Fairplay eamon .I'm not a farmer but totally agree with you about how life goes so quick .I remember my parents saying to me once you reach the age of 21 .time flys by.never a truer saying .keep up the content .fairplay to you .
Yeah you’re right and when you get into your 60s, it seems to go much faster. Thanks for your comments please keep it up.
Hi Eamonn. I thoroughly enjoy your videos and good advice. Keep up the good cause.
Thanks, will do!
Thank you for your kind remarks, people like you keep me going. Thank you
You're not talking BS - but it can be hard to let go - so I love that you bring in different ideas for different scenarios - and have the future of farming in your heart and soul. With all the grumps that go on against farmers, it's hard to keep going - but when voices like yours are heard, it can be great for the spirit!
Thank you for your very kind remarks it’s spread when people take time to be nice to each other. Thank you
Very solid advice. I have been a dairy farmer for the past 40 years and have always enjoyed being a farmer. I have milked my dairy cows once a day (OAD) for twenty of those years. OAD took the hard work of the enterprise and kept it profitable.
Taught u weren't left in the parlour after u got the cluster stuck on ur mickey
This is a great channel. Such great advice and you come across as a good genuine man👍
In all ways - my cousin would keep all the records of the genetics through the years and the records were brilliant - sure he went on to be an accountant (which was a bit of a surprise!) but it's a great way to just involve everyone from the age they want to get involved in.
i'm loving this conten... keep it up
I think that they are all incredibly good reasons - and should be thought about by everyone with a family who would want to go and take over the farm and a nice easy known way saving hassle, time and daftness when you're at a time that is a sad one. More people should do that - farmers or not. I read there that there are some folks in Dublin pay €27 a litre of milk .... only been over there once - reckon that is once too much! 😆
Thanks 1 million for your comments it’s important to make those big decisions in your life when you are able. When you are not forced to make those decisions chew in this are other reasons. I cannot comment on the price of milk at €27 per litre, it must be something special I have not heard about that and your comment about only been here once it’s a beautiful country. It seems like that that you are from outside. Come back and enjoy the day beautiful green countryside. Thank you
Thanks I was in Farming i am to old over 80 set my land from Co,Derry
Young Farmers had a saying - 1 day a week get off the farm for a walk or to town, 1 day a month do something totally off farming and 1 time a year go away! I don't do the last but try and do the others and if I don't I feel the mental pain! This weather is amazing but I don't think I'd have coped with the crowds at the Ploughing
Taxes is the biggest problem because the money is not there to pay it
WELL SAID HOPE YOU ENJOY A LONG RETIREMENT
hello ❤❤❤
Fabulous share 👌.
Your UA-cam video content is so good. However the video does not get many views. Because your UA-cam channel has some problems. Do you want to know about the problems?
Good luck with every think 👍
Great little channel very informative.,just mind yourself around the yard but saying that ya coulndt keep a good man down.,all the best
Thank you
Thanks
Mighty man
I have listened to a lot of waffle.Farmers have been abused by Meat factories, Co op's Merchants,Banks,Deptford of Ag. For years,Young people have more options than the 7day grind,One major consideration is savings needed to get a mortgage to live on a farm needs 2 proper incomes not a hit and miss income on a farm, The 2 things in running and developing a farm requires A decent return as well as building a house and settling down to rear a family,The cost's of transfer and a real need for a large installation aid package along with a decent retirement scheme for old farmers.Other considerations are The recognition of pre nuptial agreements in Law as no farmer wants to see a farm sold off after marriage break up soon after transfer, Planning permission for once off house in the country also is also restricting young couples from setting up home THEY have to live on the farm,Objection's from fanatics are causing mayhem in the country side,
👌
Thanks
Eamon your a great ambassador to irish dairy farmer's, thanks.Helen
Thanks for giving us a great insight of the workings of your and Kenneth's dairy farm,I come from a 100cow pedigree Holstein farm myself and married to William here in co Longford who is a suckler to beef farm.
