we can give them
The truth is a lot anglers slag a venue off because it’s not easy to catch fish 🐟 at certain times of the year, they’re often not prepared to try new things or educate themselves on other methods, the bottom line is sometimes fishing can be difficult and that’s the beauty of it, sometimes I blank sometimes I crack the code 🤷♂️, I can’t think of a time when I’ve done badly due to a lack of fish, I just fished like an idiot and got it completely wrong, don’t listen to these dickheads on FB & Twitter as they’ll always find something to moan about, as for anglers I meet whilst out fishing 🎣 I’ve never had a bad experience, a wide variety of characters that I really enjoy talking to.
I think the issue is there is a total difference between venting online and being a complete toxic a-hole
@@barrybigplums But never have the guts to say anything in front of real people, they get a perverse enjoyment out of being toxic and upsetting people.
With regards to new people starting fly fishing, the ticket prices and length of actual fishing is the decider for a lot of people I’ve introduced to the sport. My small water I fish has even put the prices up
The people I taught to fish have all given it up due to the price sadly
Thank you Chad… As a victim of vicious trolling on line, I can assure you that this sort of thing is so devastating to us… It takes some solid gonads to post a commentary like this… We really do need to support our fisheries… they are vital to us to protect our sanity… You sir are a bloody star.🤝🤝🤝👏👏👏👏
Meant every word Chris
Totally agree with everything you share Chad, unfortunately.
Thanks for the support
Spot on Chad. When I was first introduced to fly fishing I asked my good friend and mentor why we bothered to fish at the height of summer when the fishing was hard, especially for a novice like me, his reply has stayed with me throughout: 'If we don't support them when things are tough, we'll end up losing them altogether. I had break for about 25 years and only started again after watching your videos. I've immensely enjoyed my fishing, even during this summer's lean time, and try to go as often as possible. So, thanks for your input Chad and keep sharing the positive.
I really appreciate the fact that my vids helped you get into the sport again - big respect bud
@@barrybigplums I guess I'll get to meet up with at some point. Missed by or two day at Brick Farm when you caught that 6lb.
Unsubscribe from all Facebook pages as it causes more distress than kindness! The nasty comments are just an expression of people who are deeply unhappy with their lives and use the medium to let off steam. They need to get a life and try to address their issues that make them so unhappy!
Lots of truth in your comment buddy
Too right social media distorts views of our sport. There’s a lot of spoilt children around.
Amen to that
