RARE F40ph Catch & Other Pacific Surfliner Trains
In this video, we'll take quick break from the Los Angeles Metro system and check out some much bigger trains, with today's focus being Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner route.
Spanning between San Luis Obispo and San Diego, this line features numerous big cities, beaches and destinations alike, although most of the trains and passengers travel between Los Angeles and San Diego.
With many attractions, events, and scenic beaches to see on this line, it's one that's impossible to get bored of!
In this particular video, I was able to capture a few of the 'standard' trains that operate on this line, as well as a rare appearance from an old F40ph "Cabbage" and some 1960s Comet cars.
While the Surfliner has it's own set of engines and coaches, issues such as breakdowns or increased demand during certain times often leads to equipment from other routes and places being used.

Riding San Diego's Vintage Trolley! (1981 Siemens-Duewag U2 POV)
Переглядів 30014 днів тому
In a follow up to the previous video, we take another look at the Silver Line in San Diego, with this video being a (near) complete ride though of the line from a rider's point of view. I cut out some of the slower parts such as the waiting at stations, but most of the destinations and ride experience one can expect from this line are here to enjoy! This line can be pretty tricky to see since i...

For a first on this channel, we'll take a look at a another metro system, with today's focus being the Silver Line of San Diego's MTS System. I'll upload videos featuring the other lines so I won't get too much into them, but the Silver Line is unique as it's not only a single-direction loop, but also uses older equipment from the city. The visits I've made to the line this year primarily use S...
Los Angeles Metro E Line Compilation

After a while of... basically doing a whole bunch of other stuff, I'm finally back with another big train spotting video! This time, we take another look at the LA Metro system, with the E line being our focus today. Going from the East side of Los Angeles and traveling Westward until the coast, this line is relatively long with stops in various cities and communities alike, with its biggest de...
Short Buses on the Metro G (Orange) Line

NOTE: THE FOLLOWING VIDEO WAS RECORDED IN JULY 2024. As of writing this, the issue has been resolved and the G Line has returned to only using its regular fleet of extended buses. In this video, we take another look at the Metro G (Formerly Orange) line, but with a twist! Due to charging issues during the summer season, Metro's usual fleet of extended and articulated electric buses (as seen in ...
Los Angeles Metro G (Orange) Line Compilation

In this video, we take a look at an interesting element of the Los Angeles Metro system: The G Line! Originally named the Orange Line, this line connects various places in the San Fernando Valley (located Northwest of downtown), with stations between the subway (B Line) stop in North Hollywood and railway depot in Chatsworth. On top of that, this line of course also has the distinction of being...
Los Angeles Metro Trains in South Pasadena

Another video featuring the A line, we now make our way up to the other side of it going through Pasadena. Going through so many locations, the A Line has a couple nice places to visit, and this is arguably one of the best! Featuring nice shops, streets, and even some scenic neighborhoods, hills, and nature, this area has a lot to enjoy, and makes for one of the greatest places to film metro tr...
Los Angeles Metro K Line Compilation
Переглядів 6502 місяці тому
In this video, we take a look at another line that doesn't get too much attention, and its the newest one of the system: The K Line! Consisting of only a few stops between Crenshaw, Inglewood, and finally Westchester, this line is fairly short compared to the others, but has a decent frequency of trains and some honestly nice scenery for a metro train, which we'll see in this video. With some e...

In this compilation, we take a look at a line I haven't yet covered on this channel, the C (formerly Green) Line! Running directly in-between the 105 freeway and towards cities south of the LAX airport, this line doesn't get too much attention due to its lack of direct destinations and riders, but is still fun to film regardless, especially including the elevated segments as seen in here and th...

I'm not quitting Bluey content, but hope to branch out into some other hobbies/interests I enjoy if that's okay... You should come to Chicago for some real F40PH action
Glad to see there's still classic stock roaming around!
Cool!
do they bring the Duewag often on the DT loop?
The last couple times I’ve seen the line they’ve always had the Siemens duewag. I’m not sure if they still do bring out the older PCCs but I did see one a couple years ago 😅
You'll have to check out Edmonton Alberta Canada, we have the oldest running fleet of U2 cars in the world. Edmonton transit 1001 was built in 1977 and is one of 37 U2 cars still in service.
That’s awesome!! I would love to see those in action 😁
@@HideakiTransit I have video of them, “Edmonton transit LRT system”
I used to live in san diego, 2004 to 2016. Unfortunately, i only rode the trolly once....
Even though I never saw the U2s in person. I used to see them on fantapes growing up! So this video kind of takes me back :3
A new city? Cool!
5:57 this is the inevitable problem without grade separation in BRT, especially in the U.S. & Canada where getting a drivers license is as easy as ordering takeout. Without automated camera enforcement, these kinds of people will delay hundreds of people everyday & face no consequences.
All final destination signs within the current Metro C Line (Green) stations from Redondo Beach to Norwalk are soon gonna change by November of this year. With the future LA Metro Rail stations of Aviation/Century and LAX/MTC opening by November of this year, the C and K Lines are gonna be realigned. The C Line will soon run from Norwalk directly to LAX Airport, with all Redondo Beach bound destination signs at existing C Line stations soon reading "To LAX/Metro Transit Center 🟢(C)". All Norwalk bound destination signs at the C Line stations within Redondo Beach and El Segundo will soon read "To Expo/Crenshaw (K)" with the K Line soon taking over that part of the C Line route.
Hi please make more video of during rush hour thanks
I guess since the K line will be between Expo/Crenshaw - Redondo Beach, will never see a 3-Car Train for now.
When will this end at torrance?
these buses are great, but this really should be rail. That being said, this is currently a really solid example of good BRT in the US
G Line formerly has NABI 60-BRT before it was replaced completely by New Flyer XE60 Buses. As you said G Line should be rail, that was Metro's actual plan to convert G Line into Light Rail in the future. So we have to wait and see if the future holds since the new LRT is being approved taken place in Van Nuys.

