He was hamstrung by Dr. Harvey who was interested in expanding the band’s size which fielded about 240 when I marched under Sylvester Young in the 80s. This year’s Force is considerably larger thanks to the support of our current president.

@@KingQue011it’s more to do with how much it costs to go to Hampton. Some just end up going to the cheaper Public university, Norfolk.

Thomas is a product of the Marching Force in the 90's, when they would march over 150 instruments into your stadium and was a different band under the direction of Barney Smart. I know because he was my drum major when we showed up VS The Legion. NSU has had the luxury of having their presidents support the band for many years as recruitment for the university VS Hampton. Thomas is off to an excellent start to getting the Force back to those days in the short time he's been head director and with our current president supporting The Force. The more people, the more mature and solid the sound will get. He deserves to be where is .....back at his "Home by the sea". ;)
