Hi Brian, apologies, I have only just seen this. Yes, whilst I would recommend a Brower timing gate system, if you're looking to purchase I suppose I would suggest you look at the budget you have and what you require from them. I also use Witty Timing Gates, which are more modern and have the capability to connect to an app, however in some instances the Witty I found a little less user friendly. Brower's are user friendly, however the version we have does not have the ability to connect to an app (just the handheld device) and the tripods are rather flimsy and easy to damage. You could also consider whether you would benefit from having a dual beam versus a single beam system, the Brower is the latter.

@@laurasmith_uos hey thanks for responding - I did actually go for them in the end - they did seem to be the best for my budget and despite someteething issues, I find them very good - but agree, those tripods are terrible - thanks again!

Hi, You do not need to open the tripod legs this wide. You can keep the legs narrow, however please consider that the tripods will be less stable if accidentally knocked. Similarly colleagues have created custom tripods to fit timing gates into small places, the custom tripods were almost poles mounted onto a base plate, with the timing gates mounted on top.

Hi Brendan, thank you for your question. With this system you would need to run athletes through one at a time. As soon as the first athlete is through the final pair of gates, you select new on the handheld device and then the next athlete can start. There may be a system on the market which would work for that, however I am afraid that this Brower system would not suit. Many thanks,

Hi. As long as you have both sets of data on the same spreadsheet you can produce two separate lines. Either when you're creating the graph you can highlight both sets of data and add them together. Alternatively if you already have a graph created and wish to add a second line you right-click on the graph, select 'Select Data' and then you can 'Add' a new 'Legend Entries (Series)'. On the pop up, under 'Series values' select/highlight the cells which you wish to use as your second line. I hope this helps.

Hi Sinhaeng. This is not something I have commonly performed. This is I way I have found to do this, once the chart is plotted (including the SD), select the chart, then Chart Elements (+ in top corner of the chart), select the arrow next to Data labels and then More Options. Select the icon for Label Options (hover over them if you're unsure), then select Label Options again. By default this will plot the data labels for Average (mine does, I'm not sure on everyone's), in order to change this select Value From Cells, then select all of the SD values you wish to label. Once you have selected the SD values and selected OK, both the Average and SD values should appear as Data Labels. In order to remove the Average from the Data Labels, on the right hand window pane deselect Value and this should remove the Average values from the data labels and leave only the SD.