As someone who works in NYC, I’m no stranger to the busses. I’m surprised that while the outside of these busses are nice and bright, the inside is almost identical to the NYC busses. Another great and vibey video dude 👍
This is new, a change of spotting
Thanks you for post video I really like it. Please make more video of metro G line thanks

Didn’t Howard Payne lose his head in the network.
So, nobody uses it 😂
You should go to knott berry farm and film the train there!
Lovely public transit ASMR 😊
Real
I Like Train ❤
You got some cool external shots of the train. The ones with the very tall palm trees could be a postcard. Thanks
Very clean. But not many passengers.
2:05 I went to that location in August during the NMRA days.
Nice vid
Where are the p2000s at?
Honestly I’m not sure. I could be misremembering the location but I think I might have seen a bunch of them at the yard near Long Beach, but none running as of recently. 🤔 Haven’t seen an explanation for why they suddenly stopped appearing or what they’re gonna be used for but I do hope they return. I gotta get more footage of them lol 😭
I heard they're pulled out of service due to issues hence why car #237 is on the Green Line when this video was shot. The A Line is the longest line and the Siemens P2000 is unable to reach from Azusa to Long Beach and back without pulling out of service for maintenance. Another UA-cam user said they also break down on the Green Line too even that line is short. Man, Alstom did a horrible job refurbishing these trains and Metro said they're going to be replaced in 2030 so I guess they might end up on the Green Line and the K Line instead of the A Line if they're unable to operate on the longest line in this system.
Oooh, I love the way these trains' doors open and close. My local trains have the doors slide over the outside, rather than the inside as these do. It gives the trains a nice futuristic look, especially when they close flush with the rest of the car
Actually - I'd be curious to know what the doors look like from the inside. Do they slide along the interior wall or do they have a hidden compartment to slide into? If it's the latter that would be so cool, as it would allow the interior wall to be a nice spot to lean against without having to stand clear of the entrance. Even if it's the former, it's still a cool and different look than the one I'm used to!
Nice vid
Thank you 😁
@@HideakiTransit your welcome :)
Just what the doctor ordered, after being told if I keep being creative non-stop I will have a unrecoverable burnout! 😮 So watching/fanning trains and transit helps reduce my obsession with creativity and art in general! Thanks for the upload!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😅
It would be a lot nicer if this subway were equipped with platform screen doors instead of those silly yellow stanchions at car-length intervals. If a criminally insane person were to push someone onto the tracks, he'd do it when the train is entering the station. Get those platform screen doors built!
The flex posts are actually an ADA requirement, so blind riders don’t mistake the gap between train cars as an open door and attempt to board there. Of course, platform screen doors would solve that problem, but the US is weirdly resistant to them.
The stations look good. You can tell they upgraded the lighting to LEDs. They look brighter now.
Good video of the LA Metro B and D lines. I can't wait for them to start using the new subway cars. They were supposed to be coming online by now already. These Bredas are over 30 years old now. However, I read they might end up refurbishing some of them since they were having issues getting enough of the new ones from CRRC. Probably explains why LA Metro also fired CRRC and went with another company to get future additional new cars.
The MBTA in Boston are none too happy with their CRRC subway trainsets either, especially over issues the firm was having getting the trains built and delivered on time. They are still running unrefurbished 50 year old Pullmans and 35 year old UTDC's!
Thank you for riding the Los Santos subway.
I find it interesting how the destination displays indicate the locale of the terminus, not the actual station name. I can see it being helpful to some people, but they should also include the city/neighborhood name in the terminal station itself on the map, just like in New York.
It is there as well . Like Firestone, Florence, Slauson , etc .
it's not a scenic system nor is it very long, but the architecture is perhaps the best of the modern US metro systems. The back-lit overhead station signs are a nice touch. also you gotta appreciate how deep it runs beneath the santa monica mountains on the way to Universal/NH
Even if the facilities aren't always the cleanest or in the best shape, I definitely think the unique art and styles in every station is an incredibly cool element 😎
@HideakiTransit Yes, almost all of the original subway stations have artwork embedded into the architectural design of the stations. I'm curious to see if they continue that tradition in the new stations of the D line expansion.
One of a few places you can still see flip-dot signs on trains in America
7:14 Car 560 BEEP! BEEP!
Love the sound of the ventilation at the start I wish I could get a loop of it. The B & d lines are my favourite in the entire system also cars 515/516 and 539/540 have a unique paint scheme with just one red stripe on the gray body. Great video (edit) I forgot to mention all these trains are equipped with Ato meaning all the operator has to do is open and close the doors at the stations however they can be manually driven. I talked to a b line operator once and he said they have one manual trip per shift. Also the cabs on these units are relatively smaller looking
Interesting things to know! :)
0:20 interesting how this station uses almost the exact same fare gates at the PATH train in NJ/NY. Love this video! Super chill and relaxing
these could be a cool stage in a beat 'em up game lol
Yeah and imagine if you were running from someone and they said English or Spanish. That would actually be so sigma. Those who know:💀
