I studied three actors who played him when I was cast for Scyther. One was Ryan Reynolds, obviously, who has a deadpan DP. The other was Nolan North, who has a very animated DP. There some shades of both of them in my performance, but the one who inspired me the most was John Kassir, the first guy to play DP on screen. (He’s most famous for voicing the Cryptkeeper from Tales from the Crypt). His DP could go animated or deadpan, depending on the situation. Now you know!
