I CAN FEEL MY FACE COMPRESS AND GET GOOFIER JUST SEEING YOUR ARTSTYLE DID YOU WORK FOR A STUDIO OR SMTH
holy cow! insta new sub i love your art style
Loving your videos, very helpful!! ♥
Exaggeration is definitely underutilized nowadays, but you also have to consider the current tone of the story, and what parts of a scene you want to stand out compared to others.
I love the rubber hose animation style a lot and I use it for my drawings sometimes but I also sometimes go for squash and stretch
I love how you made Candace thin as a toothpick, yet she's less flat-chested than in the og show 😭 yooo
This is the most "millennial" video I've seen on youtube.
I agree exaggerated poses make all they personality of a cartoon, but sometimes a more standard pose is right too. To me, they dont express the same and depending on what you're trying to convey, one or the other suits better
My problem with cartoons and animes from 2010 to 2020 is that most of them follow a pattern that i hate the most, cerberus syndrome with unecessary complex history/lore, bean mouth/mean-inspired anime or generic style, pop culture references, dirty 'jokes' and unnecessary amount of funko pop (the thing i hate the most too)/merchandising.
Momo's design in your cartoon style looks so good!
a lot of the initial drawings look like theyre a step before the exaggerated drawing in animation. you of course dont want to overdo exaggerated animation if its not the vibe your animation fits into - it tends to be really good for intensely emotional moments if it is established as apart of the style of your animation. (not an animator, just an animation fan)
The quality in here is Immaculate, can’t believe you just started doing this! Would love to see more and especially tutorials on how to approach deferent aspects of drawing cartoons and the approach needed like the eyes episode you did (was amazing btw). You got yourself a like and new subscriber! anyway thanks for the great videos and keep up the great work!
I'm a starter animator and drawer so I won't have completely much tine to animate everything but i think i can make a good animation if i try, ill post a vid on my channel please check it out! (Ball animation)
Hey your art style looks familiar… John…Oh No!
Your style is incredible and super nostalgic! Really inspirational to watch when I'm drawing on the side :) What other animes are you a fan of?
Thanks! I watch a lot but probably not as much as some other people.. so anything by Trigger, Mob Psycho 100, Dr Stone, are some of favorites recently..
@@frittercartoons Thanks for the reply! Trigger is awesome, I love those kinds of exciting and stylized animes as well.
Welp, looks like I have a new favorite UA-cam channel!! There really aren't enough goofy nasty cartoonists on UA-cam anymore, feels like a bygone era... but here you are bringing it back!! Thanks for existing fritter, you're the light of my life now.
This videos gave me insperation since i love to use goofy and cartoony artstyles
I like to think that when okarun uses his turbo form, it still keeps the mask, hunched posture, and white and red hair but he's comically buff
While I may agree with the counter argument “account for the situation”, the push for a balance here makes no sense. We’re already on the extreme end of blandness when it comes to cartooning today. Aiming for a “balance” is just going churn out Luke warm attempts that gets us no where. Wait until “too much exaggeration” actually becomes actually becomes a problem with the standard. Then try to look for a balance. Try to do that now, you get a middle ground, you’re just going to be slightly further from the edge. We have a long way to go before we get there.
This wasn't very funny
I love you ^^ ❤
Oh I'm SO HAPPY You got recommended to me, I agree on basically everything you said, absolutely incredible work!!
unironically, Teen Titans Go is the only current cartoon that does all this
I feel like it really depends on what type of character you’re trying to portray. So if you have a serious character, should give them more muted facial expressions (if that makes sense). But if you have a character who’s loud and energetic (for example) you could give them the exaggerated expressions.
This. All of this. As an animator and cartoonist myself. I do go by a mix of both, on-model and cartoonishly expressive and off-model at the same time. I always look up to stuff like say "A Pup Named Scooby-Doo" because of Glen Kennedy's off the wall wild takes or down the rabbit hole obscure ones like a Chinese cartoon I recently discovered called "Mr. Golum", which is notable for being a blatant knock off of Ren and Stimpy. These days, we rarely get any sort of expression in today's TV cartoons, with the remaining ones doing expressive animation, as far as I know, is SpongeBob SquarePants, The Patrick Star Show, etc. and as for the Spunch, its expressive animation got a lot of heat because they want the animation to be on-model, which really stings, let me tell you. And that's another problem people are having with modern TV animation; they want everything to be on-model all the time. Don't get me wrong, I do like rigged animation, and while it is seen as inferior to hand drawn animation, sometimes, they can go way ahead of the stiff animation you see, and create some really fluid animation. There's a defunct studio on Canada called Collideascope, and they're known for using a mix of rigged animation and hand drawn animation. If you look at the 2nd and 3rd seasons of Johnny Test, you can clearly tell they're being expressive with the characters thanks to the rigged/hand drawn blend. Go look up animator reels for the show and you'll see what I mean. There's also the 2013 Mickey Mouse cartoons by Paul Rudish (a.k.a. the BASED Mickey in my opinion!), which boasts eyecandy fluid and expressive animation for something made with rigs, courtesy of Mercury Filmworks! Don't get me wrong, I do like stuff like Steven Universe or Regular Show, but I really understand your point. Expressiveness and exaggeratedness is almost definitely missing in modern TV animation. I mean "almost" because there are exceptions like the HBO Max Looney Tunes shorts for example as well as the aforementioned Paul Rudish Mickey cartoons.
WHOA what a comment!! I'm going to check out some of things you mentioned because even I, the great fritter, have never heard of them!! Thanks! Oh and yes, I love love love the new Mickey cartoons - they keep real cartoon dreams alive.
✨!!!BROO!!!✨ these days I wanted to draw funny cartoony exaggerated faces but I couldn’t find any good enough tutorials… !!!UNTIL NOW!!! 💖!!SERIOUSLY THANKS FOR UPLOADING THIS KIND OF TUTORIALS, THIS IS GOLD🔥, THE BEST CHANEL I FOUND!!! 💖 I’LL DEFINITELY MPROVE MY ART WITH UR HELP ^^
Personally, I believe that exaggeration is not about making it more wacky and distorted, but to make the acting more clear and convincing, or as Walt Disney said, “more realistic”. If you want the audience to feel the emotion, the expressions have to really reflect that.
I love how your oc animation is limited but so expressive at the same time!
Bro is drawing skibidi toilet for some reason 5:21 💀
Interesting but watch the show first and get a feel for the characters. Your redesign doesn't have to be similar to the originals just in tune with their personalities and the understated tone of the show. Its style and humor have more in common with Family Guy than Looney Tunes. However I think a redesign of Perry and Doofenshmirtz might fit a wackier art style because of all their action scenes.
Love your version of the characters but I do disagree with saying that they aren’t that expressive (if that’s what you meant) there are multiple instances where maybe not Phineas himself but other characters can make pretty expressive reactions when they want to
I love drawing goofy and fun expressions its sad they aren’t in alot of modern cartoons
Reminds me of danny fantom and the x
Please draw bluey but more goofy
dam, i need a crossover between this guy and Ibrah
when did the breadwinners animator get a youtube account
This is why I hate anime
Banger recommendation pull! I will take these into consideration for my own art. Really love your art style, keep it up 💖

X3 Edit: Oh and a lot of my art is inspired by hyperpop/breakcore/speedcore music!!