Thanks for your input would you think of going in to milking cows with your background
Is this law already in force requiring farm inheritors to complete year long agri courses
Every farmer, not son or daugher wife. needs to get this insight.
Howya thanks lad for sharing
Yes we need to keep going
STAY STRONG FARMERS
What happens if your accountant is blackmailing you to stop the transfer because he wants to zone the farm with his shady friends North Kildare sheep farmer
A pile of ye farmers are single men due to spending years at home with the mother. Its sad to see but alot of them are very risk averse in that regard.
We pay our tax every year and all farmers do the same in my program. Will show you how to avoid paying tax to the government when you transfer your friend if you die and you make a win and you leave it too nieces or nephews or cousins our friend Than will pay tax on their inheritance this is why it’s better if you can do it in your lifetime
I agree that everything is stacked against a farming I am farming since I was 16, and it was no different back then, but we work through all those difficult times because that is what we do. We are farmers and we keep them in the land and producing high-quality food one day we might be paid a proper price for it.
Hey, sorry for not getting back to you sooner. this is a nun political channel, just because I interviewed the minister or anybody in politics are in the firm in only stations is not pandering to them. We need to hear what they are saying they are the people that sets the policies for eight acculture.
😮its same in australia too
What if u have no one to hand it over to
There's always the threat that if the son /daughters relationship to their spouse breaks down then farm will be broken up sold They came with nothing and left with half .. very hard to watch something you've nurtured worked on day and night to be broken up
its all a fraud taxed on that farm all of your life and taxed again when your dead on what you have already paid for ?
I feel so sorry for farmers these days. Everything is stacked against them by design. WEF & co moving fast.
I am 46 years old my dad is 92 he will not let go the farm he gets all the money and I am farming it I have All the bills some job this (((((there should be no state pension for people like him 68 years old you still farm no pension then you would have young people farming
A guide and support for Irish farmers who want to transfer their farm to their son or daughter bit.ly/IrishFarmTransfer
He has made farming a disaster and is a joke and a liar he went out to the marts to hear what farmers had to say and he done the complete opposite this man is the worst minister that farmers ever had
one of the many reasons young people are not going into farming is having to put with the TB testing scandal that is going on for the last 70 years and to think it is no better than the day they started
"Operation Shamrock ☘ 20,21,22,23,24 " called the Treason and crimes against humanity in 2020. Few listened till today. "Operation Shamrock ☘ 20,21,22,23,24 " has exposed the enemy within. Compliance will never get them out but rejected parasites get a say.
Stop pandering to Fianna Fail and Fine Gael, (Sinn Fein no better) IFA , ICSA and ICMSA,are full of political touts for the establishment parties.
Irish farm organisations had a chance to form a new political party like their counterparts in Holland but wimped out. Plenty of their people have made speeches to farmers outside Dail Eireann and then stood for election successfully for either FF/FG. Irish farmers are a very soft touch.
@michaeloconnor9809 💯, Branch chairman is usually a member of an Establishment party, reminds me of the song " Going to get my self connected "
What your saying is 100% correct, but who can we vote for, Never mind who can we vote for that will bring change
There is no party worth voting for which is why a new one from urban and rural people is needed. A few individuals like Tony Gregory, Jackie Healey Rae and his sons have been the hinge of power re Ff in power and got a shake extra for their areas. Irish people very naive with their complaints followed by automatic voting patterns. Irish people dont want the responsibility of government. A severe reduction in the number of TDs is required .
@damien3278 certainly not the circus of the Establishment Parties ( FF SF FG GREENS LABOUR PBP and the Social Democrats) these are all piggies of the one sow.
No good in talking about what was there two caps ago,we now have the worst minister for Agriculture we ever had , must remember he was only Third choice for the job,It was a discrace what was done to Barry Cowen .
A farm retirement scheme Not rocket science
